Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first nighttime Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)

4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)

Speaking of Falkner, it also bothers me that Bugsy has no Johto Bug Pokemon like Yanma, Ariados, and Ledian, and Morty doesn't have the only new Ghost Johto Pokemon, Misdreavus. So many missed opportunities in Johto.
Chuck doesn't use Heracross or Hitmontop either and they're Johtonian Fighting Pokémon.

At least some of the Kantonian trainers use Johtonian Pokémon, well within the sequel games that is. Sabrina doesn't use Slowbro or Hypno despite being options as well as Alakazam and Mr. Mime within the Kantonian games. It still baffles me even to this day that up until Generation 3, not one member of the Elite Four (other than Will) actually specializes in a party of Pokémon that is specifically centered around his (or her) own specialty type. At least Agatha gets a pass provided the only Kantonian Ghost typed Pokémon until Generation 7 are the Gengar line and Lance, to an extent, gets a pass as well provided that the only Kantonian Dragon typed Pokémon until Generation 6 (if one doesn't technically count Alolan Exeggutor from Generation 7) are the Dragonite family. The rest of them are unexcusable to say at the least. Lorelei could've used a duplicate Pokémon in her team rather than Slowbro due to limited Ice typed Pokémon options until Generation 2, Bruno never uses Heracross in Johto or the only other Fighting typed Pokémon options of Kanto being Poliwrath and Primeape, Karen doesn't use Sneasel or even Tyranitar, Koga could've used a Qwilfish as well and even Aaron from Sinnoh uses a Drapion, a non-Bug typed Pokémon, as his Ace in literally ALL of the Sinnohan games. At least the other Sinnohan Elite Four members updated their teams in Platinum.

Seeing how hard these nuzlockes are, it amazes me how fast Flygon can get new ones out. I've tried a few (pretty casual ones) myself and they usually take a long time. Nothing but respect for this man.
Hacking in 100 rare candies helps big time tho, which these guys do

Damn, really? I guess it makes sense since Lancelot from the Matter of Britain might be more familiar with a English speakin audience, while Siegfried from the Niebelungenlied might be more familiar among the Germans. I wonder if he is named after other heroes in other languages, never even occurred to me that he might be named after Lancelot, which now seems likely.
Edit: I checked, doesnt seem he is named after heroes in any other language than German. The Lancelot thing is probably just a coincidence.

I watched a comparison of Coloseum to sword/shield and just wow, also replaying coloseum on my wii with "progressive display" mode on and a composite cable and it looks great. (I was expecting super obvious polygons)
@@jasonreed7522 Personally, I hardly consider graphics when playing games unless they severely impact gameplay. I enjoyed Sword and Shield, graphics aside (they were at least a small step up from the 3ds).

Addressing the bird in the tower, the idea of what if there is a really big bird in this random cave was really well used around the series, Kanto specially.
Instead of being forced to face some dinosaur to advance the plot, you just explore at your own leisure, and at the end, the giant elemental chicken is a reward for your troubles.

Ariados is a crazy good Pokemon
I honestly love how you went about getting the stones lol. I usually just use the Fisherman by Mahogany Town for a water stone and the Lass south of Golden Rod for a Leaf Stone :p the Psychic trainer by Sudowoodo for Fire Stone and the Ace trainer for Thunder Stone left of Ekruteak. I loved and dreaded those mini games
I have my problems with Gen 2, mainly the pacing and lack of use of actual gen 2 pokémon by important trainers, but the big additions to the series we got from them are fantastic. 2 new types, breeding, and the day night cycle.

@@GhostBrian In 2018 when pbb was still up on roblox, I used to do a nuzlocke. One of the heart breaking moments I had was when I lost 4 mates because of a magmar. I lost a pidgeotto, flaafy, a blitzle, and a beedrill, it felt like pain. This is why sebastian is the hardest for me

i love johto but even growing up with hg ss as my first games where i understood how pokemon worked i still acknowledge the many flaws the game has like the lack of gen 2 mons used as a leaders ace (or in gyms all together) and how the level scaling is beyond stupid with the 3rd and 7th gym only going up 11 or so levels. anyway really good video and challenge idea
Here's a weird idea for a nuzzlocke: Type Specialist Run. You can only use moves of the same type as your pokemon, AND you can't catch (Or evolve into) multiple Pokemon of the same type. So if you have or have had a Starmie; you can't catch any Water or Psychic Pokemon that come along.
The core idea is that losing any pokemon in the nuzzlocke will actually lock an entire type off from you. Both in terms of Pokemon AND moves!
I love how at the start of your Nuzlockes you often provide a bit of flavour background/info.

I'm with you on Johto. I love the new concepts they brought. I like the day/night cycle, the da and time/specific events, and the fact you can visit more than on region. Love it. you can only use Pokemon who are weak against the next gym Example: first gym is rock so you can use bug and fire adter the gymleader fight you can use only pokemon who are weak to the next gym.

@@Idonthavealias Ghost is in no way weak against Normal, though. If anything, if the next gym is Normal, you might as well use Pokemon that are weak to any of their coverage moves (for example, psychic if they have Dark). Alternatively, just even the field and use Normal types yourself.
