      Full synthetic Motul. Every 1700 miles on my R6. Not required that often, I just like it clean💯🧼 🦾🏍

    ok, this was the BEST R6 oil change demo I've seen yet (prob my 5th or 6th vid). very informative and finally a video that shows you don't have to strip off all of the left fairings lol

    Like most of the comments I've read, this is by far the best video tutorial how to change oil on 2017+ Yamaha R6. If only the shop were close to where I live, I would definitely bring my bike to this guy.

    This video is impeccable. one of the best oil change videos out for 2020 r6 hands down. Very concise and easy to follow. I was able to do my first oil change on my brand new r6 in under 30 min.

    Not supposed to screw in the dip stick when checking the oil but great video

    Very helpful and he explains well. I'm so afraid to use the impact, it's better to use my hands ..

    • @brucewayne2397
      @brucewayne2397 3 года назад +1

      Impact has nothing to be afraid off its the same as your hand just quicker.. impact only is an issue on tightening where you should only use your hand or if you know what your doing use the impact to tighten 3/4 then torque the rest by hand. All pros an no cons is the impact.

    We both upload oil change videos within less than 24 hours of each other lmao. Funny thing is my Rebel 500 uses a 204 filter as well. Probably the most common Japanese bike filter.

    It says in the manual on my 08 R6 that you’re not supposed to screw dip stick all the way to check oil. Just put it in and just start it and pull it back out. Is this wrong?

    I have a 2019 R6. I just remove the left fairing, not just the bottom part and I never use power tools as there's too much of a chance to strip everything. Also the oil used in the video (20w-50) is only good in warmer climates like Florida or California, while the manual calls for 10w-40 in cooler weather. I'm sure these guys are reputable, just not how I change oil on motorcycles. Also it's way cheaper to change the oil yourself Petro!

      The only things I know how to do is ride and edit videos. Jack of one trade 👍

    • @brucewayne2397
      @brucewayne2397 3 года назад +1

      I use impacts fine, iv never stripped a bolt on removal and that includes having done a full underside restoration on a 20 year old impreza from rainy England uk so we are talking rusted 20 years untouched bolts, the action the impact uses in back an forth an the vibrations sent through loosen rust and get the bolt out safer imop then using a breaker bar by hand where a load of force one way is more likely to strip vs the zillion quick motion back an forth plus vibrations.. the torque required to loosen the allen bolts on the r6 is very minimal so a light press on a proper impact (dewalt Makita etc) and they come out easy with no drama, obviously when tightening dont use an impact or use 3/4 then rest by hand..over all its exactly the same job ul do il just end up doing it in half the time you would take with the same end result.

  • @troubledseed

    That is a different way of moving the shifter arm. I usually just remove the top bolt instead.

    • @PetroHead
      @PetroHead  3 года назад

      That’s why I go to the pros.. I’d have no bikes to ride again if I worked on them 😂😂

    Before the oil was drained, was the bike warmed or was it sitting cold ?

      Yes, I rode the bike to Brents shop.

    Do you recommend this oil over the synthetic from YAMALUBE?

    • @PetroHead
      @PetroHead  3 года назад

      Not sure I understand your question but yamalube is what Yamaha recommends.. the exact one in this video.

      @@PetroHead Sorry i should've explain my self. The one i used on my R6 is the gold package from yamalube, so i was asking is there any big difference between that Yamalube oil (synthetic) and this one All purpose Yamalube?
