- For my first ever Live Stream, I made one of my favorite warm weather dishes (Crispy Sesame Tofu and Mushroom Lettuce Wraps) and answered lots of your questions! I had so much fun and I hope you did too if you were able to join :)
I’ve been really busy writing my second cookbook (yay!) so I won’t be releasing a full-length video this Saturday as planned, but I think/hope the live stream made up for it :)
Here's the recipe I made: rainbowplantli...

I had so much fun doing my first livestream and answering your questions! If you have suggestions for a future livestream, drop your ideas in the comments :)
Maybe testing some new or any vegan products
I would say
How do you make videos , edits ❤️😍
Loved this so much!! Would enjoy seeing a future live of you making a deserve of some kind!! Thanks for all your incredible content. Grateful for you. XOX
I would love a video about when you traveled for 6 months after you and your partner quit your jobs. About where you went and the things you think were the most interesting, as well as the things you learned from your experience. Thank you for all the great content, I love your channel!!!
Your answer about Max not being vegan was so cute and honest! My partner isn't vegan either, but she eats tons more vegan foods than she did before we met, and it's hard sometimes for me to focus on that part instead of the non-vegan things she does eat - but that was a great reminder.
When I made your breakfast burrito for the first time... my roomate had them said you should sell these and accept orders. The second time.... my dad had them and he said. Wow you just taught me that vegan can be delicious.
Anytime I make your recipes they come out absolutely delicious. Even if i change a couple of ingredients around (i.e. water sautéed, no added oils). I tried from many others and keep coming back to you.
Thanks for all you do!!
That's so fabulous to hear! So happy your roommate and dad loved the burritos and so thrilled you're able to adapt my recipes and still enjoy them!
I love how you touch your food and toss and tear with your hands. Totally makes a whole connection with your food. Love your videos.
Just wanted to say that every recipe we’ve tried from you has turned out phenomenal - your red lentil curry is a regular staple in our house and we recently tried the 10 ingredient lentil bolognese also and it was amazing as well (only tweak was being Australian we added Vegemite for the umami flavour in place of the balsamic vinegar). Can’t wait for your cookbook!
Thanks for the kind words! Vegemite sounds like a great addition. Not sure why it never caught on in the States.
@@RainbowPlantLife Because even some of us Aussie dislike it lol
Your red lentil curry is a staple meal for my family and I, and your vegan shepherd's pie was a huge hit over Christmas! This looks like another recipe I'll have to try!
So glad to hear it, Max!
This is the best production I’ve seen on live ever! Such a great job. Love your channel and recipes.
Aww I am so flattered (even though we had technical difficulties at the beginning). Thank you Emily!
Thank you!
Just an FYI, I dislike how quickly my ginger goes bad/hard. I started freezing and then just grate what I need and keep it in freezer and typically use it up in about a month.
Some people store the ginger in sand.
LOVE how much your channel is growing. So proud of you and all of your hard work! You’re my favorite vegan. 🙂 I would love to see you do a vegetable korma/kurma and a jalfrezi. Can’t wait for the new cookbook. I know it will be worth the wait. ❤️
I admire how much you love your work, and I admire you for leaving a less than happy career behind. Watching your video presentations is a joy for me while learning more about vegan meal planning and preparation. Thank You!
I loved the livestream format! The image is super high quality, two cameras and great sound, good job guys! Would love to see more of these ❤️
Thank you, Kiki! We spent a lot of time figuring things out (and still ran into some technical issues despite that lol) so I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@RainbowPlantLife if you feel brave enough, some livestream ideas could be making a recipe you've never tried before, or even improvising (showing us what ingredients you have and making up a recipe as you go, maybe following our suggestions!). Tipsy cooking is also super fun while livestreaming but make sure you don't have to use knives, don't ask me howI know that 😅❤️
My family is going to make your Tofu Tikka Masala recipe tonight, so excited!! All your recipes have been amazing. Thanks for what you do.
Hey Nisha! I've done quite a few of your recipes in the past months .... I love Indian flavours! Plus everything else you do! Helped me so much! You are so much appreciated!
That moment when you realize that your two all time favorite you-tubers not only watch each other’s videos but are FRIENDS! 🥺💛🥰 Your videos and PickupLimes’ videos have gotten me through some tough days throughout the past year. I am so thankful for both of you!
You are adorable, informative and a pleasure to watch. Thank you for doing your channel and answering all the questions.
I loved loved loved the stream! I love your channel, your recipes are great and your voice is so relaxing! Please do more live stream, maybe you could give a shopping list few days before so we can cook real time with you. Would be great 😃
So nice to hear you loved it so much :) Thank you! I will definitely do more in the future and love the idea of giving a shopping list beforehand!
Thank you for the great recipe, another one! I also live watching Wil Yeung, I’ve been able to add some Asian dishes to my repertoire of homemade meals which makes me very happy. Because my favorite foods are Italian with the ability to get great flavor with so few spices using great ingredients, and Indian because the array of flavor with so many spices, both of which I am comfortable with but always learning. I am going to take a look at Sweet Potato Soul, thank you for mentioning. Pro home Cooks is an interesting one I watch as well. I will absolutely agree with all your favorite spices and will have to say that Cardamom is definitely a top of mine. With regard to freezing tofu, I tried it and found it was spongey when it thawed, is that too be expected or could there have been something wrong with it! I love Wil Yeung’s Palek Paneer and have made it with Power Greens because it was what I had and it was delicious the 3x in the same week that I made it. It’s one of my favorite Indian dishes so am looking forward to making your recipe this week. And congratulations on a super channel. Love your personality and appreciate the recipes, yes, the Red Lentil was a hit even with my non vegan son. Brownies, I can’t wait to try when I’m ready to commit to eating those for a few days. Stay well 🌟🌼
Easily the greatest personality on youtube.
I’ve recently become 100% vegan and I have been following your channel for a while now. I watched your live stream just now and I’m so glad it was such a success! Thank you for being out there and inspiring great food! I’m looking forward to your next stream. Please keep up the good work.
Thank you Young lady we are more than ready to start cooking some of your Awesome Recipes, Thanks again
I am so excited for a more traditional cookbook because my partner says I have way too many appliances in our kitchen and I can't get an Instant Pot! Mostly kidding...but we just don't have the room for it! Can't wait to put your newest cookbook on my gift list! Your videos and recipes have kept me mentally sane through pandemic! Thank you for always sharing!
This was so fun! I really enjoyed learning all this valuable info about becoming a content creator!
Glad it was helpful!
Max is so very lucky!
Two thumbs up, for a first time Livestream, this rocks. More than this one, I want to give two thumbs up AND a kudos slap on the back to awesome editing of regular videos... Watching this one highlights your outstanding skills at making reg ones entirely "uhhh"-free "ummm"-free.
I was going to say the same thing. It makes one remember that our favorite influencers are human as well. It also shows, as you mentioned, how much work goes into crafting the videos to make them enjoyable for the viewers.
I think for a first live video Nisha you did a superb job - but definitely seemed a little nervous (again, humanized you). I can't wait for the next ones!!
I also love how homely your kitchen is. It feels like a normal, realistic kitchen. Would love another live tour and Q&A!
LOVE that you often test recipes before you share them with us!!! ❤️
Chickpea in German is called Kichererbse (Gigglepea). They have a lot of calories, but I love them.
I just missed it but thank you for posting! "Alexa stop I'm in the middle of my speech" 😅👏
Love your recipes, have not found even one that I did not like.... also you are funny down to earth and I love that you don't hide that you are clumsy ...didn't realize you had a cookbook...ordering now
I'd just like to say that in my opinion you're right up there with Miyoko Schinner and NYT Cooking. I love that you were a former attorney which means to me that you scrupulously pay attention to detail which I see in your recipes & your I Pot book. My only criticism of the book is that you didn't include ingredients by weight - grams rock! I'm sure they will be in your next book that I would scoop up in a second.
Please continue what you're doing as you do it so well!!!
There’s no such thing as gluten allergy, there is however gluten sensitivity and of course there’s Celiac Disease- so many people think it’s an allergy when it’s a real disease . So if you’re vegan and have Celiac disease eating can be difficult. I appreciate you addressing the issue
There is also a condition from Systemic Lupus Erithromysis related to Gluten sensitivity Sometimes called "non tropical sprue" Which if gluten is introduced and you accidentally ingest it or you are lied to in a restaurant about an item truly being gluten free as in being Chinese restaurant and the owner saying the soy sauce gluten free when it isn't. This was the first time it happened to me. more than a dozen years ago. Then your calves blister from your ankles to your knees. You have a migraine and feel like you have the flu for three days. And a Lupus flare on top of it. It's not fun. Because of this. I only go to a restaurant once or twice a year and I have to know the chef. After dealing with this for over a dozen years. I do 99.9% of my own cooking
Nisha , I made this today and my whole family loved it 😍. I was looking for some vegan recipes and thank god I found your channel. Lots of love ❤️
Have you ever considered having a compost pile to cut down on food waste. What is great is that compost goes right back into the food you eat.
Hint: You can assign a word other than ‘Alexa’ to get her attention - that way ur audience’s Alexas won’t be setting timers. Ty! Good video!
north tonawanda NY and I love you! You’re amazing 🥰 Just wanted you to know
I just made your palak paneer recipe and it is so tasty 🌱🤩🥰 your channel is one of my favorites, thanks for all the inspiration!
Whoa!! So cool and food looks delicious. You can't really figure out how to work out the kinks until you try it, (so it's expected to not all go smoothly the first time) but even with the minor issues, I was so amazed because I've never seen a livestream with two cameras before 🤯
Thanks, Erin! Glad you enjoyed the two camera format. We had fun making the video (even if there were a few hiccups).
Lovely 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland. Have a great day 🌻
note to self dont fall asleep watching this because kept waking up to my alexa setting timers
I have made so many of your recipes now and i am not a great cook so that says a lot. I make your vegan tuna salad at least once a week now!! It’s my absolute favorite and is amazing in tacos with lots of greens & herbs from the garden on top! I’m also now obsessed with chickpeas .. i blame you haha
I’m house sitting and watching this livestream while I lay on the couch and you told Alexa to set a timer, well the Alexa at the house I’m at set a timer too 😂
Fabulous video .Really enjoyed it please do more of these receipe video.Loved all the Q &A .Thank ypu🙏🏼👍🏼
Thanks, Jay! I hope to do more of these in the future.
So good, and funny, as usual... you are a great cook and a real person. 'burp'
Hi, I’m from Queensland Australia. Love your shows.❤️
mushrooms are the best!
Definitely spark my curiosity, TYSM😘
😍😍❤️ I love all your videos Nisha
You are such a great , lovely person
And I love watching you ❤️❤️
Try avoiding the „uhhhms“, otherwise l loved it. Great job for the first time live ☺️💛
Dear, I´ve really enjoyed your presentation. I´m only curious about one thing, what happened with the rice noodles?
aw, the video just ended as you were about to mention an assistant. That was my question!
Love ❤️ love love. Gimme more live streams
i couldn't make it to the live but watched the entire replay :)
Hi! Every recipe I’ve tried from your channel is phenomenal!
I do have a question, kinda silly and unrelated...
Where can I get a kitchen window curtain like you have right behind you? I just bought a house and I love your kitchen and I need one of those curtains lol but can’t find them at my local hardware store. If appreciate the help! 🙂
There was an echo as you were dicing your tofu. Oh, its fixed now! Good job, interesting recipe, informative show. Thanks for airing it!
Thanks for watching, Lisa!

I love 💕 your recipes you're such a good cook
Moxee WA! I love your cooking ❤️
new favorite channel!!!!
I just discovered you this week! Enjoying so much! I also just discovered Plant Based, after coming across "Cashew Milk" Strawberry Kiefer (Forager brand) in the store, while gathering ingredients to make your mushroom stroganoff. thought..wut?!..and bought it to try, thinking it would be disgusting.. when i tried it a few days later, it was thinner than regular Kiefer, but still yummy.. After a week of binging on your YT and blog post, and other research, i secured some raw cashews and whipped up a batch of "milk" this morning and added vanilla, fresh strawberries and maple syrup to it.. i had it cold at lunch today and it was marvelous..but lacking the "probiotic" tangy taste.. Have you got a recipe for Cashew Milk Kiefer? I've been researching today, and i'd like to ask here first to hear if you have any suggestions, or if you can do a future video on this topic.
You can buy Kefir cultures to make your own Kefir. Just add the strawberries when you serve it so the color stays pretty :=)
Would you do a video using jackfruit? Please.
Thus salad looks delicious ! Thanks for sharing :-)
This was amazing and well done for your debut livestream. I watched in my dinner break at work which was a welcome break. Hope to see more
So pleased to hear the livestream made your dinner break better! I hope to do more in the future.
tuned in late from Tucson AZ- love your food.
Thank you for this! I enjoyed it sooo much! Hope you did as well & might spoil us with another one 😉
Haha I'm so glad you enjoyed it Juliette! Now that I've done one and know what to avoid in the future lol, I can definitely say there will be more in the future :)
@@RainbowPlantLife
Love to hear that 🥰
And don‘t worry about technical stuff - imho it‘s learning by doing & the majority of the ppl showing up do so, because they live & enjoy what you have to offer & your personality. They won‘t disappear bc of some littles issues might have not gone perfectly from scratch 🤷🏻♀️😊
Have a lovely evening/day!
From UK
JiminsJams, I see you. ARMY represent!
“I feel like I am a chickpea in human form.” 🤣
always yummy! thank you
Really liked this episode 😀 got to know you a little better 🙂

i love all your stuff!!
Can you please make a video on live weekly meal prep
Love your personality and channel
Love your channel, thank you !!
You are amazing, smart, beautiful and articulate and I am following your recipes. STOP WITH THE ALEXA COMMANDS! Lol. mine went nuts!
I would suggest working on taking a breathe instead of saying UMMM. It is distracting. Moving along faster would be better. Again, love how knowledgeable you are except for the UMMs I love how you speak about being happy! Thank you for sharing.
Watching from France!
Bonjour!
New sub l so in love with your recipes and personality. Happy veganism 🌱🙌🏽💚
Thank you so much! So happy you're enjoying my videos :)
I eat gluten free so I will be trying to find some gluten free panko bread crumbs. Great information on the mushrooms
If you have a Bulk Barn store near you, they often sell them. Same brand as used in the video (can’t spell it, but, something like Kinicknick). Just check for the gluten free banner on the box. They also have other gf products such as graham cracker crumbs. Also reasonably priced. Can also Google to find where they are sold near you. Good luck!
Can you please make a video on your technique of researching your recipes?
You have excellent videos!!! 14:06
I missed the LiveStream, but enjoyed the video immensely, except for the umpteen number of "umm"s :D
Would make for a good blooper video sometime :P
And waiting for the second cookbook!
Thank you, the UMMMS gotta go lol also my Alexa went nuts setting all kinds of timers!
What was the name of the dish you recommended as your "go-to" for a first vegan meal for a carnivore guest? You said it so quickly, I couldn't quite catch it.
My red lentil curry (video on my channel)! Or my crunchwrap supreme :)
This was enjoyable. Was the tahini that you mentioned, Soom, and do you get the organic one? I hope that you can do a video on spice blends, "especially a simple recipe for chaat masala." Maybe some Indian paste recipes.
Do you ever use fenugreek leaves and if so where do you purchase them?
thank you! Yes, it's the soom variety. I have purchased both the regular and the organic variety and think both are great. I make a lot of spice blends at home, so I think that's a great idea :) I love fenugreek leaves, also called kasoori methi - I get them at Indian grocery stores! If you don't have one, you can order them online.
@@RainbowPlantLife Thank you this will be great.
Is there more meal planning in your InstaPot cookbook?
Montreal, Canada Hello and thank you!
Can you please list all the documentaries that gave power to your "why" for going vegan?
Forks over Knives and Game Changer are both very good.
Your vegan story is very similar to mine. Love your videos!
Wow, amazing recipe
Soy -free means no tofu! Any suggestions for gluten-free, soy-free?
Canada 🇨🇦
Think what u think
After you thaw out tofu how soon after do you need to use it?
❤️great video!
Hi from upstate (watervliet) NY
Because life 😘😘😍😘😍😘😍😘
💚
Alexa is a robot, like R2-D2 from the Star Wars . But it can cook...
Interesting how they (RUclips?) attached a Big Y commercial with raw ground chicken in it to a vegan live stream. Lol
Lol mushroom bag.😂😂😂
Do you freeze he tofu with the water drained out of the package?
You can just freeze the entire package as is! Or, you can drain it, wrap it, and then freeze it.
Nice
Hi, love your videos, and especially this live one 💗
But perhaps you could mute your mic or cover it while using Alexa 🤔 Mine has been going crazy and its not fun 😐 Thank you 🙂
LIQUID AMINOS would be a soy free sub for tamari
Do you have Mac n cheese option on your channel . 😂
