Amazing demo Jay! It's beautiful to see a musician that's actually happy and smiley, instead of bored and buried in technical details. Made my day! Please keep up the amazing work!!
Notice to all gear manufacturers: Pay this man! Have enjoyed Jay's demos for years - absurdly talented, but it's the pure joy in his demos that really set him apart. Jay exhibits on camera how we feel when we bond with a new piece of gear.
I love your playing and rhythmic enthusiasm. This demo sold me on the RC-500. Laying down a track and then having the RC-500 match the rhythm tempo to the guitar line is an incredible creative tool (Rhythm: Rec End feature). I saw that feature in your demo and got an RC-500. Two weeks later, it far surpasses any expectation. The flexibility and power of this device is next generation looper. The ease of hitting the one with the accurate button/switches makes looping fun and easy. I had timing difficulties with some other brands of loopers, but this Boss unit works right out of the box. I then added a midi controller to give me some more flexibility. Thanks for the demo and thanks for the great music!
Good to hear you are happy with the RC-500, Adam. I am hoping to have one in my hands this week and also ordered a midi controller for it (got the airstep). Good to know others have been happy with it all! Jay makes it look so easy.
I’ve never felt so happy after watching a demo. Lol Your joy and passion are infectious, Jay! Your guitar skills are incredible! Very inspiring! LOVED LOVED LOVED your sound!
It's been a while since I've used the rhythm function, but I'm pretty it is an automatic function If you set the start perameter to "REC END". Good luck.
I don't think anyone has more fun playing guitar than you Jay. Paul Gilbert might be close lol. Subscribed because your energy and the fun you have playing is an inspiration to play more! Keep em' coming!
Ok... THAT WAS CRAZY!!!!!! I had no idea it had those FX on it. It wasn't listed or advertised on the official site/channel or in any of the other videos i watched. (Multiple like you said. lol) I'm sold... I'm ordering one today!
It's like a 'new' band member that shows up on time, stays sober, and shuts up when you're trying to get a point accross. 😂 Tree-fiddy??? Pffft... Priceless! I'm late, but excellent demo man!
Was coming for the looper but am amazed by the GT1000-core. Boss just rocks this year (or since the -200 series back years), thanks for the demo!! Awesome playing! Cheers
Hi, congratulations for the video! A question, can I use the external pedal (BOSS FS-7 or FS-6) to start (and possibly stop) a backig track (a .wav file saved in "track" memory)? Thank you.
Can you tell me what the effect paddle is you use to switch. And HOW can you kevel the volume for all the different layers? Hope you can help. Your demo is appetizing and very appealing. I bought the machine!
Finally a clear answer to the RC 10's disappointment. Can the drum machine sync or change its tempo with your composed chord progression. That is all that I wanted to know. Thanks for giving us a straight and clear answer.
Great demo....great loop skills...I have a question...can you use the loop effects without an external foot Swich?...I mean can you use the pedal buttons to activate it?...
i just bought the RC500 and noticed an immediate problem. when i record a loop in either track and alter the tempo even slightly, it cause the loop soung to distort as a warble. i've updated the system version to 1.02 and turned off all loop FX, still the same problem. i've contacted Boss and waiting for an answer. do i have a defective unit or is this a product design defect?
In theory yes but in the past midi sync was not always possible with older loopers that could do this in theory also... I am curious to know whether somebody already tried this with the rc 500...
Whoa this is actually freaking amazing. I just did a looper performance on my page but I’m working my way up to this skill level right here(.....gunna be a bit of a climb lol) and your a single coil guy? Telecaster for life man 🤙🤙 you inspire me and make me want to quit at the same time lol
Hi everyone! I have an issue with RC-5 & Rc-505. When using the loopers as midi clock slave devices, synced to Maschine software, there are glitches / artefacts all over the place. BOSS recommends to turn Tempo Sync off for each track to avoid those issues, but this led to another issue (tracks start / skip bars / stop randomly). SO that was not a solution. I have contacted BOSS about this, they said they tested it with Ableton and it works fine, but in general their loopers dont like to be slaved. However, no matter how i put the MIDI settings on the looper, nothing helps. Is this also the case with RC-500?
Im still trying to work out how to use it for drums and a loop just for guitar solo. I bought to play live, but now Im thinking it cant do what I want it to. I basically want it as drums, and mid-song guitar loop for the guitar solo. -Start a song on guitar -Start drums -Record a Verse loop (to solo over later) -Start loop and solo> Stop loop -play out the rest of the song -Stop drums Any tips very much appreciated!
You can unpair the drum machine and looper by holding on the second footswitch till the LED lights change color. That way you can start and stop your guitar loop without effecting the drum machine.
Definitely Gonna Make Some Jam With This Cool Pedal I Don’t Believe I Can Touch What You Did But Hey It’s Gonna Be Fun Time At My House👍👍🎶🎶🎸Well Done J.
Thanks for the demo! What I'm finding with the auto rhythm is if you play anything below ~80bpm, it doubles the speed and plays the drums in 150 and up... I'm hoping they can fix this in a firmware... or am I doing something wrong?
If you enable the function, the RC-500 will recognize your loop tempo and automatically change its internal tempo to match your loop 👍

Hi Mathew, excuse me for this question, but did you figure it out? I'm going crazy here, 'cause I cannot seem to find 'the function'. I would love to set the recording-pedal in standby for recording, then set the tempo by playing the guitar and then let the drums fill in....just like the video For now I cannot find 'the function' Any help is really appreciated, Thanks!
@ Did you have any luck finding out how this works? I have the same question. Would be very grateful if anyone could help. Thanks!

Amazing demo Jay! It's beautiful to see a musician that's actually happy and smiley, instead of bored and buried in technical details. Made my day! Please keep up the amazing work!!

A lot of youtubers need to take note of this format, play first, talk after.
A lot of those who do need to remember not to play too long at the beginning.

That intro track was so sick!
Thanks!
I bought this looper because of this video and it is awesome. Why didn't I buy it before. Thank you man and the engineers
I really appreciate it! Glad this video helped you find what you were looking for :)
One of the few reviews so far that demonstrates/combines great playing and useful info about the features of the RC-500. Thanks
Wow why can't all demos be this awesome and joyously infectious? Nice work bro
Well damn Jay, how are any of us meant to follow that?
I think my demo will just be a direct link to this video.
Excellent work.
Haha, looking forward to watching your bro!
Dude. Such a fantastic tutorial! And your enthusiasm and obvious passion for what you do led me to subscribe 🤙

Hiya Jay... Do you know if the RC-500 can be set to use the two different tracks separately to compose & trigger between a bridge & chorus?
great review.. are they gonna fix this rhythm problem sync with rc 10 r automatically sync with playing..
What kinda settings do you use so the drums follow the your tempo?
Can you connect two mono inputs at same time and route one for track 1 and the other for track 2?
Yup!
Hi Jay, Great video! May I ask how you set the kit to sync with your loop tempo as seen at 5:35?
in RHYTHM put START to REC END
Great Demo
Truly amazing.
How programmable is the drum machine? Can you put your own stuff into that? If not, how deep does it go with genres, time sigs, so forth?
Finally this adress the issue with rc10r
yesss I hope they will fix it....

fast it fades out. Sometimes called aging on other loopers.

Great gig man.
One question if you know, what are the main difference between this one and the RC-5 and different uses of each one?
Thanks!!!
Congrats for this video! Just a question : is there a way to fade out the rythm track?
How did you have the drum loop match the tempo of your riff?
If you enable the function, the RC-500 will recognize your loop tempo and automatically change its internal tempo to match your loop 👍
