I am so incredibly excited to hear that they're planning on making the Disney+ show NOT for children, I was really worried about them numbing it down, but I'm also super happy to hear it won't be as gruesome as GoT. So excited for the things to come!
If they are going to make a disney+ series for Eragon. i really would prefer animation. We saw how they bungled up a live action version and frankly live action would rob alot of the majesty that can come from the story.
Just re-read the inheritance cycle for the first time in about 10 years, what a joy it was!! Thank you for writing my all time favourite book series :)
I met Paolini at a book signing at a Barnes and Noble a few years ago. I have never physically met someone with so much passionate energy. I later learned he's that way all the time, throwing himself 100% at everything that piques his interest. Anyone who has seen his Minecraft gameplay know exactly what I'm talking about. He's an incredible man.
I remember my childhood friend one day coming up to me and handing me Eragon. He said it was amazing and up my ally. I never read it... however until way later I was in a dragon fantasy mood and looked back at my bookshelf and rediscovered the book. Once I started reading I could not put it down! I could not believe how rich, believable, and speaks somehow to my childhood. The lore with magic and dragons was especially done well. Anyway I ended up reading all 4 books within a month. I cannot wait for this new series!! When I watched the movie I was so sad. Though the only thing I loved about the movie was Saphira's voice. That I felt was done well, but that's about it concerning the movie. Thank you for bringing us this wonderful world and characters! I cannot wait for the new series!!
I can already envision how some Urgals being less aggressive and possibly having horn problems could be an issue for them/possibly becoming an outcast. Interesting idea though, Urgals being less aggressive, and Dwarves getting pointed ears too. Can't wait for the show and the new books!
I have read the Inheritance Cycle many times over the past decade. I recently decided to give the audiobooks as try as something to listen to while doing chores or crocheting. (Gerrard Doyle's voice? Amazing.) I'm thrilled to have found your RUclips channel!!! 💙❤💛💚
I’m so so so happy about this. I feel I’ll cry when I see Eragon for the first time, then again when I see Horst, and then again when I see Jeod and Brom and it’s going to be such a blast. Thanks a million good sir. Edit to say thank you so much for being so close to us readers. The way you interact with us and the way you give us random news on the characters is so unique and genuine. I’m proud to be a fan 🫶
I wonder if the show will receive a more mature rating in possible future seasons. I can't imagine it maintaining a even a pg13 rating and doing the grotesque scenes involving the priests in Dras leona justice. I also think it would be amazing to do an anime styled story revolving around elva and Angela.
Yes yes yes yes teasing future storys about my all time favorite characters and a new TV SERIES and the map of the planet oooooooohhhhhhh my gooooood i so hope you do that and share it with us pls thank you so much Christopher Paolini you are so amazing and your books are truly magical
Wow, first of all. That is one BRICK of a "Notebook"". The japanese Book Versions look amazing. I'm a little triggered about this video being filmed vertically as a desktop user. But i get why... *triggered nerd noises*. If you ever run out of questions, answer this one: Will you ever make a Pen and Paper/Tabletop Adventure Version of the Eragon Series? And if no, what do i have to do, to make you do it anyway? Greetings from Germany =)
Aha! I knew that lady in TSIASOS was Angela! I really would love an entire story, or series based around her exploits. She's so mysterious! Also thrilled to hear about the Eragon series.
Thank you for doing these videos and being so involved with your fanbase. Seriously, it’s so unheard of nowadays and it’s just so endearing, it honestly makes me love you as an author even more.
Can’t wait for those new books next year! Gotta buy them both the second they come out! Mr Paolini never disappoints. Definitely my all-time favourite author.
I had to rewind and I am glad I did. I was doing something while listening and though you said you DIDN'T believe in the Oxford comma. Like what???? Ok. Good. Faith restored XD
Thank you so much for answering my question on Facebook. That made my whole month. I barely get questions answered I’m so excited and that means for like any person I ask when it comes to authors
Hey, I really liked it, but the vertical video was quite annoying to me. On a phone there‘s always the option of just turning it 90 Degrees, which isn‘t as easy with a computer-/notebook-monitor :)
For some odd reason, I can see Dwarfs getting taller but not much. The Urgals might get a bit slimmer. I would suspect both races to have better handle on magic\energy manipulation than they do now. The biggest thing is how would adding the Urgals and Dwarfs affect the dragons. We know, especially with the elves, when the races connected start to decline it effected the dragons.
Excited to hear that we finally get to revisit the world of Aragon through a television series! However, I've become exceedingly weary of Hollywood adaptations of novels. That's why it's comforting to know that you'll be writing and co-producing the series. Please do your best to prevent it from becoming another gut punch of an adaptation. Also, I'm thrilled to know that an illustrated Unity will be released!!
I got into listening to audiobooks this year and just last week I finally came back to Eragon to finish the series after not completing it when each of the books came out. It's crazy it's been 20 years since Eragon came out, and I remember it taking me two months to read Eldest, as well as being disappointed in the movie. It took me from the 22nd to the 30th to listen to the whole series and it is just *"chef kiss."* I'm not sure why it took me so long to get back to it. I also listened to "To Sleep in a Sea of Stars" this year as well, and I went on a trip with that one. I kinda feel bad wishing that it was a novel on its own because I like binging books series when all the books are out, but I'll be eager to see what's new in that universe. And I was totally imagining movie trailers for it using David Bowie's "Lazarus" in them.
i read a lot of book and there i found no other book as good as yours even eragon or fractalverse are my two favorits story ever i wish be in these worlds 😉
I could see the urgals becoming slightly smaller over time and less aggressive. And the dwarves growing slightly taller and less aggressive. The pointed ears over time is a given, but I think physical changes over time for the dragon riding urgals and dwarves could very easily be much more. Love the books!
I audibly cackled when he said that telling us who Angela actually was was a spoiler. We finally get to learn Angela's full story! 😁 I also screamed "YES!" when he brought out the Godzilla notebook. It's beautiful, Christopher! Also also it's totally cool to be amused by your Scottish Lordship. My parents got me an Irish Ladyship. Now whenever my mom tells me I need to be more lady-like I'm just like (pulls out Ladyship card) "You were saying?" EVERYTHING I DO IS TECHNICALLY LADY-LIKE NOW AND IT AMUSES ME TO NO END.
20:20 Now I MUST know how long it took for the discussions between you and Disney/FOX to get the Eragon show going! Was it 3 years? 5? Dang, I want to know!
Frankly, despite reading your inheritance series, I thought your passion for detailed, high fantasy world building was dweebish as a teen/young man. Being older, I realize how hard it is to come up with a story as detailed as that shown in the Inheritance series, which can actually withstand scrutiny from autistic obsessives on websites like reddit. Bravo.
I really want (can't be the only one) a full volume Inheritance Cycle book badly, with just a little bit smaller text than the hardcovers have and it would be perfect
If you're still taking questions for the later ones of these, I have one: I'm still blown away by the wisdom by some of the advice and philosophies that experienced characters like Brom, Oromis, Glaedr, etc have imparted upon Eragon. I think I'd be pretty impressed by these views, even if the actual source of these philosophies was a centuries-old sage. But I'm doubly amazed that the actual source of these characters' wisdom is from a 15-20 year old kid. So how did you know how to write for these characters who helped Eragon when you were in such an "Eragon-like" stage of your life? (Sorry, that was long.)
I’ve been rereading the series and my biggest question is are we ever gonna get to see another landmass in the world of Alagaësia, like the landmass where the humans came from and the Ra'zac were or is that gonna be left up to our imaginations? Also an amazing book idea would be the journey of Brom, about his saphira and his journey after her death especially about him falling in love.
I would like a little bit of a dark take on the Eragon series. But at the same time I would also like it to be more like a fairy tale. Maybe the first episode can start with a very innocent Eragon who would see the hard parts of the world. Another idea, how about you expand the story you’re telling in the show by showing more of the backstory of some main characters like Eragon and Murtagh?
Hi! I'm a big fan and wanted to ask, if there is a possibility to meet you in europe in the upcoming time, like a signature session or public reading? Would love to get a signature or a photo :)
Wish I would have known about the Q&A 😢. But ill still throw my question out there. For the upcoming show are you gonna try and pull a Stan Lee and try to make subtle cameos in the show?
Ok so i am very very late to this sadly. But my opinion on the ending of inheritance has always been it was sad that eragon had to leave arya i cried at the last scene but the saddest most heart wrenching part especially as I’ve gotten older is Eragon leaving Rotan and Katrina and their daughter. With Arya there is plenty of time for her and Eragon to see each other again for they could both live thousands of years. Roran could be dead in 30, at most something like 50-60 the average life expectancy of a man todays is in the low 70’s. Eragon could return 200 years from now to find rorans great great great grandkids. His last family left in this world.
For the love of god I HOPE Paolini has FULL CONTROL over the CASTING CHOICESSSSSSS-A So the entire cast looks JUST LIKE THEY DO IN THE BOOKS. I dont want another trash Percy Jackson fiasco so for the love of god, please please PLEASE let this damn series be FAITHFUL TO THE BOOKS PHYSICALLY
Any idea where filming will take place? I managed to be a featured extra in Stranger Things and I'd love to be a blurry background character in a story I've been invested in since childhood
Mr. Paolini? Can I ask you a question ? Here, I have been wondering for a long time: in your opinion, what would happen if a human or an elf, through magic, implanted an Eldunarí in the chest?
I only read the books after watching the movie. I liked the movie. After I read the books and went back and watched the movie I saw just how off the plot it went. The movie wasn't all bad.
I always imagined Eragon and the world of Alagäesia in my head with Studio Ghibli style, the way they animate gold and precious things made me think of Farthen Dur and the forests like in Princess Mononoke would be amazing to see the elven treehouses in this style... And fireflies, the desert sunset, flying above the clouds
I am so incredibly excited to hear that they're planning on making the Disney+ show NOT for children, I was really worried about them numbing it down, but I'm also super happy to hear it won't be as gruesome as GoT. So excited for the things to come!

By now the people who grew up with eragon will be in their 20's anyways.
@@robosoldier11 Eragon the Anime😳

Do you have any idea (even an approximate one) how long it will take to write the script for the Eragon show and get casting underway?
Mr. Paolini? Can I ask you a question ?
Here, I have been wondering for a long time: in your opinion, what would happen if a human or an elf, through magic, implanted an Eldunarí in the chest?
What is your favourite Dragon and why?
Good for us Disney is lacking a fantasy show like this
Is that Angela holding Tinkledeath in the background?
"my dad made a lot a beer time ago.... boy it was good" 😂
Interesting
Will there be a 6th book & why didn’t eragon and Arya get together? Angela’s prophecy said an epic love story would evolve and would outlast empires
I kind of guessed that Murtagh would be more likely to choose wine (hope the spelling of his name is done right)
Wait wait wait, missed I a new book...
My Last book was Part 5...
I feel like the dwarves would gain height from the pact as well
It would be hilarious to see a dwarf with an ear like an elf.
Is that Kira or arya in the pic in the background
I only read the books after watching the movie. I liked the movie. After I read the books and went back and watched the movie I saw just how off the plot it went. The movie wasn't all bad.
❤❤❤❤❤
Holdaaa.. a dark rich lager?
I mean ik dark lagers exist but let's be real eragon likes a pale ale at least (or the alagasia equivalent)
Hopefully it’s a fifteen
Christopher probably wrote more words in this video than G.R.R. Martin has for Winds of Winter
Angela is most likely the soothsayer maybe
So is nobody going to ask: what the what did the menoa tree take from eragon?
I always imagined Eragon and the world of Alagäesia in my head with Studio Ghibli style, the way they animate gold and precious things made me think of Farthen Dur and the forests like in Princess Mononoke would be amazing to see the elven treehouses in this style... And fireflies, the desert sunset, flying above the clouds
What is taking so long to continue the eragon and sapphires story and life new rides and building the new riders up training please hurry up
will Eregon and Ayra get together
🥰
