Yamaha R6 - Oil Change How-To (2022)

- In today's video I get my "off season" oil change completed! I go through each step one by one on how I get this done for my R6. This is basically what dealers do in about 20-30 minutes and charge you one hour.
Look below for time stamps throughout the video if you want to skip ahead to something specific.
Step 1: Remove Left Side Fairing - 1:00
Step 2: Warm Up The Bike - 1:26
Step 3: Walk Around Checks - 1:38
Step 4: Check Bike Systems and Lights - 2:10
Step 5: Remove Shift Arm/Shaft - 2:19
Step 6: Remove Oil Drain Bolt - 3:07
Step 7: Remove Oil Filter - 3:27
Step 8: Clean & Lube The Chain - 4:04
Step 9: Install New Oil Filter - 6:33
Step 10: Install Shift Arm/Shaft - 7:26
Step 11: Install Oil Drain Bolt - 8:09
Step 12: Add New Oil - 8:39
Step 13: Warm Up The Bike Again - 9:18
Step 14: Let The Bike Sit - 9:27
Step 15: Check Oil Level - 9:36
Step 16: Clean Up Any Oil - 10:12
Step 17: Install Left Side Fairing - 10:20
Make sure the R6 is on a level surface before checking oil level (I removed my rear stand).
Oil Used - 10W40 4T Full Synthetic Blend from Yamalube (2.6L)
Oil Filter Used - OEM Oil Filter - Part # 5GH-13440-61-00
Torque Drain Bolt to 32ft/lbs.
Torque Shift Arm Bolt to 7ft/lbs.
Checks Done During Walk Around (STEP 3/4: While Warming Up The Bike)
Headlight Check
High beam check
Turn Signal Checks (Front/Rear)
Turn key system check
Coolant reservoir level check
Check all the hardware
Make sure all hardware are tight and not loose (don't over torque)
Clutch lever check
Brake checks
Brake light checks
Lube pivot points
Horn Check
Tire Pressures
Clean the bike if needed!

If I had an r6 I would change my oil every 1,000 miles or after every hot day abusive ride.😮
I mean to each it's own and you do you, but that's just being excessive imo... there is no need to do it that frequently.
