- In this episode of Jeep News, Rob gives us the details on the 2023 20th Anniversary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon recently unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show. This limited release model comes with your choice of a 4xe or 392 powered drivetrain and celebrates the Rubicon's 20 year history. The live press conference showcased an original 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon TJ driven by Jim Repp & Dave Yegge, 2 of the original Jeep engineers and members of the Lunatic Fringe, a skunk works team responsible for the creation of the Rubicon, along with a 10th Anniversary 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK. Jeep also kept everyone on the hook with one additional announcement, the availability of a very limited AEV Level II Upfit package, exclusive to the 20th Anniversary Rubicon.

I just crossed the $100K mark on my 2019 JLUR when I got rid of the crap aluminum knuckles and replaced them with Reid's. I also have King shocks, triple rate springs, solid aluminum control arms, chromolly's, 488 gears (stick), steel skids, 38" Nitto Trail Grapplers, aluminum front shorty bumper with a Warn 12K winch, Steer Smart steering, and my favorite mod, Bestop Sunrider. I can tackle almost all of the trails in Colorado.
That's a solid build right there!
I’m not even close to 100k mark on my 04 Lj. Got me some no name at’s, Adams front driveshaft, way to heavy bumpers, winch, bout 4 extra lights, trans cooler for my stock ass trans, 373 gears of coarse, some 12’s in da back,my tent, lawn chair, fishing pole bunch of other crap everywhere . It goes everywhere I want it too. 😆🤙 Jeep Life
Happy to see AEV parts on a Jeep from the factory again, fingers crossed it trickles down into lower trims like the Moab and CoD trims of the JK
I just have to say…that TJ looks just as nice as the 20th Anniversary Rubi on that stage!
I could sure use that recovery kit! Just got a 2018 rubicon and I love it!
20th Anniversary AEV Level 392 Oh Yeah!!! The question is execution and quality.
I vouch for Eddie when he said you make the best install videos.
Me too! Thanks Eddie!
I bought my 2013 JKUR brand new and did the AEV outfit myself incrementally. It was fun to work on the Jeep and see the progression yourself. It's part of the experience of owning a Wrangler. The latest Wranglers are nice. But, with the current price, I'm glad I have a JK that's fully paid for. JLs that cost over $70k are crazy.
Really appreciate all the information! Loved that red interior out of the factory 😍!!
Me too! I'm partial to the red interior for sure!
Love it, they’ve needed V8 wranglers for a long time now, I remember when the 10th anniversary came out with bright red seats.
😊
Nice, way back I had a 1976 CJ-5 Renegade, Levi's Edition 304 w/3speed manual, would love to see a v8 manual jeep offered
Ordering two his and hers 392 AEVs. Can't wait!!!
I remember when they came out with the 10th anniversary Rubicons with the bright red seat! I’m happy they’re continuing the tradition!
Me too! I always loved that 10th Anniversary Rubicon, it's why I ordered my Gladiator in Sting Gray and put the Red PRP Seat Covers on! It was as close to the color Anvil available back in 2013.
I alway love the quadratech reviews. They are my go to source for jeep updates too!
Great review Rob! The price is pretty good considering the extreme recon is already selling for $130,000 in Canada where I’m from… and I’m Still thinking about buying one lol! I’m loving all the factory options. It’s great to see. you can drive the jeep off the showroom floor and go wherever ever your adventures take you. Awesome!👍
Thanks! There's something to be said for a very capable Wrangler, straight from the factory, with a warranty!
@@rob_quadratec Agreed! FYI: the price I’m referring to is actually the 2023 models not the 20th anniversary, I think I’d be afraid to look at that price 🫣😊
I would take the 20th anniversary Rubicon 392 over the AEV. But the AEV is factory ready to go!
By g
wow, never imagined a jeep could go for that much! I would be curious to know how many they actually sell?
Another entertaining video, thank you!
WOW! By the time I pay off the 7 year loan on a stock 20th Anniversary Jeep Rubicon I'll be looking at $100K! I'll be getting in line to purchase one right behind you Rob. Thanks for the great/expensive review . . .
sold out in an hour!
Sure thing!
Love your channel and the new 392 Rubicon, mine should be in next month!
I can’t wait to see a few of these roll through Georgetown, CA!
Love your products, prices, videos. Keep rocking.
Thanks!
I would’ve said that the AEV upgrade wasn’t worth it, but then I heard about that super special placard and now it’s a steal!
saw it at the chicago auto show and man that swing gate compressor looked so clean, I'm hopeful that it will be a mopar part to put in my JL
Dealers have had a waiting list for these for over a year. They’re already sold out. Every dealer only gets 2. Pointless to discuss getting one unless you can get on the list for a cancelled order which is full as well.
$$$$ Talks.
Subscribed, The ResQ recovery kit will go great with my Stealth Winch and QRC Stubby Front bumper!
I need to win the lottery...lol. It depends on a person's finances and whether or not a person wants it from the factory or likes to wrench and install themselves. AMW 4x4 has a great turn-key kit with warranty if want a 392 or a Demon. Obviously a 20th Anniversay edition and limited AEV edition makes a vehicle a collector's item, but again how are you going to be using your rig. I be more inclined to customize a rig myself, and I love the selection of parts available through Quadratec. Both my wife and I, each have a Gladiator and have been adding options as finances allow, and both have added an AEV susspension lift, purchased through Quadratec. Love the videos you make.
All are dream Jeeps for us.❤
Very nice Jeeps and recovery kit.
Great presentation. There is a place in the market for all these 20th anniversary upgrades, and I’m glad Jeep is willing to do it. As far as the AEV cost, shop time and transportation for the install is not cheap my friends.
Great review
These are good videos for information
Can’t afford the 20th anniversary but could use the kit 😊 for my 2020.
Weird that they show the 8100 shocks, but list the 5100s. When are you guys going to carry the 4xe AEV RT Suspension?
Thanks for the opportunity to win the rescue kit!
I'd be more interested in a factory ARB rig. But I like Jeep is branching out and partnering up. Maybe this will trickle down to regular Rubicon's in the future.
like the built in compressor. Hopefully it has the CFM to justify that money. hah
Looks good!!!
I just picked up my first Jeep 2015 rubicon I could use a recovery kit
Cool video
All the 2023 20th Rubicons are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Any word if and when these versions will be available in Australia?
I believe the production run sold out already
Oh man that's a crazy price, be great to have the recovery gear.
I just want the grill lol
WE HERE ‼️
I want that kit please
Hi
So the 392 20th anniversary comes with "35 or "37?
Thanks
37’s ✅
A lot of people have $100k+ in their Jeeps with aftermarket upgrades. If you think about it $113k for a ready to go Jeep that doesn’t need any upgrades to do some serious off roading isn’t bad. And with only 150 being produced you’re not likely to see another one like yours. It’s too much for me but damn it’s good looking.
I mean, yeah, lots of people have $100k in their jeeps, but usually _not all at once,_ and on top of that, a JLUR XR for $66k (I'm assuming the forward facing trail cam, led lighting group, steel bumper group, gorilla glass windshield, trailer tow group, heavy duty rock slider group, any paint choice other than white, and of course, the XR package) with a $300 spacer lift and a wheel/tire swap for 37" or 38" tires plus a winch will literally you hanging with this Wrangler for about $70k, and it's just as capable. Hell, get a Willys Sport, add in the XR package, tow group, heavy duty rock sliders, half doors (because that's how you get power windows and locks in a Willys Sport), and that's like $55k. Throw a front locker in ($1000), a 2.5" spacer lift ($300), steel bumpers ($1000), a Harbor Freight winch ($600), and that's... what, $58k? Another $2k labor and you're at $60k. A new wheel and tire package with 38s is about $4k but you can get a couple grand back by selling the stock wheel tire combo so now you're at... what, $62-63k? And two days in the shop? And that'll 100% hang with this new Wrangler any day of the week. And you have enough money left over to buy a High Tide edition just for fun. 🤣 I love Jeep, but this new 20th anniversary edition is literally just a marketing gimmick. They'll sell maybe a few hundred of them, if that. But it allows them to say, _technically,_ that they offer a 37" tire package from the factory.
well, i love jeep. but my 2019 Rubicon rusted every single panel,, and dealership saying my warranty finished due to its 90k km.
want!
I miss my 06 Wrangler LJ. If I could afford a new Jeep I'd probably buy a Rubicon.
The LJ's were and still are FANTASTIC!
@@Quadratec LJ Rubicons were peak Wranglers. I wish Jeep would come out with a modern LJ. If you can find a clean LJR, buy it immediately because that's a unicorn.
The prices of Wranglers have become absolutely insane. This coming from someone that defended the 50k rubicon when the JL’s came out. But at 70-90k they’ve lost me. They are just not worth that… period.
I want that bag.
No way. Six figures for a rubicon, it. Not to mention no one has discussed the fire hazards ev’s have. They need a ton of water to put out. It better have a 392, lift kit, winch, 35’s, Dana 60’s, fully upgraded coil over suspension/ steering and gearing, 2 spares, arb compressor, 2 light bars in the front, and one in the rear, full recovery/med and fire kit, molle panels everywhere, a 50w gmrs radio and antenna, aux panel, an overland gas tank and rotopax mounts and cans. Then I’ll consider it.
Nice. If I win the lotto, I'll get it.
Like your products and prices. I will never spend that much money on a vehicle
My house cost less.
Even at those prices, I'm amazed at how many people will run out and get one of these Jeeps, because it is a "limited run." ... "Oh My God! I must have one!" They will sell out ... then tear everything off and put aftermarket all over it. When it's pretty much good to go from the factory. Nice rigs... but I'll stick to our new Sahara ... and tear everything off and put aftermarket everywhere. But ours will be the "Zombie Edition" cuz I bought the plaques off Amazon.
I guess Im holding on to my 10A a bit longer..🙃
That 392 is eye candy and that front grill is stunning ! NEVER OWNED A JEEP BUT I WILL BE PURCHASING A NEW CAR MID 23 SADLY THAT IS WAY TO HIGH FOR ME . I CAN ALWAYS GET SUPER CREATIVE KINDA LIKE WITH A LOWRIDER ; JEEP EXECUTIVE BUFFS THROW IN SOME NICE WHITE WALLS ON ONE OF THESE BABY'S 😁😃😀
Recovery kit? Sign me up!
I own a 2013 10th anniversary Rubicon orange crush 2 door my color they only made for 2 years love it won't give it up,the color is rare don't see alot of that type orange. The new 20th anniversary Rubicon is nice but to flashy and pricey
If I had the cash, AEV all day
While all that stuff is nice, think about the minute you drive it off the lot and that 20th Anniversary jeeps value is going to drop 9 t0 11%. That is an investment nightmare waiting to happen. At the same time I know that won't matter to the few that have got to have one. Better them than me, my money comes too hard to throw it away. How would you feel buying something you know you will never get your money back out of? As for the Quadratic videos I aways enjoy watching. I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2.0 L E-Torque I bought used and it looks like brand new. I bought it for a 1/3 of what you are talking about for the 20th Anniversary Edition Rubicon. I am also very happy with mine. I bought it with a purpose in mind which was to have a vehicle to get me around town for errands with great gas mileage. My other vehicles are GM products and I am trying to save them as much as I can. The new ones are too expensive to buy anymore. I am hoping I have bought my last new car, truck, or jeep.
Wow that’s a lot of money 😮
Those prices are ridiculous!!! And they won’t see dirt.
So you can see into the future and know everyone who is buying on to make this claim 🙄
Still have be rich own these Jeeps nope I'll build mine cheaper. You can buy used cheaper 4Xe & 392 . AEV is awesome ! Love Earl color thinking wrapping my 2016 to this color . AEV upgrade that's nice and better value. Great news Rob .
Rob said Thanks!
I'm waiting for the Gladiator 392...
Jeez on the $$
You could never charge what its really worth, cause its a Jeep, its not the price, its just having one.
Wow, can I get one of each please
and no locking front hubs
The prices are insane, but then so again are those of SUVs and pickups.
I need some recovery gear.
Silly prices, crazy, I Will upgrade my Jeep and have the same fun at half that price thanks.
Nice jeep I had 84 cj7 jeep new ones higher price
The red interior (although consistent with the ICE Rubicon) is inconsistent with the 4xE. The blue theme on the exterior trim, which was carried through on stitching and accents, normally on the 4xe would've made more sense.
Jeep seems to be investing and promoting 4xE but the aftermarket hasn't caught up. 3 model years in and you still can't even buy Quadratec branded floor mats for the 4xe.
guess the 37" tires from the factory are an option, 8:04 time stamp
They’ve done lost their minds on the pricing. Man did everyone but me get large raises
Love the Diesel More
Nice Jeeps. I do wish 2-doors were offered. Not that I'll ever be able to afford these things...
I love the AEV. They have always been innovators in the industry, and Jeep has obviously used their designs for years.
Side note: how do I get a YJL grille?
And I thought 38k out the door on my 17 2dr was expensive 😳
Been wheelin since my teens, Love Jeep.. but these prices are just stupid.
We spend thousands doing upgrades from lifts to winches. With AEV we just admit in one go how much we are about to spend.
Looks great maybe a Gladiator in 2030.
Gorilla Glass Heavy Duty Rock Sliders....?!?! @ 6:25, lol
And I thought the rent was too damn high😂
Buy a 20th Anniversary Rubicon and live in it 😂
@@Quadratec if I paid $100k for a Wrangler I'd have to live in it because my wife would kick me out.
Recovery kit would be a better buy lol. Those prices are insane and will not be collectible at all
Beautiful Jeeps…… just couldn’t afford them. 🤷♂️
Cool jeeps and all but the red interior of the 4xe doesnt work with all the blue 4xe exterior accents
Wow that’s a lot of money
i think i'll keep my 21 mojave
$90K plus. They have lost their minds but someone will buy it.
All ready sold out
Great breakdown of the different packages. I’m guessing many of these special edition Jeeps will be purchased by professional athletes with money to burn. If I could afford one I probably wouldn’t as I enjoy altering my vehicles to fit my taste.
Professional athletes don’t buy Wranglers
@@FP194 since when….
Would be awesome to have, but way too much! But hey, if you have the money, go for it! I would…lol
It’s a good thing they are doing limited production runs. Someone will buy them but it me. I’d rather buy slightly used and build it the way I want it.
very cool I'm a big Jeep lover but this is not for the average Joe .
For those prices I'd rather spend a lil more and get something super insane from America's Most Wanted and be on Dana 60's and 40's.
They can keep them high price jeeps in stick with my 84 cj7
Ain’t no jeep worth that !!
👍
