Nice to see a video about Doom in my feed. It's a game series I started playing in 2018, and have loved DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal since. I'm thinking about going back and trying the older DOOM games now! They seem really fun, as well

I though about this once and came to the conclusion that if the doomguy was fighting humans it would just feel... uncomfortable and edgy. Showing as much brutality towards humans as possible, like you said that is just average shock factor. Hatred tried that and people still call it the edgies game that existed. So why i think that demons work (and nazis in wolfenstein) cause if the enemy you are fighting wont show you mercy, why should you.
