The UT reason: The Jaguars victory over the Steelers in the playoffs came with a heavy cost. They contracted their cancer. Jacksonville became arrogant and drama seeped into the organization that created an implosion. My reason: The 2017 Jaguars were never that good to begin with. They were a fluke team that beat the very low expectations placed on them, snuck out of nowhere on teams that didn’t expect them. They were playing a fourth place schedule. Combined with the Houston Texans getting ravaged by injury, and the Colts losing Andrew Luck, it opened up the wide-open AFC South even wider. The Jags actually beat the Pats in Week 2 by a score of 31-20, but then it would be their demise. Their left tackle tore his ACL in that game, and there eventually came many injuries on the o-line. Leonard Fournette was also injured in 2018 which attributed to the offense’s regression and the defense’s regression since they had to be on the field more. Bortles was not protected and a lot of the blame was on him. Tom Coughlin started to micro-manage the team in trying to solve the problems with the Jags, which rubbed people the wrong way.
In the end, I don’t think the Jags should’ve released Blake Bortles and pursued Nick Foles. Even if he did suck in 2019, he would’ve been benched for Gardner Minshew. Coughlin’s ego also demoralized this team. He was responsible for Ramsey and Dante Fowler leaving the Jags.

"I think the legacy of these past few years of Jacksonville football is cemented in the fact that it's just as easy to stumble into success as is to ruined it all almost immediately and with their 2017 roster all but history I think the jaguars front office has become the perfect example of that" - Set The Edge

This is great, really comprehensive of the past 3 years. If you look at Jaguars history, since divisional realignment, they tend to struggle heavily against the NFC West teams. In 2017, despite all the success, they went 1-3 vs the division with the win at home over the Seahawks being the high point of the regular season. In Week 1 of 2018 they beat the Giants on the road, then the Patriots in Jacksonville to start the season 2-0. Afterwards, Bortles basically imploded without a running game, as you said. But since that point, the Jags haven't won a game vs the NFC (0-7). In 2020 they're matched up against a formidible NFC North, so I agree I don't think things are going to change for them.
As a Duval native and Jags fan, I was expecting to rant and get mad at you. But no, this was really well done and perfectly describes these crazy few years we endured. Thank the Lord Coughlin’s gone! Hopefully we will see another playoff game before we move to London eventually, lol....

I know the “Sacksonville” era ended in 2019 once Ramsey was traded then Campbell and Ngakoue after the season was over. Maybe even more so earlier during the 2018 season. But now with the release of Myles Jack, that all elite (pun intended) defense is officially history.

As a Steelers fan, I’ll never forget that 2018 AFC Divisional playoff. The fact that it was only a three point game doesn’t nearly tell the whole story, Jacksonville played my beloved Steelers off their own home field, and were by far the better team for 90% of that game. By the time we were able to do something against them, it was too little too late.
"Collapse"? In order to collapse one must first ascend to a certain height or prosper for a period of time. The jags never won anything. Granted, they gave Brady a run for his money in the afc title game but that was one good year. Other than that their most iconic year is when they upset my Broncos in the 96' divisional round. That loss is right there with the 12' divisional round loss to Baltimore as far a non super bowl playoff pain for us here in Denver.
Biggest difference: went from 0 defensive pro bowlers to 6. Added Malik Jackson (pro bowl) and AJ Bouye (pro bowl and second team all pro). Telvin Smith (second team all pro) was a beast. Jalen Ramsey (DPoY candidate, 1st team all pro, pro bowl) and Calais Campbell (DPoY candidate, 1st team all pro, pro bowl, key free agent addition as well) stepped up big time. Young players like Smith, Ramsey, Ngakoue (pro bowl) stepped up big time. Added Fournette to invigorate run game from below average to 1st in rushing yards and 2nd in rushing TDs. So adding Fournette through the draft and Bouye, Campbell, and Jackson through free agency were all home run moves. Other returning guys in Ramsey, Smith, and Ngakoue got a year older but 3 years better. Too many guys had absolute career years who eventually receded to the mean. They also lost a few guys like Ramsey, Bouye, Campbell, Jackson, probably Fournette, and now Ngakoue and probably Smith.

I’ve been a Jags fan since 03 and I’ve seen like 4 winning seasons😢
Caleb Alexander we have had 7 winning seasons in the 2000s
As a patriots fan, I love seeing diehard fans from teams that are considered historically bad. Y'all genuinely make the game better, it would suck if people just hopped on the bandwagon of the best team every year, and i know many pats fans who were there when we were dogshit before the 2000s that hate all of the new fans who are spoiled... my point is to keep your chin up as a fan. Your Belicheck and Brady could be just a couple years away! We were graced with good fortune and I'm sure in the future Jacksonville will too. From one NFL fan to another good luck!!!!

"I think the legacy of these past few years of Jacksonville football is cemented in the fact that it's just as easy to stumble into success as is to ruined it all almost immediately and with their 2017 roster all but history I think the jaguars front office has become the perfect example of that"

This hurts way too much as a jags fan 😭
This is what the 2018-19 Bears remind me of. Elite defense, mediocre qb
i dont even know if you could call Trubiski mediocre hes pretty tterrible
Awesome video!
Just an idea but could you do a video on the Saints last 3 playoff runs since they are bringing back the same team and have maybe 2 more shots at a superbowl for the immediate future.

*that is if you dont run to the brick wall known as the vikings again
At the beginning of the year, being the Eagles fan that I was, I said to my father "The Eagles will go all the way this year". Turned out, I was correct. But that wasn't the only thing I was right on. I said "the Jaguars will go to the Playoffs and at least win Divisional". My dad looked at me like I was stupid, but months later he was shocked.
No matter how good we get, I will always watch this video to teach me that I don’t want to live like that anymore!!
Back then I thought Jacksonville would win it all.

They had a solid draft. They have the pieces to be solid on defense and the offense will be fine. They can compete for a wild card.

When are we getting a Brady Bucs video? 👀
This will change in April 2021 when they draft Trevor Lawrence.
sean vogt He doesn’t have to sign with them, Trevor may be a bust, and even if things do change, it won’t be immediately.
Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence did great in college ball. But the NFL is hands down a different game. Will they really do as good as some people say, or will their NFL careers be Not For Long?
Is love to see one of these on the 2016 raiders like wtf happened there was so much hope I had
It hurts me to see this as a jags fan. And it’s inexcusable how we have 1 starter remaining from 2017 after ngackoue gets traded
Litterly nothing makes me wanna go and play madden except ur vids it's like I'll watch mmg play wheel of mut and I still don't want to but watching ur vids make me wanna play it
I never bought into the hype, I knew Jacksonville was going to revert back to mediocrity after that year
It was the front office that destroyed them lmao
They had a legit team but they just keep making bad decisions, really unfortunate
Azure Kite Yea but they are like the Browns they also find a way to mess things up 🤣
Azure Kite I agree - they could’ve drafted Lamar Jackson instead of Taven Bryan for example. That’s just a glaring example of how the Jags front office doesn’t know what it’s doing.
Gatien Laurol literally everyone could have drafted Lamar Jackson, it wasn’t just us. Plus we didn’t feel like we needed a quarterback at the time
The afc south didn't exist in 1999. The jags clinched the afc central that year. (4:31)
It's sad to say for all the fans in Jacksonville, but they'll be the London Jaguars within the next 10 years i'd bet.
Youd lose that bet. Lot J project will be starting shortly all but guaranteeing Jags stay in Jacksonville. The Lot J project is part of a multi billion dollar project outside of the stadium.
Khan is using London to help fund these projects and stadium improvements.
Well we dont want to become the London Jags. And that coming from a EU Jags fan
@@Silva50505 exactly. Fans over in London (from what I've seen and hear) dont want the team to move. Takes away from the tradition that started their fandom. That and any team based in London would have a huge disadvantage especially if they made the play offs and have to travel to west coast teams in the US.
@@Jaxboy86 we have heard this for how long now bud? "Jags are going to move to L.A." but now L.A. has two teams and since we play in London and are the fan favorite there these idiots say "London Jaguars...lol".

Blake Bortles has played in more Conference Championship games than any Cowboys team in the last 24 years. Think about that.
Bortles also has more playoff wins than Dak, so that little fact might make your day.
Please do a video on the future or Tampa now that Brady and suh r back
Just watched last nights game jags vs fins game and was missing Sacksonville. I took a moment of sadness to reflect on how awesome these guys where dam.
Who’s here after they signed a bunch of quality defensive ends? Josh Allen is also coming off of injury. Sacksonville is back!
Whenever I see the Jaguars owner I immediately think of Jim Carrey in the sonic movie
When your so early RUclips say 9 likes and no views. Great vid👍
0:11 LOGAN AND TEEDS
As a ravens fan i was hoping the best for the Jags. Thought they finally turned the corner as a franchise in spite of bortles and coughlin
I know the “Sacksonville” era ended in 2019 once Ramsey was traded then Campbell and Ngakoue after the season was over. Maybe even more so earlier during the 2018 season. But now with the release of Myles Jack, that all elite (pun intended) defense is officially history.
Now the Jagaurs have their quarterback Trevor Lawrence and their coach Doug Pederson and are ready to do damage in 2023
But think though jags fan, if you guys had trevor with that defense you guys would be sb champs maybe
0:47 look its the jim carrey version of dr eggman!!!!
Does anyone notice the Jags owner looks like Dr. Robotnic ?
It’s really sad to see the Jags go from one game away from the SB to rebuilding. Jags front office really screwed up this team and there’s so much drama involved with the organization. Players don’t like playing in Jacksonville.
Only 2 people said they didn’t want to play in Jacksonville and they both are stupid Jalen Ramsey is just a stupid dude and was horrible for the rams Ngakoue never had gotten better than 9 sacks and he wants to be payed like the best DE in football I think they are stupid people
The end was coming, that elite defense was never ever doing to carry a below average QB for much longer. Front office imploded and it blew up in front of their face.
I've never believed in the Khans as owners. And I still don't.
It sucks being a jags fan, at least we have gardner minshew who was a lot better last year then people think

Who’s here when they went 1-15 this season
I'm not a jags fan but that's sad
"Collapse"? In order to collapse one must first ascend to a certain height or prosper for a period of time. The jags never won anything. Granted, they gave Brady a run for his money in the afc title game but that was one good year.
Other than that their most iconic year is when they upset my Broncos in the 96' divisional round. That loss is right there with the 12' divisional round loss to Baltimore as far a non super bowl playoff pain for us here in Denver.
exactly...!
Who's here after they went 1-15
I love these videos!!
