Usually this is facilitated by catching the right team mate at the right time too.
It's quite poetic and fittingly creepy that the only 6 deaths were the sinister 6 - as if those six pokémon came together with the aim to bring together a team of terrifying monsters to take over the elite four and the champion whilst dying off one by one and watching the destruction caused by their plans from the afterlife. Monophobia, named after the fear of being alone, was chosen to be the last one of them, to make sure the plans were carried out and the team entered the elite four before joining the rest of the plotters and whisping away into the afterlife.
Great idea. Johto could possibly be a good region for this because he could have tauros for bull, growlithe for dog, swinub for pig, raikou for tiger, dragonite for dragon, aipom for monkey, pidgey for rooster, raticate for rat, mareep for sheep, arbok for snake, Ponyta for horse, and one of the nidorans for rabbit.
I feel the pain on the first gym. with froakie as the only valid encounter for my dark 'locke, it was equally impossible. I just ended up cheating the level cap for that one fight so I could still actually do the rest of the run, cus it's a fun one!
"I also trade phasmophobia to evolve it into Gengar, but for now he's staying in the box, at least until sabrina murders another one of my friends" Well, it was close enough.
I’d like to suggest a new rule: when challenging gym leaders, the amount of pokemon you can have in your party must not exceed the amount of pokemon that they have. I feel like a 2 v 6 will never be a challenge no matter the type disadvantage. I think this is a good way to really add some difficulty during the “middle” portion of runs where you always have more pokemon than your average opponent. Plus, it makes you feel like a proper pokemon trainer from the anime. Great stuff by the way, your humour is subtle but impeccable 👌
I agree with that, accept for the fact that for certain gyms, it will be a challenge even with 6 members. Think about early game gym leaders that have a type advantage. I actually do use this rule in my normal playthroughs because I think it’s fun, but with hc nuzlockes, I think it would be way too difficult for some games.
Your nuzlockes have become my go-to comfort watch while working at home. I haven’t watched this one yet, and today is the first time it’s really started to feel like the seasons are changing. Awesome video. I'm doing Y myself, and hopefully this motivates me to keep going lol. Love the naming theme, and those jokes are just 11/10. No notes, perfect delivery.
On the one hand, I feel that if Croagunk was allowed then so should Froakie, since it’s also a frog/toad and a ninja. On the other hand, Fennekin was a better option for team balance and especially the first gym, so eh
I'm glad you got to use Gengar. My all time favorite pokemon. (i know he's a little overrated but can't hate him. lookit that smile) Also the Spooky theme was real interesting. It took me awhile to see what you were going for but once I got it it was super fun!
Don't know if someone already mentioned it but you can actually always run away from wild with using a ghost type. No need for speedy mons. Think it is from gen 6 onwards but still a neat shiny hunting and nuzlocke trick! :3
They did increase in this game, starting in gen 4 actually, it just wasn’t added to the description screen until gen 7. But it is never SE, just 25% more. Which makes STAB always better than nonstab fire move, and heliolisk has way better sp def anyway
Golett/Golurk are my favorite Pokemon, so I was excited when I saw they counted! But sad when they didn't make a considerable contribution, lol 😅 I'm binging the nuzlockes and I'm loving them so far!! Awesome content, glad to have found it!!!
I've always really liked X and Y, the starters are pretty good, the gym leaders are a bit forgettable but also challenging, and the design of the region is so charming. The only thing I don't really like about the game is that it's a bit easy
You should try a nuzlocke of any game, where you cn only use level up learnsets! That means that you must forget the "oldest" move you know, teaching the new move. Good video btw
The Trapinch death is why I ALWAYS have Poké dolls on me as I play with items and haven't done a Nuzlocke yet. it's just annoying to not being able to run away
the true kalos experience is having your starter at the first gym, and then an entire team at the second.
I wish more games did that
Seriously 🤣🤣
I really liked X and Y I think they were my faves.
The iconic thing about kalos is an overrated water starter a furry fire starter and a forgettable grass starter beside chespin exclusively

Croagunk/Toxicroak looks much more sinister than Froakie/Greninja. Probably what he was going for
Spooky season themed video! The naming theme was on point. Really loved this one, Flygon! Thanks for another great video! (:
i find it weird how the game heals you for your battle with trevor but not the previous one with tierno right after shauna
Marla has not been CRIT like that since grade school omg the OG line is the most gut wrenching thing in cinematic history
You seem to be doing themed nuzlockes, which are a lot of fun. But if you are looking for a hard and story driven locke, I'd recommend the wedlocke
This was an awesome Halloween special! Another great video, I really enjoyed it!
I love how during the sequence mourning for Apiphobia, Flygon calls him Aichmophobia the entire time 🤣
This guy is the best pokemon youtuber and nuzlocker. The writing, the editing, the gameplay. ITS ALL SO AMAZING!!!!
I'm glad you got to use Gengar. My all time favorite pokemon. (i know he's a little overrated but can't hate him. lookit that smile) Also the Spooky theme was real interesting. It took me awhile to see what you were going for but once I got it it was super fun!
"Having its gleam dazzled real good" is probably my favorite quote ever from ur videos😂
Question: Could you have gone for a 3rd Swords Dance and survived a non-crit Night Slash in Shield Form to 1shot the Crawdaunt?
Yes but sadly he didnt

Fs for Aichmophobia
Liked this run alot HG was a nice video to see on halloween. Really nice of that stranger to follow through and help out with the trades.
Don't know if someone already mentioned it but you can actually always run away from wild with using a ghost type. No need for speedy mons. Think it is from gen 6 onwards but still a neat shiny hunting and nuzlocke trick! :3
Although that does mean Drifblim is the perfect, redundant Pokémon for that route. It can run away for two reasons.
Not the Misery/Kathy Bates reference in the beginning, dude you are just hilarious
I’m a simple child. I see flygon hg, I click.
Also I know this commenting style is very original
You asked why I watch your channel is because you pronounce things clearly, have a nice voice and explain things very well.
Fun fact: in sun and moon fire moves increase dmg when a pokemon has dry skin so in this game the fire move didn't increase
But sad when they didn't make a considerable contribution, lol 😅
I'm binging the nuzlockes and I'm loving them so far!! Awesome content, glad to have found it!!!
I've always really liked X and Y, the starters are pretty good, the gym leaders are a bit forgettable but also challenging, and the design of the region is so charming. The only thing I don't really like about the game is that it's a bit easy
Never watched a video that made me want to play pokémon again more than this one
If Heliolisk had Dry Skin, it should've been weak to Fire. You weren't crazy.
Holy crap, the narrative gets better with every video, thank you for such a great content!
You should try a nuzlocke of any game, where you cn only use level up learnsets! That means that you must forget the "oldest" move you know, teaching the new move. Good video btw
Really enjoy your content and i loved this themed run through. keep it up please!
Hilarious vid!!! Definitely one of your best and my personal favorite you’ve ever made!
Best narrative, best editing, best idea, best poketuber.
I dont even play pokemon games that much anymore, but i love watching these videos
this is my favorite video of yours. i laughed through a good part of it and i love the idea
The Trapinch death is why I ALWAYS have Poké dolls on me as I play with items and haven't done a Nuzlocke yet. it's just annoying to not being able to run away
"Life is just a high stakes nuzlocke." Truer words were never spoken.
