It makes spamming a viable strategy (and the most viable strategy for pyra/mythra) and that is not a good thing. Seriously, the fact that the side and up specials still work nearly just as well after 3-4 uses of the same move as they do when used for the first time is ridiculous and horribly unbalanced. I agree on the neutral specials being especially screwy though, they are the crap cherry ontop of a crap cake.

Hi! I’m sure I’m not the first to say it but the reason bowser jr takes double/more is because of the clown car mechanic. All damage is multiplied by 1.4 or something if a projectile/move is hit above the cart and it becomes multiplied by .8 if it’s on the cart
14:35 any character with a wall jump can do an instant wall jump off of ledge to avoid the key setup and keep your jump. Steve counterplay tech also exists, never forget that.

One of the advantages of playing Sora is that his counter is ESPECIALLY nasty against Steve. Landing it isn't the easiest thing in the world but it's way more consistent than even a lot of proper reflectors if you get it right since Sora just immediately swings with a massive hitbox.

I'd like to add some extra bits about anvil here too: I wouldn't say anvil is always a free card out of disadvantage from above, because people are finally learning to hit Steve from the sides when he uses down air. Requires good positioning ofc, but it's definitely a good counterplay; Something that's FD specific is how Steve mines the ground with a shovel, but he still uses the pickaxe to mine his own anvil. Since the mining cycle is the same in this stage, you can always get some quick mining from your own anvil in case your shovel breaks; When Steve is standing on his anvil, most ledge getup attacks will whiff on him (besides big ones like Bowser and DK), giving you another ledgetrap options with down smash; And lastly, on every stage but PS2, Steve can deny ANY tether recovery by putting a block right at the ledge, and his anvil at the very tip so the block doesn't break. You mentioned this in the video, but there is a very consistent setup to do this: with your back to the ledge (ledge roll is the quickest), short hop offstage while holding B, and a block will be placed right next to the stage. With your momentum from this short hop, just keep holding towards offstage and then place the anvil when you're almost going past the block. Most of the time, this will make the anvil fall on them. And combining this with the weird property that minecart has on the anvil (by using it while standing on the anvil, the anvil kepts its strong hit until it dispawns), you get yourself a very powerful checkmate on these characters (they can tether cancel but this comes with its own problems).
As someone who really doesn’t follow competitive smash and only occasionally plays casually. Minecraft Steve out of all characters being turbo broken and making everyone mad is kinda the funniest possible outcome
I use soras broken counter to deal with my friends steve antics, my favorite part about steves kit is that most of his attacks are "projectiles" so soras counter comes out instantly and quite powerfully, would reccomend lol
