I so agree with meghouin. Please don't change for us. You live in a different country, you have a different accent. Your name is Irena in your language and we know and love you as that, and I also love how you say penguin. Just be yourself, don't change for anyone. We wouldn't want you to.
Thanks Karen, really loved reading your comment. I'm back to pronouncing it in Dutch. Silly how you can be drawn to thinking that you need to change when actually everything is perfect the way it is. Thanks for the reminder!
I have loved these little penguins since the first time I saw them and if there were a way to make them that the pieces were larger I would probably do it. Hmm, I may just have to draft one myself in order to accomplish that. I love baby Jules dancing penguins quilt and can't wait for the next video.
Hi Robina! Thanks! Yes I made it myself with the help of a friend. We mounted thin layer of plywood the the wall and glued insulating boards to it. That was covered with a big sheet of batting. The insulating allow me to stick pins in there to hold up bigger pieces. Haha, I did practice, but I gave up on ever pronouncing it the right way :)
Tks Irene. I will rem that when I try to make my own. Cheers from sunny FL. Btw, you pronounce penguins properly....it's your accent that makes it so cute. Awww! Peng-wins..so cute 💖
Cute "pingwings" pattern. (We say a boring "ping wins" here in US.) I also noticed you no longer pronounce your names as Irena and Shoe. I hope you bring Jules on the last video with his quilt. ☺
Haha.. Yes strugling a bit with the penhuins ;) And I'm back to just saying Irene in Dutch as you all seem to be used to that and like it that way :)Yes! I'm planning to present the quilt to Jules in the last video.
I know you did it for clarity's sake, but it made me a little sad when you pronounced your names the English way! I love how you say them in your accent
Please don't change the pronunciation of your name, nor Jules'. We're and intelligent bunch and understand the same letters can have different pronunciations in different languages. ;o) 'Penguin' comes from Welsh. 'Pen' means 'head', and 'gwin' is a variation of 'gwen', meaning 'white'. It originally meant a different bird than our penguins. The name was extended to include them too.
Thank you so much Maghouin. Great reminder to be myself and don't change because I think others would like me to. Really appreciate, so I'm back to pronouncing it in Dutch :) Aah wonderful explanation of the word! Super interesting. Funny that they just included the penguins :)
I always am amazed at how easily you work through ideas and blocks without any real pattern to start. And your cheerful smile makes me happy too!;
And your wonderful comments make me so happy MaryAnn! Thank you :)
I don’t know what’s more adorable , this quilt or the way you pronounce penguins 🥰
Hahaha! This made me laugh and blush. I was practicing on the penguin pronunciation. But I'm not sure it's really improving haha
I think it’s perfect , you’re doing a great job ! Love your channel you are so creative and talented 🥰
There's a video of Benedict Cumberbatch saying it the same way!!!
Such a fun little quilt. Your penguins are doing a Happy Dance. Love it!
Yes they really do look happy like this!

What do you use your wee scraps for, the ones in the big bottle.
Well nothing much really haha. I just keep that jar there as a kind of bin :) Do you have any ideas what I could do with it?
I know you did it for clarity's sake, but it made me a little sad when you pronounced your names the English way! I love how you say them in your accent
Is it in English, and how much.
Hi Marge! Yes it is in English, you can find the patterns over here: www.sugaridoo.com/product-category/quilting/quilt-patterns/
