There's a reason why this video has 507 likes no dislikes.. been watching many RUclips videos to get an idea of what loop pedal to buy.... this video is better value than all the other videos I watched combined.
I’ve been toying with the idea of getting my first blooper lately. I knew I wanted a Boss product but exactly which one I wasn’t sure about, but this video was very helpful to me. Thank you!
Great video mate! You helped me make a educated choice, I just hate those bloody steel buttons because when I practice at home, I'm not wearing any shoes and its a pain
@@brandonmalone1893 Once you hear it you can't unhear it. Like the gasping after ever phrase in muses time is running out. It sounds like a case of the hiccups.
Your demo and review videos are great, man. Could you possibly do a new video with the RC-600? You you a much better job of keeping to the point and showing off the capabilities than most others!
New here to the channel & a Gr8 Video just when I need it From PMTV UK and Boss comes thru ... Im currently looking for a looping pedal & u cant got wrong with Boss for sure. I have 5 80's Boss pedals and they all still work great. Im definitely going for 1 of these 3. I really like the drum choices of the 10R...TY again for the vid.
Absolute best demonstration! I think you said you could in the video but do you have any videos of you using the RC500 set up the same way as the RC10 with the drumtrack switching for verse/chorus?
Thank you Sir! Please show me, how can i adjusted up and down volume of rhythm (Drum) on RC5 pedal. I feel the sound of Drum is too loud for the guitar volume. I want down volume of Drum, while keeping the guitar volume, i hope you can help me. Thank a lot!
Very nice demo thanks! just got the Rc500, it gave me an idea of what I can get from it! I find particularly cool the 2 outputs, you can play and loop bass and guitar on their dedicated amp :)
Amazing video Sam! I really liked your song for the Boss RC10 at 8:15min I was wondering what pedals are you using to get such a beautiful solo sound Thanks!
Thank for your very nice explanation and also quickly demos. Appreciate it a lot. Hope now I have very clear idea on what I need to buy. 🙏 thank you again. Love from India
Sam your a super talented looper. Very tight. I appreciate your video displaying the main important differences here with the different boss pedals. Very helpful. Thank you.
Great video my man. I know I’m a little bit behind the game, but I have “upgraded” from the RC3 to the RC30. I’m thinking about getting the RC5 as I’m sure it is miles away better than the RC3. I’m just hoping the whole double clicking pedal thing is not gonna be a turn-off.
Hi! is it possible to change the tracks with the footswitch while playing? For instance, I have 2 sections: verse and Chorus, is it possible to switch between both section without stopping the recording?
I've had MANY loopers, three this year alone..... boss my favorite. I've purchased two RC-5 about a year apart. This second one seems to have a volume issue with the drum tracks being excessivly LOUD! since I never experienced the problem with the first RC-5 ..... I'm gluessing the second one might be damaged? I have tried finding a global volume control with no avail. I ran a factory reset twice, with no change. I hate to sell it and pass on the problem to someone else, I also hate to take a $175 dollar loss! Any thoughts?
When recording multiple loops can you go back and turn one of and on intermittently? Or once it’s recorded and playing is there no way to turn it off without turning all the loops off?
Hi! this was a great video. Just one question, who set the drum line in the track 2? It just shows that after activating track 2 the drumms' playing changed. Thanks
Thanks for demoing these 3 units. Do either the RC5 or RC500 allow routing the drums or a click to a single output for the drummer to reference/monitor during a live performance?
The RC500 is recommended for vocals.... buuuuut there ARE two inputs on the RC-10R. I'm sure an input for a condenser mic is best quality, but has anyone popped a mic into one of the two RC-10R inputs?
I pop up a dynamic mic inside the rc500 but the very big problem went if you put reverb on effect in your loop you cannot adjust the amount of reverb in the mic it's completly link with the recording level and i have it alway too much for the mic. At least i send it back. I think maybe i will take the 505mk2 were all effects are totaly independant inside every track.
Nice demo. My question is, do you need a separate acoustic amp for the drums to play out of if playing out of an amp using the amps distortion. Obviously you don’t want tinny distorted drums sounding like your distorted guitar. I have an SR 18 drum machine going into a California blonde acoustic amp from my RC1 and my guitar going into a Katana 100 to separate the sounds.
Can I use BOSS RC-5 with dual footswitch (FS6/FS7) almost in such a way as RS10 to switch between separate loop phrases (chorus and verse)? Is it possible to achieve this by switching memory banks (smoothly?) OR by muting/stopping all loop tracks (overdub) without stopping the rhythm using some ext. midi control?
I really want to know this aswell. With possibly the use of a morningstar mc6. Have memory write, memory up and down. Record a loop in memory one, hit write then memory up. If the rhythm is the same on the next memory will it continue playing during the memory change. And will writing it interupt play and can you memory up and down inbetween two loops while they're playing or do they stop
Now after this great review I narrowed down my selection between the New Ditto + and the Boss RC10? I like the drum kit of the latter for my solo practicing. Thanks
I have the RC10R and use it daily for practice, jamming and recording, also on RUclips. The drums are really good but can get a little static if you play one style more than others. Cool thing is you can import your own drum patterns as well if you have them. Also, if you add a footswitch or two is basically works like an RC500, minus the mic input.
@@laurieslockdownmusicroom1822 I play only the Blues genre. Can this pedal accomodates this? You mentioned I could download a rhythm on the pedal. Do they store on one of the 99 memory stations? Thanks for your response
@@MegaAluchi yes the pedal has quite a few blues rhythms although one of the rhythms for blues has an out of time intro, apart from that they are all good. If you import whole midi songs then yes they need to use a phrase. If it is just drums there is a User bank in the drum storage for about 10, i think would need to check how many!
Curious if you get use an external footswitch to stop the rhythm track? Also, how do you control volume of the rhythm? Doesn't seem to have a volume slider like the rc-30
Yes it really miss a volume contrôle for the batterie in the rc 500 you must adujst it every time because it's too loud. And also you cannot stop or adjust the reverb in the mic too if you put it in your recording loop. Really the menu of this rc 500 is not user freindly at all. Finaly i send it back...
Looping has been a feature of my playing since the early 1970s. I rarely use rhythmic phrases, preferring to make ambient loops as a part of my writing. These all seem to feature timed looping. I haven’t tried any of the Boss units to see if they play nice with my looping style. I’d appreciate any comments.
Troubleshooting Drum beat on Stop is stop and hold stop it clears as it should Record is record and hold record removes previous phrase as it should Now sometimes when I press record after playing a phrase it stays red on screen and the button led starts flashing instead of going green and to playback my loop Thanks
Drums don’t sound good on a guitar amp. The ideal blooper allows to separately send guitar signal to guitar amp and drums signal to PA or something. Or has a speaker simulation to send both to PA or Headphones. RC3 cannot do that afaik. I have the RC3 too… Cannot decide if I should upgrade and if yes which one to get. There is so much conflicting information about drum quality and userfriendliness. In this demo everything seems effortless and clear. But there are others that have trouble…
A and a solution for the gainy drums: Think the looper should go in the effects loop if available. So the drums won’t be distorted by the preamp… If no effect loop available the amp has to be clean and you could use an overdrive pedal in front of the looper…
Same as you i buy a rc 500 and then send it back because it's not at all a user freindly menu. There are too many things to configure before recording. It's not at all you plug and play and record. Too many things that i do not like inside to be honnest. This new serie of looper boss are totaly a non sence for me. They are to complicate to use them as the old rc 3. It's really a pity it seems they do not give it to a guitarist and ask him how do you feel. Finaly i keep my old rc 3...

Do you apply effects such as distortion in this setup? If so, do you use guitar pedals or simply the katana settings? I worry about accidentally applying distortion/unwanted effects to the drum sounds
