This is about the 10th RC-500 tutorial video I have watched, but the first one to mention how to undo an overdub. Thank you! Every video seems to assume the user has used loopers before, skip the basics and keep comparing the RC-500 to previous versions. This is my first looper pedal, so I am late to the party.
Great video, Sam ! I've watched a few of your how-to/overview videos and they are always well structured and with clear explanations. Keep up the good work 🙂
Thank you for this great review ! I am thinking of getting the RC-500 to replace my RC-30. I actually thought this model would have 2 outputs. (one for the microphone, and one for the guitar - so you can loop and send signals to you mix table and guitar amp respectively.) -- Apparently, this cannot be done which is too bad. Could you think of another model, similar to this one in size that could do the trick ? many thanks for the help !
very nice, thank you. Is there a way to start recording on top of something that you have stopped from playing? Like play and rec option? Thank you so much in advance
Thanks for the video. I have a question. Is it possible to assign a pedal to switch between two different drums? And I would also like to know if I can have different drums assigned to each of the two tracks. Thank you
Wow- your playing is amazing. A true one man band. I have this pedal and I am very much still learning. This video helped. I have two questions. 1. Is there a way to make a global setting once so that that Tempo and Volume and other settings are saved (to all 99 presets?) So far, I am having to do this on every single track which is time consuming. I mostly want a Rock Beat + Rock Patten, around 100bpm, Volume 15. 2. How can I get stereo out for my headphones- do I need a Y adapter? When I plug into A it's only Mono. The sound quality of this looper is great as are the features. The FX not so much for guitar except maybe Reverb and Vinyl Flick.
You can tune parameters in MEMORY99 (for example) and save all (but clear before the audio with STOP button if audio exist) in this memory with a new name if you want, perhaps MODEL 01. When you want use this model, you select it (99) with the rotate button and save it with a new name on an other memory patch. That''s all. Enjoy.
Hi, I just got my rc-500. It's a great pedal. I tried using Shure SM58 with it. Even with mic gain knob all the way up, the mic volume is too low. Is there a solution for this?
Thanks for the great review. I'd like to get this looper and run the rhythm (drum machine) thru another amp or speakers. I understand i can send that signal thru another amp other than my guitar amp. I have some powered QSC speakers (K2 Series - 10.2). Can I run the rhythm direct to that? I don't have a mixer. If so, should it be connected to mic/line or hi-z/line? Is this the optimal set up? I've also heard bass amps can be good for drum tracks low frequencies. Lastly, what about the vocal track? I don't want that running thru the guitar amp. Can that be run to my powered speakers as well. Thank you!
Without getting into the details, I believe so. You can easily dedicate the outputs to different amps. I have my bass guitar and drums going to one amp. My guitar to another.
Great demo and playing . Upgraded from an RC30 Was fairly easy to use with the double clicking and all that . This sounds so much better . When I over dubb im always off by a second or two . Didnt have this issue with RC 30 . Must be doing something wrong . Any help would really be appreciated . Thanks from the USA00
@@cjpilla1202 Really dont notice any delay . While the rc 500 is better in many ways such as sound quality , rhythm tracks , and memory , I don't like having to scroll through menus . It makes it impossible to do things on the fly live . Also the lack of 1/8 aux input is a disappointment . Still prefer it over the rc 30 , just wish they kept some of the simpler features
Hello and thank you for your video! I am a solo performer and I would like to know if I can incorporate a pre-recorded backing track into my live shows, I just want to play over the top of my backing tracks. I've created them on a DAW and I want to import them from my mac into the RC-500. On stage, I would like to simply trigger the start of a new song with my foot without bending down (if possible) Thank you
yes, my parameters : * T2 * LOOP. S = OFF (loop synchro OFF) * MEMORY * PLAY * PLAY MODE = SINGLE * SINGLE CHANGE = LOOP END * TRACK CHAIN = SERIES (default is PARALLEL) * ASSIGN2= ON * SOURCE = CUR TR CHG * SRC MODE = TOGGLE * TARGET = T2 PLY/STP
I always had trouble with the early gen loopers, boss, in particular though they all had it I'm sure; Either the recorded loop, or your guitar sound quality would suck, there was no way to have both loop and guitar sound great. My guess is that this is not the case with the RC500 or the RC 5 for that matter.
I’m having trouble with the RC 500 . I playback a guitar part I’ve recorded and it sounds fine. But, when I turn off the power to the ex 500 and then turn it back on the guitar sounds wobbly. Does anyone know why?
Hi! I am very very new to looping technology and bought this hoping to add vocal harmonies to my solo gigs to begin with! But! I plug the system into my amp, and I plug my mic into the system, but do NOT hear anything. What am I missing?
How do you set the loop record function so that it will stop at the end of a measure without having to time it just so? Like, can you set it so that it will just stop after four or eight measures on its own? (Anyone who knows feel free to answer).
Hi! I have an issue with my Boss RC-500 looper, and am hoping you might be able to help? I think it only happens on track 2 and when something is already recorded on track 1. I record on tr 2, then I press pedal 1 again to have it play back. It doesn't play back right away, but first the pdl 1 light flashes red for a few sec, only then it plays back, causing a delay...haven't found a solution yet. Thanks!
Hi, is there a way to get the guitar recording out of Out B and the vocal recording out of Out A in order to send the first to the amp and the second to the vocal system?
From my understanding the rc30 has a decent amount of delay when pressing the foot switch and the rc20 has little to none. How much does the rc500 have
My parameters * MEMORY * CONTROL * CTRL1 FUNC (FS6 foot switch B) = OFF so we can play with ASSIGNx, see my example) * CTRL2 FUNC (FS6 foot switch A) = RYTHM P/S to play or stop drums rythm * ASSIGN1 = ON * SOURCE = CTRL1 PEDAL * SRC MODE = TOGGLE * TARGET = VARIATION So we have rythm START/PLAY on switch A and variation A or B on switch B
My RC-500 has a longish (5 seconds or so) delay AFTER I hit STOP. I notice this behavior even more on longer loops. At first I think I missed the button or the looper is broken, but several seconds later, it finally stops. This really throws me off. Especially because the Drums/Rhythm keeps going. To be usable, it needs to STOP immediately. I have about 10 other memories saved. Is it a buffer/memory issue? Do I need to update firmware? I have done resets in the past. I have it plugged into a 300ma supply. Do I need to upgrade the PSU? Otherwise I really love the Looper. Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? If my loop is very short, say 5 seconds, it STOPS immediately. Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

This guy needs a pay increase, all these looper videos are great
I’m late to the party, but this is an excellent video. Informative content and beautifully constructed. Be proud of it!
The intro just by itself is AMAZING! Thank you for this fantastic content
Excellent demo, informative without being patronising and free from waffle, product pushing and ego. Cheers, Sam
Incredibly informative and very well explained and demonstrated! Thank you for the great video.

Excellent, definitely the most helpful demo of this unit that I've watched, and lovely music, too - thanks!
Just scored one today and can't wait to unleash the possibilities!!!
Thanks for the tutorial/overview, and
thanks for no Midroll Ads!
Really nice, accessible demo - thanks for posting, Sam.
Honestamente, es el video más didactico y mejor explicado que he encontrado sobre este pedal. Gracias.
Best demo ever!,....thanks.
Outstanding number just before 10:00 in.
Definitely saving this for when mine arrives, very useful demo thank you sir
This demo has helped me so much! Thank You!
Great review PMT. Btw... the reviewer is a fantastic player. 🤘
A very good demo and demonstration. Nice playing also!
excellent demo. great playing, too!
This video is so helpful! Def best one on this Boss that I've seen. Thanks man!
This was very informative, thank you!
like the vocal looping demo
Thank you dude. Spot on tutorial!
Final product Amazing.
Great job.
Great demo, and great playing too.
Awesome tutorial 👏🏻 and lovely strat color!!
Great review, thx for the content
Nice job man. That was awesome! :)
Excellent concise tutorial!! Thank you!
Really helpful guide, much appreciated!
Thank you for setting me up!

Nice intro jam 👍

Great video. Quick question. Is there a way to clear a track without clearing the entire memory?? Thx

Thank you, I just bought that looper

How are you using overdrive on the amp, without it effecting the drums?
Cool. Helpful.
Great stuff
Can you record multiple instruments? New to looping.

Does the rc500 have less delay on the switches?

Don’t think this is the right tool for that particular job
Great demo thanks! In single track mode, can the two tracks be of different length? So a long verse and a shorter chorus?
yes, my parameters :

Thank you for your video. Does it have Latin drums or percussion loops?

try the mic level thingy on the upper right. make sure phantom power is on too if needed.
Cool tutorial but the reffs were excellent 👍👍
you make that look easy!
That's awesome

is it possible to save a loop using one of the foot pedals (even extension pedals)? i cant find any reference to this anywhere.

What bass effect pedal are you using please ? :O
Hi, is there a way to get the guitar recording out of Out B and the vocal recording out of Out A in order to send the first to the amp and the second to the vocal system?
I think theres an option somewhere deeeep in the menu lol im like 96% sure
Jesus Christ, that was helpful. Thank you!
The two loops track sync each other ?
Just received it doesn’t even power on with batteries. Although update completed correctly
What about the odd times? I'm trying to understand if there's something like that to play with.
Can this pedal work out the tempo of the recorded loop, then play the drums?
How to delete a recorded loop? Or currently testing loop prior to saving on a memory file?
What is the max length of the loop?
How many overdubs pro track its posible to do?
Great player Sam!

What PSA did you used here mate?
If you had a rc 500 and fs6 what would you recommend for the fs6 settings? Looking at doing the single verse chorus mode. Thnaks
My parameters
* MEMORY
* CONTROL
* CTRL1 FUNC (FS6 foot switch B) = OFF so we can play with ASSIGNx, see my example)
* CTRL2 FUNC (FS6 foot switch A) = RYTHM P/S to play or stop drums rythm
* ASSIGN1 = ON
* SOURCE = CTRL1 PEDAL
* SRC MODE = TOGGLE
* TARGET = VARIATION
So we have rythm START/PLAY on switch A and variation A or B on switch B
@@MisterGissi thanks ... enjoy your videos
What are the inputs and outputs connected to?
5:24 thought i was in a homedepot commercial there for a second
Would this go after a multi fx pedal as far as sequence order goes?
I realise this reply is late but yes I would put it at the end of the chain.
Nice.
If I play a track in clear then play another track in distortion they mix.not sure what to do
Im guessing you have and effect to the voices from other source?
Does it actually have a numbered tempo this time? Say I wanted exactly 120bpm?
Yes, you can tap or use the memory/value knob to get exactly 120.
Can you upload a song, for practicing along with?

How do change memory slots
His voice reminds me of a narrator on a BBC documentary
Step 1 should be…. How to turn it on…would help…
Informative, but too much of your playing makes this longer than necessary.
