I have beaten Steve in a one vs one tournament online with bowser jr and my final opponent was an incenoroar either he would get beaten by Steve or me. The tournament had only two stocks and my opponent got diamond picaxe on his last stock and I still beat him.
If they just made it so Steve could only place blocks on the ground he’d be so much less broken and more accurate to the game. If he’s in smash 6 whenever they comes out I hope that’s a change they’ll make along with some other stuff
Yeah like what if you could only place blocks offstage if you made some sort of bridge of blocks that start at the stage and go to the block limit, so you can’t just place a block anywhere and make it more canonically accurate
Steve is such an interesting character to me (not sarcasm). He’s got a lot of technical stuff that you need to know to be good, but the moment you know that technical stuff, his game plan becomes the most simple and glue-eating strategy in the game. I’ve been a Steve main since he came out and I’ve had so much fun playing him. He does have some bullshit but the more technical stuff like NIL’s and TBC is so cool to pull off. broken character tho.

@@hotdog3392 instant double jump with steve and theres a 2 frame window in the middle of the IDJ that you get the no impact land, its extremely hard to get consistently which is why yonni and all of the other steves rarely use nils to get 0 to deaths despite them (specifically yonni practicing nils for thousands of hours)
@@hotdog3392 You basically do a IDJ block, but you have to time the block correctly to where Steve's knees/feet (if you can call them that) are in the middle of the imaginary square you're at in the stage's block grid. It's very difficult to pull it off consisitently since every stage has a different grid, and the inputs themselves are difficult to time right.
