Vinnie Colaiuta is the best drummer alive today imho. And Tal Wilkenfeld on bass is incredible. Jeff always plays with like musicians of above and way beyond excellent , like himself.

Jeff was one of few that just kept getting better as he went along. I remember what a force he was in the 70’s. The 80’s comes along and he’s better. And so forth, just more amazing as he went. I am just gut wrenched over his passing. Gods blessings and love to his wife and family. I’ll never forget you Jeff, along with countless others. R.I.P. Jeff 🙏🎸
The keyboard player is WAY underrated! Having watched this entire set several times, he is just a classy journeyman player, nothing obviously flashy, he's just there doing what needs being done! Watching his interplay with both Jeff and Tal is a true joy. This entire band is just too good to believe!
Just sadness , my childhood is slipping away , Jeff Beck was one of my all time favorites just loved him so much , I'm sure he's up there with Jimi and looking down and laughing at us , Thanks Jeff for your great music you we're one of the best guitarist that ever played the guitar !
Was at that Crossroads and remember when Beck came out with what looked like a schoolgirl on bass. During the set, Beck pushed her to an other-worldly place, and you could just see her grow on the stage as she matched him lick for lick. Beck loved it and the crowd went crazy. Best Crossroads Festival and best concert ever.
I'm just days away from turning 66 and now one of greatest regrets is never being blessed to watch this master play live. I will never forget some crazy arguments with some of my Michigan friends years ago who would proclaim that Nugent was faster. RIP Jeff.

I didnt get to see them together but I've been so very lucky to have seen him front row twice and believe that he is having fun up there. All ya gotta do is show him you dig him and it flips a switch. An old rocker told me that if the audience isnt as spent as the musicians then we didnt do our job. Good to hear bcuz I don't get folks who can just sit there!, not even tap a foot! What is that? He chooses the best for his groups and Tal is one world class Bassist. I do love seeing them in old vids play.
Tal could have been his daughter, in terms of age, they make a great team. The Ronnie Scott dvd (a year or twp before this show) also shows this mutual chemistry and appreciation, in spates.

I discovered jeff with these records with tal, so these versions always seemed more complete. it took a good 10 years for me to get into the more bluesy side not even into yard birds yet...

Some of his stuff isn`t that easy to get into, but his skill with the guitar is undisputable, especially when you look at the session work he has done over the years. he is one of the very few guitar players that you can tell who it is after just a few notes. So sad he is gone, ok he was 78 but was as fit as a fiddle until he took bacterial meningitis - another music legend gone RIP Jeff Beck.

Perhaps, beside Winni Collaiuta, the other are not the super big musician in the world, but the sound and the ensemble I here in all his performaces with this act is one of the best I ever heard from him. They funcion as a real "BAND" not as a single great musician. Thanks Mr Jef Beck We All miss You a lot.

I think in the later years, this was Jeff's best band. The chemistry is beyond amazing. 3 accomplished musicians in their own right surrounding the genius. Jeff & Tal always seem to be having a blast playing off each other. What a Universal loss. R.I.P. Jeff.
I agree, this was the quintessential JB supergroup, Vinnie Tal Jason and JB. I was gutted for days when he died; it just was unbelievable, the guy *always* seemed in the prime of life...dayum.
Just an observation. TBH. You can ask any guitar people across all of the genres to name the top 5 guitarists they know and I am sure Jeff Beck will be on probably 99 percent of those ballots. What I love is the quality of musical excellence he surrounds himself with. I mean, he has nothing to think about but kick ass and take names, thank you very much. It is beyond great.
That is one talented fearless young lady on that long neck bass matching quite complicated runs lick for lick with Beck.......I cannot fathom how she can keep it up so long and flawlessly. She will be a force to behold in the coming years.
See the "two handed-one neck bass duet" between her and Jeff at Irving Plaza where she had the balls to flick his fingers out of the way so she could "properly" play her part of what obviously was a totally spontaneous, unrehearsed move on both of their parts. For fuck's sake, who DOES that?

He is one of the most accomplished and innovative guitarists I have ever heard. I have been playing for 46 years so I have seen many players come and go. Jeff just keeps going and blowing them away.
Great concert for sure. Jeff and Tal and of course the great time keeper Vinnie. Play so many times together and of course again in London in the film made from his multi nightly series live at jazz club. But, the I have seen and heard Jeff Beck was a special gig he arranged for a salute to the life and music of Les Paul & Mary Ford with a collection of friends and extraordinary musicians and singers also celebrating the rock n roll of Gene Vincent & Blue Caps. Probably the most soulful experience and to witness such musicianship is a treat. I believe the film ends with a interview with Jeff next day. A must watch to see Jeff play music that mostly was not on his albums. Also a very small intimate club environment

I've been a Tal fan for years but 16 mins into this I realised.. oh god. I've got a crush. It doesn't last long. Her stank faces remind me what's really going on here. It's badass music.
It's on interview with Eric Clapton where he said Jeff Beck is without a doubt one of the top 3 most innovative guitarist on the planet. And I'll tell you what the bass player just kicks ass. I Recommend listening to her solo album which is just outstanding

I agree. But... What he does with the bottle at 26:00 is even further ahead of the pack. That's several octaves higher than anything I've ever heard with perfect pitch and tone control..... It's CRAZY good. Of all the comments I've read.... Your's is the only one that points to trem bar control.....

Jeff Beck despised speedy guitar players - it's all about tone & feel not how quickly you can bang it out.
The music and musicianship is obviously exemplary, but the chemistry and joy Jeff, Tal and Vinnie share makes my little old heart go pit-a-pat!

Jeff is very awesome. I love his music. He also knows how to pick a back up band, and that bass player, Tal. WOW! What a team!

@@michaeltw1000 Jeff is not my first choise either. I WILL however give him the respect that he has worked so hard to deserve. He is one of the most accomplished and innovative guitarists I have ever heard. I have been playing for 46 years so I have seen many players come and go. Jeff just keeps going and blowing them away.

Great concert for sure. Jeff and Tal and of course the great time keeper Vinnie. Play so many times together and of course again in London in the film made from his multi nightly series live at jazz club.
But, the I have seen and heard Jeff Beck was a special gig he arranged for a salute to the life and music of Les Paul & Mary Ford with a collection of friends and extraordinary musicians and singers also celebrating the rock n roll of Gene Vincent & Blue Caps. Probably the most soulful experience and to witness such musicianship is a treat. I believe the film ends with a interview with Jeff next day. A must watch to see Jeff play music that mostly was not on his albums. Also a very small intimate club environment

Jeff Beck is the best guitar player EVER to me. BLUE CHEER s my all-time favorite band. 71 yrs old, rock & roll festival roadie from the West coast to East coast 1969.
I've been a Tal fan for years but 16 mins into this I realised.. oh god. I've got a crush. It doesn't last long. Her stank faces remind me what's really going on here.

It's on interview with Eric Clapton where he said Jeff Beck is without a doubt one of the top 3 most innovative guitarist on the planet. And I'll tell you what the bass player just kicks ass. I Recommend listening to her solo album which is just outstanding

I agree. But... What he does with the bottle at 26:00 is even further ahead of the pack. That's several octaves higher than anything I've ever heard with perfect pitch and tone control..... It's CRAZY good.
