It's the Karaya PASTE that I liked! 5 years with any ostomy and Karaya was the best paste I ever used, & I have had them all from Coloplast to Convatec.

Is it necessary to use both a convex flange and barrier ring or do you use one or the other.

Thank you for your video. its very helpful. I am a young 73 old male, for the last 6 years, my skin on my lower leg will come away very easily . so I have open wounds.. I was shown at first by one nurse and then just over a year ago at A&E how to look after the wounds, that using silicon dressings on first after you clean then non woven swabs on top. then a upper dressing to keep things in place.and they work alot better for me.. sometimes the wounds will take longer up 3 weeks now heal as I got older, what surprises me some nurses use wet dressing first, like honey , the wound will not heal because they are kept wet. but thank you so much for your video .. and have a Happy New Year

Not meant to be applied directly onto skin. It is to be applied to barrier & allowed to dry & then apply.

Liquacel, while SAFE to use undiluted IS VILE tasting. A little water goes a long way

I use it regularly for the part of the flange that dips under the adult brief. I have been managing my disabled son's ostomy for 20 years but his ostomy is mostly stable so I really don't have a lot of experience with problematic ostomies. Found your video because he is ill and has severe diarrhea and the frequent changes are starting to tear his skin up. Wound up putting a 4x4 hydrocolloid dressing on the peristomal skin sitting the bag on top of the dressing and then using the extenders all the way around the bag. Fingers crossed I get at least 24 hours out of this bag change because I'm out of ideas short of calling GI and requesting a C-diff test. Thankfully, I keep these supplies on hand due to my son's medical complexity.

As for me, I use a foley catheter in my bladder. Large ( CH30) to avoid leakage, we never know. So I try to delay a surgery with possible consequences ( incontinence, sexual problem...) I'm 68 y.o.

I understand it being something these stars didn't divulge to the public. Times have changed so much, but there's still such stigma surrounding having an Ostomy. I have an ileostomy, a Stoma for just over a year. I didn't have any bowel issues. I had Sepsis and a flesh eating bug, Necrotising Fascitis. I have extensive wounds and the Stoma was fitted to allow my wounds to heal bacteria free. I collapsed at home and woke up in intensive care with a stoma. Big shock

Why was my order shipped as undeclared dangerous goods? As a highly flammable aerosol, this product is required to be shipped in a sturdy outer packaging with orientation arrows and Limited Quantity marking.

The company states adhesive should be sprayed on the item needed to stick, not directly to skin. I can think of several ways to show effectiveness that would take slightly more time, but would be more valuable to the consumer. I'm very disappointed in this video.

These are concave not convex!

I think the convex ring was demonstrated wrong - the convex side goes against the skin

I have a very bad rash on three sides of my stoma it is slimy wet but if I cut parts of the barrier off that won't stick and let air get to the rash it dries out. Thing is, it is now a flaky dead skin wound. Been waiting for 5 months to see a specialist with another month to go. Would this CeraPlus still work for me ? I am using Hollister products, but it seems I have an allergy to the adhesive now.

The cheapest and most easiest way is use a bar of soap and some water and a cloth. Why waste your money on this overpriced soap? Another joke on how to get your money out your pocket

Could this part number also be used on the more extreme inward retracted stoma as well? Surely looks like the answer to my dreams for my wife. Going to try the CONVEX Flx and then the CONVEX DEEP click if I have to first, but I think this thing applied "off label" will hold the center down IN the "well" enough to keep the tissue junctions much cleaner and output free. The EARS with the scallops will lay down and conform to the adipose tissue well and Yeah.... I need these today. Can't get more than 22 hours or so since I am ALSO battling inflammation and erosion, etc at the stitch sites because unless I put antibiotic as a barrier to output, the output IS going under the barrier and getting on the junction circle and stitch "wells" and wrinkles.... Can't use paste, at least the Convatex stuff near the stoma because it WILL stick to and denude the colonic lining. I need a box of these to try.... 2-piece...
