Looks alot like a dessert we do in Sweden called "Kalvdans" (Calfs Dance) made from "raw milk", the milk that gets produced first after calving.
Made with sugar, cinnamon and cardamom and cooked on low heat for an hour in a regular oven. Tastes very good.
Its quite special since its not everyday a calf gets born, and of course most of the time the milk is for the calf to drink. =)
That is very interesting!
It’s called Colostrum in English 🤤
Even if you have a Lux instant pot you can get to low pressure using the porridge mode. If you click on that mode it goes right to low pressure. I have a Lux model
A splash of vanilla in the eggs would be delicious!
Yes! Vanilla is a great addition. Cinnamon too ☺️🤤
@@IndigoNili I’m just now starting this way of eating… this is amazing!!!
@@debbiekerekes4209 you won't miss the old junk! I've been keto for 3 years and when I fall off the wagon, I hate the way I feel and can't wait to get back to low carb. Enjoy the journey!❤️
@@milliesecond102 thank you so much. I’m 65 and have a LOT of oxalate damage to undo. Right now I’m just so grateful to have found a possible solution! I call myself a Carniveto! Mostly Carn and a bit of “eto” 😊
@@debbiekerekes4209 yep,i’m a ketovore.
I bake it in the oven with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. So good and custardy.
I love egg pudding!! But I do use the high setting on my instant pot, with no foil and cook for 15 minutes. It comes out perfect. I also use a glass bowl. I’m also at 5600 feet altitude. So that maybe a difference. Thank you for sharing. 💕🥰💕
I have a very simple Sunbeam steamer from a garage sale ($5!)
Made a 2 egg recipe (+ sweetener and vanilla), divided in 2 ramekins. Steamed 18’. Turned out excellent.
The great thing about the steamer is it begins to cook instantly and you can peek easier while cooking
Jacob is a little sweetie! Congratulations to you all and enjoy that little bundle of joy! They grow up so fast that's for sure and need to enjoy every single minute.
This looks like the custard my mom used to make in the mornings before school. I will be trying this for lunch. Thank you for sharing.
I love this! Have it almost every morning-thank you!! I use the silicone lid to my 3 qt pot to cover my bowl.
I have tried this using Bella's recipe...it really is delicious and versatile with topping options. Thank you for posting.
Great videos and ideas. Thank YOU! And your kids are so sweet!
Highly recommend topping with a bit of Allulose "maple syrup". I do about 1.5 tsp per serving.....a little cinnamon doesn't hurt either. So yummy.
This is one of my favorite breakfasts since seeing Bella make it! . Bella says the ideal is no bubbles. Other people I have watched strain the bubbles off the top before steaming.
What an interesting recipe. I'll have to give it a try. Always looking for simple protein rich breakfasts.
Wow! This is so much better than I thought it would be! Used water, then I dressed it up with heavy cream and dark cherries. I also used a wee bit of sweetener. Delish!
This looks like chawanmushi which is a savory Japanese dish that I love. I can see how versatile this is. Easy to reduce the amounts in ramekins! Thank you for the time variation based on amounts. I will be trying this for sure!
Thank you for this recipe! I didn't have a bowl I could use in the Instant Pot, so I divided it between two 2-cup mason jars and adjusted the time accordingly. It worked beautifully. If I'm not going to eat them right away, I set them in some cool water and then I can just put the cover on and pop them right in the fridge. I can't wait to experiment with different flavors.
I like this idea.
Hi, did you put the lid on the mason jars while cooking in the instant pot? thanks!
First time...subscribed!over it! I like all the details and options. You are so clear and simple to understand! Making it like ASAP!!!
[Cuts egg pudding into squares.]
Spoon: Put me in coach!
I saw Bella's original vid and have only made it in the pressure cooker. But that was a long time ago and I never wrote down the cook times I came up with. Great to have the times, esp for different amounts of eggs. I most often made the egg pudding with chicken broth. Yum.
I almost immediately started experimenting with custard and flan after trying this. So good.
I made the 4 eggs version this morning. The 10 minutes were not enough so I put it back in for 3 more minutes to be sure. It was really good. I think my eggs were slightly larger than large, so I got 3/4 cup of egg mixture. If you get that much when you mix up, you might need a couple of more minutes. I really liked it and see lots of possibilities for it.
I have gotten an Instant Pot, a 6 qt. duo, this will be my second recipe! My Hard Boiled Eggs came out great! Thank you, Nili!
🙌🏼❤️
That looks delicious, thank you.
I make this often, love it.
Adding butter after is very good too
This is amazing! Thank you so so much!!
I can't wait to try this!! I've been making custard with Ketochow, so I just might experiment a little. Thanks so much!!
Me too!!
I am HOOKED on this simple gem of a pudding. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I just made this using Bellas directions with a “steamer” and it was incredible!! Was delicious with only water😊
Amazing, huh?! ❤️
Looks delicious!! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow!!! 😊🥚🧈🍯

@@gwyndyr32Same here!! 😊
This really is easy! I’ve only used my IP a couple times before because it didn’t seem to make my pulled pork any better than my slow cooker and the pressure aspect kind of scared me. BUT I just made it, and it came out nearly perfect. I used half water and half HWC with the eggs which , I think, caused the bottom “corners” (I made it in a 2 quart souffle’ bowl) to overcook a bit, but still yummy. I also added a teaspoon Each of Stevia and vanilla to make it more like custard.
It was not a quick process, the IP takes more than the 12 minutes if you include the warming time, so I wouldn’t make this daily, but certainly a good twice a month treat!
I'm soooo excited to try this
Bella's recipe is great. I don't have an instapot. I've done it on the stove top many times. Oh you put hwc on top. That sounds great!
I've made a Flan "banana" cream pie using banana extract, it would work with this. I love sharing your videos in my Keto group, thanks.
Great🍲🍲🍲. This channel helpful especially when you don't know what to do for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack.🤤🤤🤤😊👍✨ Thanks!
I tried Bella's recipe using coffee for a savory flavor, and it was delish. added a few green onions and sprinkles of sesame oil. really good. thanks for the video
I need to try that! 🤤❤️
How interesting! I’ll have to try this
I'll be making this today for sure! Thanks!
Enjoy! ❤️🥚
This recipe has saved my life! It is my go to sweet thing without adding up in the scales. I am not a big fan of eating eggs, so this was the best way to add them to my diet. I just add erythritol and vanilla extract and butter to the water, I find it way more delicious than adding as a topping.
Thanks that's exactly what I was wondering about.
Soy sauce and some sesame oil
@@Mr.Helper. - with all due respect to your taste in food, but that is disgusting...
@@montycora lol …. It’s an asian thing
Looks so good! I can't wait to try it. I think I'll add a little cinnamon and vanilla, stevia, and use a mixture of half cream/half water in the mix. Then maybe some butter on top. Some keto syrup might be good on top, too. Lol.
I saw Bella’s recipe too, still haven’t tried it yet. I also would make it sweet. Maybe I’ll get brave to make it this weekend. 🍮🥚🍮
this is a great recipe thanks
Kinda reminds me of rice pudding with no rice! Yum I think I will try this I love that you at what you want at the end works great for my family, cuz everyone would want something different!😂
I like to do sweet omlettes for breakfast..2 eggs cream vanilla extract..sweetner berries, and Cinnamon. I put them all into the whisked egg mixture and cook as I would with a normal omlette...Then top with squirty cream
Same ingredients(eggs and water) for tradition Chinese steamed egg custard. Stove top works well but you have to cover with either foil or plastic film on the top.
Wow I just come across this channel now. The pudding looks great and thanks for sharing this recipe from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦
Oh wow thank you!
Looks great
Amazing!
I make this in my Ninja blender with scrambled eggs, butter, coconut cream and cocoa. It’s like chocolate mousse and it is super delicious! 😋❤️
YUM!
So do you just blend and not bake it? Thanks
How do you cook it?
I just made this egg pudding this morning, using my Instant Pot, instead of on the stove top , like I usually do. You were right. My brand is LUX, and it does not have a Pressure Level button. I went ahead and tried it anyway. It kinda, sorta came out, but I won't be using my Instant Pot again, unless I get a model that has the Pressure Level option. The bottom of the egg pudding had a layer of cooked egg white. The top of the pudding was okay, but that meant I had a lot less pudding to enjoy. So back to the stove top until I get a model that will work. I like the idea of having different variations. I made mine with coffee as my liquid of choice, for a change (I saw Bella make it with coffee).
I’m fixing to try this right now!
Nope 👎😭
Yummy that looks so good
Great. I need to use up some almond and coconut milk before they go bad
Thanks Indigo
Right now I am BBBE, but when I go off I will definitely try topped with Lakanto or Maple Grove Farms SF maple syrup!
It could be “sweet” or savory. Yum
I’m going to add cinnamon. Thanks Edit: I just made this with vanilla and cinnamon and it was fantastic! And so fast and easy.
Did you put the vanilla right in with the eggs?
@@lifewithpugwinkleYes, I cook this altogether. When it’s done and still warm, I add butter, stevia and heavy cream. Best breakfast!
This looks so delicious. I think I might have to use half water and half cream. I went and watched Steak and Butter Gal's version including the stove top. I just wanted to fully understand it. I have to say I like your video the best in its simplicity. Can't wait to make it. I loved custard in the instant pot but it was much more finicky.
Hmm, hope this recipe will finally make my toddler eat eggs. Will try
This reminds me of a french "cream" dessert that my grandma used to make in the oven in a water bath and it was so good! I got rid of my instant pot some time ago and wish I still had it to try this!
If you don't mind my asking, why did you let your instant pot go? I have a Cuisinart and am thinking of getting an IP with more features. Suggestions or thoughts appreciated.
@@nancyckp I you get an IP, I promise you won't regret it!
Interesting…..I may have to try😁
I wonder could this be added to the egg milkshakes for the egg diet instead of raw egg. Before i try all versions I like God willing, I been thinking about different ways to make it thick and cold with watering it down to much with ice. I'm falling in love with the idea that I can lose my 600 pound life and I'm so excited. Its like I have gotten answer I never felt o had before. And I thank you for your channel. 💗
Thank you for your video love simple recipes.....
Me too! ❤️🥚
Oh, to live in a time when eggs were “cheap” again. ☹️
love this recipe! I wonder if i can make a miniature version in my rice cooker?
or custard. Which I make ALL the time. ;) Looking for that rubber trivet...
In so glad I stumbled upon you.
Thank you! Lol I never noticed the clippy on my insert before
I use 3 eggs and 1 cup of heavy cream steam then serve with tsp of butter and salt and pepper… yummy
Do you cook it in an instant pot also?
@@Emivioricomex yes
Love your videos! You could probably add cream cheese and make it into a sort of cheesecake.
Trying this momentarily. I bought the same trivet, going to use a Pyrex bowl, and will experiment with either a sweetener or other flavouring, maybe coffee for liquid? But definitely first try will be vanilla extract and water.
Thank you
Hi, I just watched Bella's video and saw yours to the side. Trying the pudding today. Noticed you are in Oregon. Me too.
Welcome, neighbor! 😄❤️
Ok is it tomorrow morning yet? Can’t wait to try this Nili. another winner.
🤣👌🏼
My Chinese grandma was making this stream egg for the last fifty years. She had her own recipe. So so delicious!
It's like flan, or egg custard! I want to put cinnamon on it. It looks yummy!
Cinnamon is great on it! Honey too 🍯🤤
Ok I NEED a Instant Pot !!! Looks delicious 🥚 🥚
Yes you do! 😆
I put vanilla extract, monkfruit and cinnamon in it and cook in the microwave in a glass dish. Then add brown monk fruit and cinnamon on top and broil til little bubbly and brown. Lastly a little heavy cream and a few crushed pecan and toasted coconut flakes. Those are only on days I feel extra fancy and needing something more desserty😁
What a fantastic idea to use the broiler to create that cream brûlée top!! You should research about using a microwave……changes the molecular structure of your food!! 😘. We gave up microwaves in 2011 and use a toaster oven or stovetop to reheat food or quick jobs
This is going to be my breakfast tomorrow. I think I am going to add the sweetener and some vanilla extract in the raw egg and maybe a little cinnamon sprinkled in top
How did it come out?
@@TexasRoadrunners wonderful!
I made it successfully! Thank you so much! I love it!
woohoo! ❤️
Yummy
It is! 🤤
Nice looking 3D omelette!
I don’t have an instant pot. Could you do this in the oven? Looks great!
That looks so pretty and yummy 😋
Yummy 🎈
This is so delicious. I made your exact recipe but instead of cooking it on the stove or the instant pot I used the steam setting on the Ninja Foodi. For 4 eggs and water put 2 cups of water in the pot set the valve to Vent and cook for 10 minutes. Came out perfect and so easy and delicious love your recipes. Going to do your egg white bread next. Thank you for all your work perfecting these for us
YAY! I just bought a Foodi last night and was thinking of making this recipe with vanilla and Swerve! Thank you for sharing!
Exactly what I needed to know for my Ninja😊. The egg white bread recipe with the whole egg powder is awesome and tastes great grilled w butter
So, miss Nili…can we make this a chocolate pudding. It looks so creamy. Not like putting hard boiled eggs in a blinder and adding milk. I think this could be done !
Loaded with protein
Eggsxellent ! 😎
💯
I've seen the recipe posted on the net, but decided to take a shot after watching your demo. Easy, delicious, custard type pudding, love it ! Thank you for posting the various cook times, I tried it with 3 eggs. Used vanilla, cinnamon and some maple extract. HELLO. Curious if you've tried baking without all the yolks? Thank you for a winner!
Haven't tried it without yolks but I've tried it with extra yolks which turned out great! 👍🏼
@@IndigoNili I'll let you know how it goes !
My mum’s recipe. For one egg then add 3 half shells of water. Pinch of salt. Optional to add fish cake.Steam 6-8 mins in regular steamer. When cooked, olive oil, soya sauce, pepper and fried onions.
Amazing. Thank you.
I might add a little of the grass-fed beef gelatin in the water to make it more creamier. I like your approach to saving some calories omitting adding hc in the eggs. And to save the sweet part on top in the custard. I probably will take some of that sweetner plus vanilla extract into the eggs though. And the topping would be the whip cream frosting.
Great idea! 👌🏼
Custards like this turn out much better if you strain the egg mixture first, but of course, then it's a pain to wash the strainer.
Also, I have used high pressure with no problem. I used the recipe from Flo Lum here on youtube.
FYI, a great sweet dish is egg and banana "pancakes". You just combine eggs and bananas and fry them in a pan (2 eggs, 1 banana). They turn out differently depending on how long you mash the bananas and how long you beat the eggs and bananas together, but they are surprisingly good. I've been wanting to try egg and banana instant pot custard, but I just haven't been able to yet.
Egg custard by any other name. Add a keto friendly sweetener to the liquid eggs, vanilla if you like, then sprinkle grated nutmeg ontop before cooking.
I do this in the microwave!
I've been meaning to make this for over a year it's Bella first put it on her channel just never did it, you've given me the urge I will try it now thank you. I don't know if my off-brand instapot has low.
Joe, is yours a Power XL Cooker? That’s what I have. The normal settings on a Power XL is 7.2 lbs. of pressure which equates to the higher end of the low setting on Instant Pot. The high setting on the PowerXL is the canning button, which cooks at 12 lbs. of pressure. Indigo said that I should cut the cooking time down by 1 minute. I’m excited to try it, too!
@@denisec6577 Thank you for trying to help. I have the lowest of the low a Farberware/Walmart one. No power setting for low will have to do some research maybe someone has figured it out, your reply has given me some things to look at that I hadn't thought of. let us know how it turn out? I never get it to work right on the stove.
@@JoeHusosky , I did a little research on your brand and found out that it cooks at 10.1 lbs. psi. It’s a little higher than mine, but I see many people commented that this recipe works on high. I would try using a Pyrex or other heat safe glass bowl and lower the cooking time just a bit, maybe 1 or 2 minutes. I bet it will work. Give it a try! What’s to lose but a few eggs, right? I will report back when I try it. 👍🏼
@@denisec6577 thank you very much, I will and report
Have you ever tried freezing this? I was thinking of food prepping this for the week, but I would want to freeze so it would last longer. Any thoughts? Thank you☺
I use 4 large eggs, 200 g egg whites, 1 cup of water, salt for dun dan ( traditional steamed Chinese dish) steamed on stove 18 min. I use the egg whites to reduce fat and increase lean protein.
how do you steam on the stove...i've never tried that?
@@bitsyketo5726 I use a wok with a lid and a trivet. Put in water and steam.
Love your video- but Aluminum foil might not be the best. Any ideas on what else might work to cover
These might be good in the egg bite molds.
