I appreciate the way you presented the simplistic options for delay pedals. Most videos I’ve seen are a waste of time. Thank you.
Your delay 'mimic' was killer !!! ... Thank you for your expert demonstration!
This is the most clear tutorial of delay I have found. Bravo.
Glad it was helpful!
ı totally agree with you well done to your succesful job
that solo at 2:41, wow. forget the delay, absolutely killer tone and playing.
I thought that
he hits a bunch of wrong notes....
which is why i like it
Great technique suggestions for my favorite effect. And I learned a few things as well after all these years!
My god that dotted 8th piece you played was amazing! Great job mate 😮
Very nice video. For once, a down-to-earth guy with useful tipps, unlike most of the other pedal videos I've seen.
Great demo....loved it!
Είσαι φοβερός, φίλε!!😊
I love these effects and tricks!
All the info I needed 💪🏼
Awesome presentation!
Great video.... very helpful !!
You getting into Roy Buchanan territory with those swells and that tele! Great video.
Got another one: delay in front of your overdrive with rate and mix on full and time at min. It makes for an insane transitional sound
Carefully. Some delays will simply self-oscillate without any additional input with repeats and mix on full. Also this is mentioned at 7:00
If you put an analog delay set around 300ms and depth and repeats almost off before a dirt pedal it's instant Ain't Talkin Bout Love (that's a Pete Thorn tip)
Isn’t it easier to learn how to play the instrument, and not try to hide your own playing?
@@BrenQ99what do you mean?
Yassou.... from America. I just got back from Greece... It was a fantastic break from all the nonsense going on over here.
Great video. Thanks so much. Time to get the dusty delay pedal out
Love that Tagima guitar. Gotta get one. Great video. Thanks!
man...mighty fine player
That was fun! I’d love more of these with other pedals too
Love that lick at start of vid !
Great copying the delay at the end. I'm going to start using this technique!
my goodness your delay mimicking was better than any other real delay sounds 😂
Man, killer playing😮
Great video!
Great technique. 👌🏼
Yiasas! Bravo good video!
great job!
Incredible. Now I understand Stars of The Lid's secret.
Nice job Nikos! Appreciate the different features from the various delay models. Tele sounds great, Love that Memory Man - very interested in adding it to my gear. ευχαριστώ πολύ !
Well done
BRAVO!
Excellent.
7 years later: The quarter notes and dotted eighths combo is a lot like the "halo" setting on the the Keeley Andy Timmons Halo delay pedal. I do like how Peter mixes the two echoes to his tastes though. That's something that's currently unavailable in the Halo.
title should have read "sounds of whales" rofl, amazing vid, great playing, cheers
Great video. One more technique is delay time short (but not too short), feedback on 99 and play very short and percussive notes or chords. Granular sound! :) Then you can also move the delay time and have fun with oscillation.
I will always be a sucker for a nice slapback tone
The sounds around 4:30 are 👌🏻
3:47 "even a whale!" lol
Just the sound I've been looking for for my cover version of Led Zeppelin's "Moby Dick".
love the way he said “or even a whale” lmao
what overdrive/distortion pedal and other gear did you use ? great sounds!
What the guitar did you use? Thank you
What song was played in the intro?
❤
I don't understand why the setings for logn delay are giving me the sound for Welcome to the jungle intro, had to back down all the Feedback and Time knobs to get the effect mentioned in the video.
this dude looks like he gon get up and beat me to death if i say a single word while he talk
8:29 Yes... But where do I start? Where do I begin?
Am I correct? This amp does not have an XF loop. So Im assuming you're going into the front of the amp?
Ever since Digital Delay Pedals became available, analog [cloudy] delays are defunct in my rig.
Just my subjectivity, analog delays are like going backwards.
Any way you use them.
Kinda missing that most of us desire that grit from analog delays - hell. that's basically the point of a tape echo. Digital will never simulate tape echo properly (thought the new RE-201 gets REALLY close)
@@Keithhatesy0u I never had like an echo plex, but..My Dad had a real to real Teac and could engage so there was echo, on tape, but was crystal clear. I expermented alot as a kid beginner, but never forgot that clear sound. And listening to Live At Leeds; Pete got a super clean sound. I had a Ross analog that was ok, before it hit any distortion, but just sounded muddy like analog do, when doing clean stuff. Once I bought a Boss DD-3 in 1985, I was set. I use a couple Yamaha Magicstomps now, and all patches I use, are digital delays.. I know some guys love analog, I just grew up with a different perspective.... echo must be crystal clear... but thats just me.
@@Keithhatesy0u Just my subjective choice mate, a premium tape echo is clear. Analog has never been my cup of tea.
I agree 100%. Why would you want repeats that are muddy and you can’t make out the notes?
5:20 touché 6:03
who makes that guitar
Taey kang guitars - made in Korea! You can google it
I loved messing with my delay pedal until it went out a month after I bought it. I can't re-buy it because it seems that Donner has discontinued it.
Messing with? That would make a pedal “go out”
Suggestion: the Aquarius Delay by Joyo is a cheap delay with all the options you could want, an absolutely killer reverse delay function, and can be found pretty cheap.
