    as an aspiring industrial designer your in depth videos are a blessing
    I bought a takumi sen 9 because the deal was irresistible, but this honestly sounds better for me because my previous shoe was the allbirds x adidas and it's almost exactly as you describe this shoe, all I wanted was more snappiness. AHHH but that shoe was 5 ounces.

      I think they both have there place. I have some testing to do. However, if I had to pick one it would likely be the Adios 8.

    Thx so much for this…. I have a new pair sitting in the box ready to return - but, I was still weighing the pros and cons against my hyperion tempos and topo cyclone 2s - my go-to daily trainers w/ significant miles on them. Gotta say, the adios 8 has what feels like perfect cushioning for me - my tempos actually feel hard in comparison - may actually hang on to these.
    Love this channel - my apologies, I just discovered it via Tim gross’! Best analysis I’ve seen.

    I have this with 50 miles and I love it. I can use it for intervals or tempo and even for easy runs. I think is pretty in line with the old Boston Boost series more than the Adios Boost series. Great review!

      I agree, the Adios 8 is as close to the old Boston 9 as is made by Adidas, or anyone else. It's not exactly the same but, sadly, as close as we will get post 2017...

    I have to say, I like your style of shoe analysis..much more detail and analytical compare to all other show reviewer..right up in my alley..keep it up sir…
    I have tried Adios 7 on 2 runs..and the firm midsole works really wonder…reminds me a lot of my Adizeo Adios 2, the old one..before the Zoom era..that brick-like midsole really fly when you pick up the pace..sadly the Upper material and it’s narrow last made me give up the Adios 7..my right pinky toe just get squashed all the time…seeing this review, I might try the Adios 8…

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад

      I remember those shoes. Something to be said about the old flats for sure.
      The Adios 8 has the modern Adidas last with the wider forefoot. Total opposite of the submarine lasts adidas used to use. So far the Adios Pro 3, Adios 8 and Boston 12 have this last and it’s great. The Adios 8 is the only one with a good upper though. The Adios Pro 3 is a nightmare and the Boston 12 is just ok.
      Thank you for the kind words on the content. I’m trying to put a different voice out there in this space. One I thought was missing. I’m glad it resonates. 🙌🏻

    Great video. Thank you. I would bow to no one in my love of the Takumi Sen 8/9 but…. Having taken the Adios 8 out for a run I am wavering. I find the Adios is a ‘purer’ running experience - it gives me more feedback on good or sloppy biomechanics. As such, I think it is a more disciplined training shoe for workouts and faster intervals. I would, though, still race my 5k or 10k in the Takumi.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад +2

      You hit the nail on the head here. This is why I love shoes like the Adios 8 or the Streakfly. They offer (as you say) a "purer" running experience (or as I have said) a more direct experience. So it puts the emphasis on you, your mechanics and overall training stimulus, which nets you better training and workouts as you don't have a shoe helping you through that hard work. So when you put on a race shoe, like the Takumi Sen 8/9...you can literally fly.

  • @tav4755
    @tav4755 Год назад +1

    I am excited. I have the 6. Skipped the 7 because the 6 has been so durable. (Well over 300 miles and still going strong). I would say if you could only have one in your rotation, between the sen or adios, i would recommend the adios. More versatile. That being said, theres no way i pick the adios over the takumi in a track session, threshold road or 10k race. The takumi is just too good and lighter. Also im a heel striker but im sure the adios 8 will work. I like lower stack. Ran in the terrex speed pro last week. Very good analysis!

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад

      I much prefer a flexible non-plated shoe for track work, so it’s really between the A8 and Streakfly for me right now. On the road though… it depends on what I’m trying to do.
      The TS9 is a race shoe, 100%. So I’ll pick the A8 for versatility, especially given that I’d race in the AP3 if I was to race in an Adidas shoe.
      Thanks for the kind words. 🙏🏻

    Hey,thank you very much for the informative video. I was just wondering how would you compare the adios 8 to magic speed 3?

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад +1

      Very different. The MS3 is very much a modern carbon plated shoe. Lots of toe spring and snap fork the plate. Really fun shoe to run in.
      The A8 is much more of a traditional ride. Closer to a Streakfly than anything, just not as soft.
      I actually think they work well together as partners. The A8 does intervals and shorter tempo well and the MS3 is a great longer tempo shoe.

  • @jmac13131
    @jmac13131 Год назад +1

    I would guess the Takumi Sen is the dedicated 5/10k racer where this would be more of your interval/threshold trainer. I know a lot of runners use the Takumi as the speed day trainer but I think the outsole is thinner and would wear out faster (but not necessarily prematurely) than the Adios 8. Just my thoughts. Also, I won’t buy this right now considering that I have the 7 and the Takumi Sen 8 but I look forward to it when it gets heavily discounted to $65-75.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад

      I think you are right. The TS9 is the dedicated racer, but isn’t as durable as the A8. The A8 is a better interval trainer as well.

  • @nicorivera8535
    @nicorivera8535 Год назад

    The shoe sounds very promising, however I’m not sure if it’s worth it considering my uses for it will overlap with my Streakfly. I might appreciate its increased width and firmness though.

    What is the place of the Boston 12 if you think this will the training partner to the Pro 3?

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад +1

      The Boston 12 is a cushioned trainer, bordering between a daily and tempo trainer. You can do both in the B12.
      So inconsiderate the A8 the trianing partner to the AP3 for interval, shorter tempo and some daily trianing. If you prefer a more minimal shoe then this shoe could do it all for you.
      Otherwise it’s likely best pared with a B12 for a more cushioned option.

    How do you find the width of this shoe compared to the width in the Endo Speed 3? Is there less of a taper? Thanks!

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  4 месяца назад +1

      Never ran in the ES3, of had it on my foot. The Adios 8 is a fairly wide forefoot, but specially for Adidas. It uses the same last as the AP3 and B12… so maybe look for comparisons with the ES3 with either of those shoes.
      I can say, compared the the forefoot taper in the ES4… the A8 is much more foot shaped and natural fitting.

    Any heel slippage?

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Год назад

      None for me, but I rarely get any. The heel counter is very minimal and there isn’t a ton of padding in the heel collar. I could see some people getting a little. However the lacing is very good and long, so a runners knot would fix it if it did happen.
