NOTE: Hibiclens is a cleanser intended for use on the surface of the skin only. It should NOT be used internally, on the face, private areas or on open wounds deeper than the first layer of skin.
Used for over four decades, Hibiclens® is an antiseptic cleanser and soap designed to aid this process:
• CHG kills germs and other microorganisms immediately upon contact, allowing for more reliable infection control.
• CHG guards against several types of bacteria, including salmonella, E. coli, staph, strep, C. difficile and MRSA.
• Hibiclens® doesn’t wash off during bathing. Instead, CHG attaches to the skin to continue providing antiseptic action for the next 24 hours.
• Regular usage of Hibiclens® has been shown to reduce a hospital’s infection rates when patients are bathed daily with the solution.
• Although the cleanser provides prolonged action, Hibiclens® doesn’t leave a sticky or tacky residue and can be incorporated into the patient’s skincare routine.
As a result, Hibiclens® remains the #1 Pharmacist-Recommended Antibacterial Soap.
Uses for Hibiclens® Cleanser and Soap
While Hibiclens® applies to a wide range of situations, it’s especially helpful for:
• Cleaning the skin before surgery to reduce infection at the surgical incision site.
• Post-operative usage further helps prevent surgical site infection.
• Caregivers looking to protect themselves and their patients against exposure to germs.
• Families looking to lessen exposure to common germs.
• Athletes wanting a solution to guard against staph infection.
• Hand washing procedures for medical facility personnel
• Surgical hand scrubbing to reduce spreading bacteria and infection.
would long term use of hibiclens produce bacteria resistance?
Can this be used as an everyday wash ? Currently I’m diagnosed with Furuncles and they are recurrent. Will this help in preventing if I use it daily ? And will it cause any issues if used long term ?
I *believe* that it can be used that way without major side effects. You may want to be sure to keep your skin moisturized because it can cause dryness. As far as its effectiveness in treating your particular condition, I can't say for sure. I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer at this link: www.molnlycke.us/contact-us/
I think it will help! Also try doing bleach baths but you have to space them apart. For me it’s helping a lot so far, I can tell that Staphylococcus does not like Bleach and it does not like antibacterial products. So use them, and continue using them for weeeeeks after it’s gone, don’t stop using your antibacterial soap or creams for minimum 60 days after the last one surfaced. Also avoid shaving in the areas that this horrible thing likes to occur.
You’re not alone ❤
My daughter is getting ready to have a baby and she has GBS and they are recommending a hiben cleanse rinse. If GBs lives in the vagina and this can’t be put down in those areas then how do you use it?
Hello! Just an FYI, we are not medical professionals. The materials available to us say that this product should not be used in those areas. However, if a doctor or nurse is recommending doing that, I would certainly trust their expertise over ours. It might be a situation where it can be done occasionally, but not regularly (that's purely speculation). Thanks for watching!
