The Inheritance Cycle has been my love and heart since I was 7 years old!!!! I'm 23 now and could NOT BE HAPPIER to finally be getting another novel, much less from my FAVORITE CHARACTER!!!!! Christopher you never cease to amaze!!!

I was in middle school when I first read Eragon and I'm in my early 30s now. I can't express with words how excited I am to be able to revisit a world that had such a formative impact on the adult I am today. I've honestly not read but a single book the same, save for the Introduction to The Witcher short stories.
Christopher Paolini, oh my god. You were the author who made my dreams of having a book about dragons a reality. You in my perspective are one of the greatest fantasy authors to have ever touched the book. Your series has influenced my life so much. from 2021 from April to October 6 months I was reading your series. I just love it so much. It helped me a lot during Covid . You are my favorite author. And probably the one who has defined dragon fantasy. Because of you, I have been inspired to write a book like yours with dragons, magic, and all sorts of things. I am glad I have touched and read your books. Thank you so much for such a great story. It will always be in my heart till the end. I was inspired to write a book like yours ever since reading eldest in June - August 2021. Thank you. I am also looking forward to your future books and your Disney Plus series in production. Thank you so much, You are my favorite.

Reading the Eragon series for the first time with my 12 year old. It's been on my shelf for years and she read the first book by herself and I followed! We are just starting the third book and are going to make sure we've read them all before Murtagh comes out!!
We have been through HP series several times and I know this is our new favorite that we will read several times!
Don't know why, but I have goose bumps! So excited for this, and the tour! Will there be an audiobook? I love Gerard Doyle's narration of the other books. And would be over the moon if he did it. My 3 year old sons name is Roran. Ever since I read the name when I was 11 years old I knew it was the one I'd use for my child :)

I found a hardcover copy of Eldest in a secondhand book store last year, and it prompted me to re-read the entire series and finally get around to The Fork, the Witch and the Worm. Wanting more, I gave To Sleep in a Sea of Stars a shot and loved it. Excited to see more from Alagaësia!
Also, this is how I learned I had been pronouncing Murtagh wrong. I've been saying it with a silent 'g', like "Murr-tah".

Also just want to mention how amazing it was to hear Xisumavoid talk about meeting you on his channel, apparently you guys had a discussion, and it was mentioned you are a big fan of the Hermitcraft series (and Minecraft). That is also so cool, it is like seeing two things you love interact in even just a small way.

HOLY FREAKING BARZUL!!! I can’t tell you how much these books have meant to me my whole life. I started reading them when I was in second grade and let’s just say… I was the kind of kid who spent recess in the library an was a fast runner out of necessity, not because I liked it. These books filled hours of my lonely childhood reading, waiting for the next book, and rereading. Arya ans Nasuada were my feminist role models. They helped me stand up for myself and feel confident. Particularly Arya as I was bullied for being an atheist in a conservative Mormon community. And I went vegan when I was 12 in no small part because of the elves ethical treatment of animals. I recently reread them (I’m 24 now) and they hold up. Reading them is pure comfort and joy and every time I return to Alagaësia, I notice little details and nuance that I hadn’t seen before. Murtagh was one of my favorite characters as I could identify with his journey surviving ab*se and as I’ve gotten older I love him more and more. I couldn’t be more excited to read more about his adventures. Thank you so much for writing and continuing this series. It’s done more for my life than I could possibly say and I will always treasure these books🙏🏻

I was just reading the cycle for my ten millionth time when I saw a post about the new book, the timing couldn't be better.
I hope we get a glimpse of Arya as queen rider and maybe what Eragon has started with the eggs but honestly if it's just Murtagh and Thorn going random places I'm good with that too.

I first read Eragon when I was in high school I was about 16 or 17 at the time. When I first read Eragon I was blown away by the story. It was so much better than the film and it went into more detail about Eragon and Saphira. Then I went on to read the other three and when I finish the fourth book Inheritance I was just so amazed at how well the story was written. It was a very fitting end and it was good to finally see that Eragon had finally defeated Galbatorix and his dragon Shruikan. I am so very excited to get back into the world of Alagaesia and read about Murtaugh and his dragon Thorn.

I'm absolutely stoked for both of these! I've loved reading from a young age, but The Inheritance Cycle was the series that really kickstarted my passion for fantasy, which was a short jump away from diving into sci-fi. It opened a whole new world of books for me to explore. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear you were venturing into space with To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, and it exceeded my (ridiculously high) expectations by a wide margin. Keep 'em coming!

I'll look into the illustrated edition too but the only Saphira design I LOVED is actually the one from the movie. I just LOVED!! seeing a dragon with feathers, but still not bird-like (it made her so elegant, and she's described as elegant in the books if I'm not mistaken(been a hot minute since I read the books)
