indeed. he would of been fabulous hearing him get older. I think he would of tamed down his heavy rock and made some amazing semi rock albums. the technology was getting better even just by the 70s. a great loss

It looks like you can do so many cool, atmospheric things with this! I think of reverse delay as a 'psychedelic' pedal for 60s rock, but I see so much more potential here.

amazing demo R.J! i'm torn with this pedal tho, i'm glad they brought it back, because the hype on the original is getting ridiculous, but i'm also sad that it's much more expensive that it was back in the days, but the saddest part is the enclosure! i really don't know how to feel with this reissue.
It's only more expensive because they know the value on the used market for the originals. Crazy how they can just bump the price for the exact same circuit (which, theoretically, should be cheaper) and nobody cares. What's wrong with the enclosure? Did you prefer the less standardized unique shapes? The footswitches always annoyed me.
@@BarnacleButtock yeah i really liked the old enclosures, it was unique , it was cheap and fragile for sure but it was something that had an identity. now it's everything in a hammond enclosures haha. Don't you think they looked great?
So anyway yeah, i've since then just got a tc flashback 2 for the reverse sound, it works great and i can also use the tape sim , so no regrets here!

Has anyone compared the sound of the reissue with that of the original?
I was wondering the same thing. I have the original and it doesn't sound anything like in this demo. But I'd like to hear them side by side
slimturnpike Funny, because its the exact same circuit. Perhaps yours is broken then?
@@Strangel72 Actually the circuits are not a 1 to 1 match at all. Some of the parts in the original are not available now, but more importantly the source code for the microcontroller disappeared along with its original creator. What's totally obvious when you A/B the units - now that I have both - is that the range of delay times is far narrower for the reissue. You can't get the repeats as quickly as on the original or as slowly as the original. Secondly the nature of the 'swell', the reverse attack, is more in your face in the original. By contrast the RI sounds tamer, less interesting to my ears.

Killer pedal. But the reissue EXH Attack Decay coupled with any delay pedal gives you this plus so much more. Buy the Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay. Or don't. It's my 'secret pedal'.
