I'm still loving mine. I was surprised that it got the December security patch as fast as it did. My S22 Ultra is still on November security patch, and the 2 year old Surface Duo is getting them faster. Very underrated device for sure.
I just got mine yesterday. Can't believe how thin it is!!! Amazing hardware. Haven't gotten any bugs yet either. Crazy deals rn too! Great vid man!

Still loving and using mine as a primary. I agree with that ugly bump on the duo 2 which is why I went for the duo 1st Gen. The sleek form factor and awesome productivity of the device was a win for me especially since I use procreate tools alot for my custom flash work imagery for my tattooing. Just more pocketable overall and easier to carry and use than lugging around a big tablet.
So I got my Duo1 for $350 off ebay, brand new unlocked and dual sim. Loved it so much I've not looked back at my Samsung foldables, this form factor just makes sense. But after a few months I just missed having NFC so I bought a Duo 2 for $680 unlocked. And I love it, hump and all. Having paid under $1,200 for a gen 1 & gen 2 premium foldable experience I'm a happy camper 🙂
These days NFC is a must. How can you do without it

Hi J, thanks for the great video. My wife got me a Surface Duo as a gift. I love this device! Everything you said about it is true. I really like the position and function of the touch sensor. Much better than my Samsung Galaxy 10+.
I was skeptical with the duo concept at first questioning its value. But I got one for cheap recently and the hardware really is amazing. It's so thin and the quality of the hinge and glass feels premium. I'm constantly marveling at the design of this thing, even so where the wider width doesn't bother me as I'm a fan of one handed iphone mini like sizes. The issue I have with it has been software related. I'm constantly having touch responsiveness issues. I'm upgraded to 12L and have the latest updates. But I'm having to frequently tap twice or more times to get a response, along with not registering swiping gestures the first time. I have a screen protector on it so not sure if that's an issue. Have anybody else been having frustrating touch responsiveness issues? It gets so annoying I have to switch back to the Fold 4 where the software experience is night and day.
Great video J! The only thing you forgot to mention here is how light the OG Duo is. That is very obvious once you get the Duo 2, which more durable, but considerably heavier. You make a great point how awesome the Duo SW is now at such an incredibly low price. I think the Duo 2 is also excellent value, if you can get it for about $1000 or less. Trying one of the Duos now is a smart choice, because you can wait on the next phone from MS which will surely cost a lot when it's released and drop in price after just a few months. In other words, you can move that 3rd Gen Surface phone without paying full price. That's my plan.
I just bought one in mint condition with all accessories for 200 bucks. It's the model 1930..256gb fully unlocked..get the box and bumper and everything original included..will give it a shot and see how I like it. Thx brother for this upload..most appreciated. I love m y duo and duo2. What is great about the duo is no phone bump. All they need is a small camera on the back that is good enough to scan documents, and take pictures for documentation purpose. For any real pics, use a real camera or a candy bar phone. The Duo and Duo2 are productivity focused. Just need to have a camera to take the quick pic, import to one note, or make a pdf. etc...
I'm currently waiting on mine. I know I'm late for the party... but I'm so excited about it. I needed another phone for work and I'm trying this due to its price and functionally....🎉 can't wait...
I am using the Duo as car navigation/music, works great.
Lol I just switched to this phone as my main device last night. I love it. Driving around with full screen of Google maps on one side and podcast on the other side is priceless. I'll be selling my pixel 7 pro (for a profit) and maybe pick up a S22U for cheap. BTW I bot bought the DUO for 220 with small Crack on back. Put a skin on it and bumper. Good to go. Phone runs perfect. Never gets hot. Gestures are good.
I still love mine and use it daily, same story, returned it once, bought it again. First phone I got over OCD issues, I used to get rid of phones for scratches, but I have a cracked back that is covered with a skin. Charger port broke so I broke it evenly and clean, looks like it's supposed to to be that way.
Thanks J, watching this made me pull the trigger on one of the best devices for a low price! I got mine brand new unlocked from Amazon for $230. Of course right after I picked mine up prices went back up. I liked it so much I ordered the duo 2. I basically got the duo since it will be close to the form factor of pixel fold, so I figure I may as well get used to this

I already have the Fold 4 but I got an unlocked brand new duo for $250 and I just couldn't pass it up. I have to admit I like it more than I thought I would. The numerous updates have made a big difference from when it first came out. I'm using it as my daily driver for now and it's actually running just fine. Now that I already have t he fold I'd probably choose it but if I had bought this before I probably would have never bought the fold.
I had a love hate relationship with my Duo. I think I was infatuated with the design and potential of use and features. Sadly, during the time that I had it, (up to Android 11) it never lived up its potential. I am a power user, and for me, it couldn't keep up. Eventually, my battery started to go bad and my OG Duo died. Oddly enough, I thought it would be hard going back to a regular phone but my Pixel 6 Pro is serving me well. Especially with 5G, NFC, and a good Bluetooth.

My Surface Duo is currently “out for delivery” from Fed Ex. Hyped to set it up this week.
Mine just arrived, on my way home to set it up. Couldn’t afford it at release as I had just purchased a Surface Pro 7 and Iphone SE 2020. Hyped to see how this works. I already have so many app combos in mind. Thanks your videos definitely helped in my decision.

I love my duo! It’s light enough to keep in my scrub back pocket, watch RUclips and write with the pen. It’s the best PDA ever!
Just bought one that will come with a case and the slim pen for 250, only issue is a chip missing from the bottom hinge.
I'm gonna have a good time with this.
Might even replace my phone and laptop
Using a pixel 7 now but I carry my Duo with me everywhere I go. It's become my laptop technically for school so I don't carry anything clucky and I partner it up with a folding Bluetooth keyboard

End up doing the same thing but jumped to the duo 2 bought it Brande new had it for months sold it went to thr fold 3 then the fold 4 sold that went back and got a used duo 2 with a cracked back from a overstock company for 340 put a skin on the back and now keeping it for the long haul until duo 3
wow what a story! I am similar position I went from fold 3 to fold4 still miserable and don't want to wait till May for google fold and waste so much money already lost over $1k for stupid upgrade ugg... So I thinking to just buy this unit. 🤔

Saw this in Best Buy, but rejected it due to price! Now it’s dirt cheap on Amazon. Buying one as soon as your video is done. I like devices, so I’m buying this as a toy and it’s cheap! Will not be used as a phone. The iPhone is my everyday phone. Although it’s cheap, hope I won’t be disappointed! Thanks for sharing!

I love mine, too, but neither of the carriers locally support it. I do use it while connected to wi-fi. I also have a Fold 4 and hate it. Battery life is awful and multitasking on the Surface Duo is so much better.

I bought this unlocked on Mercari ladt 128GB version I was going to give it to me for Christmas of 2021 because I so wanted that one when I first seen it new in 2020 but I gave myself the ZFOLD 3 last the one the screen broke in June of this year and I gave it to my twin son and he has the S22 Ultra I got him for Christmas and I got the ZFOLD 4 in August. I haven't took the Surface Duo out of the box yet I did when I first gotten it but it's has been still sitting in the box. The seller on Mercari included some cool accessories with my order last year like an orange skin and two screen protectors and included Microsoft Surface Earbuds too. I ended getting them replaced with Microsoft for free when the one earbud was damaged. And now my house has wifi I can get it out set it up and download the updates and keep it along with my laptop in the bag to use along with my laptop computer too!!! 😁💻📱❤️

Yes. No reason for it not to.
I also bought it twice first one broke I we bought it but I the second one has a secondary phone first one I use it as a primary phone I did not like the experience. Also they were both buggy, the second one I bought 2022 the first one I bought 2021

Downside is the EOL in 2023. Hoping MS will change the date to 24 or 25.... And other Bad thing: this great displays only playing sd content on netflix & Co on my sd1. Widevine Level is only L3 :-(
My surface duo has widevine level 1 and is playing everything from netflix to prime video or crunchy roll in full hd, maybe u should update/reinstall the apps?
