@@SlayTech hahaha my bad, it was the end of a long day and i build all my quads props out. DJI Avata is props in (front right is counter-clockwise)
@@SlayTech I installed the kit with the 157-2 engines and am having some issues. the first, the USB doesn't work and I can't download the images. second, an error message keeps appearing accusing "engines overloaded". third, the message "low battery level" appears. Has anyone had these problems?
The upgrade is worth the hard and difficult process . It took over 10 hours of work. But finally im no more afraid to make hard turns with stock avata and risk the crash.

For anyone going to do this... when soldering the motor wires to the esc... its easier to rest the esc into the 03 shell, and put it over the new carbon frame with the bolts loosely pushed into the mounting holes. Then mount the motors to the arms with 2 bolts. That way everything stays solid and flat whilst soldering and much easier to get correct motor wire length
I got it all done and realized I didn't think to add length to the new motors. Ended up putting old ones back on, cutting and splicing. Felt so dumb
@@FlightClubProductions the new motors are the most important part, why not just splice, its actually what axis recommends depending on soldering skills, is to cut wires mid way and not solder to board.
@@GenCodeFPV still have to remember to add length, which I did a brain fart on. Just measured the same length
Are the motors configured correctly for direction?
@@craigdavo yes. Just make sure you solder the wires like for like and motor direction will be correct
Thank you for sharing this video. I recently purchased the Axisflying DJI 3.5 kit and decided to perform the upgrade yesterday. I must admit that the upgraded drone flies differently and feels more powerful compared to the original airframe, motors, and propellers. It is an excellent product, with only one minor issue: the supplier forgot to include the action camera 40mm standoff in the package. As a result, I had to use some standoffs that I had on hand.
Over 6 hours it took me .. and I'm no stranger to soldering or building quads. If I did it again, probably take 3 hours now I know what goes where

Very cool. I always struggle with my Cinalog change over after a crash it always breaks prop guards props and antenna after crashes I thought about making a video but it’s such a struggle just doing the change out I’m frustrated asf😂😂😂 nice video man I’m subscribing. I’ll see you around
Thank you so much out of the ones I watched this video has helped me the most and I actually used different motors and will let let everyone know how it goes I had a bunch of ethix 1607 motors so I figured I'd at least try before I buy more motors

Hello, I want to buy the kit for my AVATA, but I’m from Brazil, I have a little difficulty translating the lines, but I read better with the writing. How was the USB input and the SD input? Was it worth the modification? Can you answer me here?
USB input is just extended, requires specific USB-C cable. SD card input gets slightly blocked so its best to take a dremel and grind it down a little.

Unfortunately its best to take a grinder/dremel and remove a little bit from the guard. Or just stick with USB cord.

Switch the 2 smaller wires to the battery connector

For information, why do you also change the battery connectors? Is there a risk that they will burn?

How come I have 5v on my extension cable for the usb but it’s not doing anything? Also I love the upgrade even though I’m missing like two of my finger tips now after almost getting chopped off
the instructions that comes with the package are the worse garbage I have ever seen, im not a drone builder but im pretty good with my hands, the illustrations and images are disgusting. I really appreciate your video. I least I have an idea what the entire drone looks like. thank you
Great video and thank you for all the tips. Quick question, do you know what screws are used for the props? They sent me 3 pairs instead of 4 and I don’t think they will be willing to post 2 screws from china to Europe….
tmount props should take M2x7mm

Hi, is that better than the original Avata?
In my opinion, the upgrade is worth it if the original isn't enough for you, but it will never match true fpv drones.
Did you experience frame in view if you keep the camera angle below 20 degree in manual mode?
Hi I have just followed your tutorial and after completing it I was testing my avata but it shows battery error / critical low battery and % shows 0 do you have any idea what could I have done wrong??
No one in these tutorial videos mentioned motor direction.. is there a diagram, there's no BF to change the direction. Thanks.
To change any motors direction, switch 2 of the three wires to the motor.
Are the power cables included in the Kit?
Do you really need the propguards on to fly ?

The warranty screw what is it made of acrylic?
It is a normal bolt with some glue inside the top head. just need to scrape it out.

Only where the black tape came short. looks like that stock.
@@SlayTech Thanks - I spotted it on my quad during cleaning and panic shortly followed. Curious why they'd keep it exposed like that.

What is the purpose of this upgrade weight ,power ?
Does the motors contain of CW and CCW? I dont see any indication assume they are interchangeable? Meaning any motor can be installed on any arm? Thanks

after the mod, I am not getting any visuals. its asking for gimbal calibration but its stuck at zero
sounds like the camera cables were damaged or not seated properly

Those motors only work with avata frame. New motors are 4 hole pattern.
Hi @Slaytech, I did this upgrade and the back two motors don't move, I'm assuming it's because I burned the ESCs (I used a really high solder temperature.. I know, I know). So I got a replacement board. But I realized also that the goggles won't connect anymore-- that doesn't seem to be a problem other people are having. Any advice? I think it connected the first time very briefly and then went black.
You may have fried the air unit/flight controller if you only replaced the ESC.

All I can say is check motors solder, check esc to fc cable, and make sure your battery wires are correct (the smaller ones)

I would make sure the 2 smaller wires are not mixed.
@@SlayTech They were first time but I reversed them. Is there a way to burn the ESC if you turn on the batterie with this two small cable inverted ?

@@imageprodbdx strange cause I did the splicing me tho so I don’t think I could have burnt the esc. Is strange cause was fine then I tested it and it crashed and then got the error. And says that I have 0% battery when the battery is actually fully charged

Hi everyone! After many difficulties to change to axis, I want to explain to you so that you avoid the same mistake as me!
- avoid soldering the motors directly on the ESC, i burned my card because of that even though i was very delicate with my soldering. it's a very fragile esc. if you burn, contact dji, the customer service will sell you an esc (50€)
- solder the motors in the same direction as those you remove. I made the mistake of soldering the motors in reverse so the drone did not take off but sucked the ground
- be very careful when you remove the cables with pin of the camera and the gps module, it is very fragile and I broke a pin...
- when you close the drone, be careful not to jam the gps cables, it can cut them ...
I burned my board too! Ouch. Wish I had read this comment first. At least I'm pretty sure burning it is what happened... I used a way too high temp of 820 F (437 C). When I turned it on, only two of the motors moved weakly. I've ordered a new card, wish me luck.
