I will give my 100% approval on all these products.. I have had a stoma for a little over 2 years now and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the cera plus line.. I use all three of the products she mentioned and I can tell you in the last 2 years I have not even had a total of 10 leaks. Even when my skin has had a few issues it seems to go away by the next bag change in 4 days. The extra barrier moon shaped has really allowed me to feel confident that my barrier ring stays in tact and if I do have a leak it gives me that bit more protection to be able to get to be able to change my bags without a major problem for myself.. I have tried other brands just so I know how they are, and I have come back to Hollister and wont be ever changing again.

I have a very bad rash on three sides of my stoma it is slimy wet but if I cut parts of the barrier off that won't stick and let air get to the rash it dries out. Thing is, it is now a flaky dead skin wound. Been waiting for 5 months to see a specialist with another month to go. Would this CeraPlus still work for me ? I am using Hollister products, but it seems I have an allergy to the adhesive now.

In another video on your channel, they said that the extenders can go right around the stoma (like a cera ring) and then the wafer on top? I don't feel as safe as with the ring, but Rosie seemed irritated today and wanted a break from the pressure. The extenders are only sticky on one side. Am I asking for a blowout? Some say you don't need a ring, but isn't that what's protecting the skin around her?😅

Hello! So yes - you can use the extenders beneath the wafer, but not for the reason you're thinking. They would not do the job of the rings, which fill in the gaps around the stoma and prevent leakage. The extenders - because they're partially made from hydrocolloid - can help already irritated skin heal. So if you've already been having leaks, and it has caused problems with the skin around your stoma, the extenders can help heal that irritation when placed beneath the barriers. But, you're right, they're not going to do much to prevent leaks in and of themselves.

i am convex and one year out and have tried everything out there including no paste or ring.. if you get the wafer on good on all sides just attach a belt and adjust to the slightest pressure and it worked for me.. no paste no ring ..no leak. the key for all ostomates is skin prep... dont rush clean the skin of old adhesive , take a show with nothing on.. get good a dry, spray some 3m barrier film and try no paste no ring.. put on a belt attached to the plastic clips on the wafer.. convatec bags will accommodate a hollister belt with a easy twist.
