This type of egg pudding is comfort food for a lot of East Asians. China Japan and Korea all have their own take on it and they’re all amazing! I practically grew up on this stuff and highly recommend trying it if you haven’t!

Omg you and your lovely Mama have saved me, I used to LOVE Portuguese egg tarts, was missing them. Now I can make a Carnivore/Keto friendly version without the pastry! I simply used 1/2 cream 1/2 water for the liquid portion, dash of vanilla, added nutmeg, cinnamon. It was soooooo easy. I didn’t have little steel bowls, but I had thin ceramic and it turned out fine and cooked quickly. Thank you!

OMG I just raised the egg pudding game so high it’s inconceivably good! Made it with 3 lg eggs (3 yolks, just one white) together with pork bone broth. Turns out thicker and CREAMIER with less whites. WOW! Ate it with soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil. I also discovered a great tip: smear the bowl with oil prior to adding the eggs -I used bacon grease. It prevents the egg mixture from caking to the sides and being very difficult to clean.

I experimented using the stainless steel bowl but the eggs would rise like a souflee and be runny in the middle but firm on the outside. I tried different temps with the same result. Then I tried a pyrex glass bowl little thicker than the SS but it turned out perfect! Cooked evenly throughout came out like a perfect custard. Thats the way I like it, more firm. This has become my new favorite way to have eggs. Thank you so much SB Gal.
P.S. a sprinkle of nutmeg on top is da bomb!

I was craving something like this, in the form of a flan 🍮 so more toward the sweet. I used water, added a dash of vanilla and a pinch of Himalayan pink salt while mixing.
The cooking took longer than you suggested.
Upon completion, while still warm, I drizzled some honey over the top. Because it was warm, a little honey spread evenly over all.
It was delicious warm but I chilled half of it and it was equally as delicious as a cold pudding.

I stickblend eggs into HOT meat broth with butter and s&p and a lil hot pepper vinegar and it foams up and is delish
It works with HOT coffee too or tea, if that’s ur thing (bulletproof coffee raised up a notch)

😋🤤 Recipe starts at around 6:45 This is delicious! Savory or sweet. It’s really good with sour cream, chives, salt & pepper. Or for a sweet version try vanilla, monk fruit sweetener & heavy whipping cream.

    • @ABMcKee

I absolutely love this! Made mine in a thin dollar store cake pan, put on a silicone mat in a frying pan with a cover that has a small vent. I ate it with sesame oil and soy sauce. I might add some scallion slices on top next time, a reminder of ‘jouk’ (I probably really spelled that wrong) a rice porridge breakfast I had when visiting China. I also tried it with cream, berries, allulose, but prefer the savory.

Love this recipe. I have made it savoury and sweet. For the sweet I used almond milk, vanilla, eggs and a few drops stevia. I made a caramel sauce to go on the bottom of a ceramic dish, made of bocha sweet and Splenda brown sugar. Then popped it in fridge to cool for an hour or so. It was perfection. Oh I also strained the egg mixture.
