    Why do you like VEGAS so much?
    It's the right price; it's really powerful; it's ahead of the game sometimes.
    How did you learn Vegas?
    I've been doing video production since middle school, and in Highschool I started using Movie Studios to edit with. I went to College for Video Production Tech and weren’t happy with the “industry standard” editors I used there. I’ve used VEGAS ever since.

    Hey, ive got 3 clips that are filmed upright and want to put them next to eachother, so they fill up the whole 16/9 screen. Is that possible and how?

      Same steps as this video but crop the sides in the event pan crop

    NOW I understand, why I am not able to something like that. Thanks a lot. Been watching a lot of your videos. So in the version 14 of the MS Platinum there is no p-i-p fx. Is there a way to work around it and get kind of the same result? Or can I import some of the newer fx masks to my version 14? Thanks!

    • @TechDiveAVCLUB
      @TechDiveAVCLUB  3 года назад +1

      You're best tools in 14 are key framing in the event pan crop and cookie cutter fx

    What really confuses me is how from 04:06 you have track 2 focused and showing in the preview window, go into the event pan crop of the track 2 and yet when you begin to move that around you get the clip from track 3 showing in the video event fx. That really messes with my head.

    Hey Adam, I'm new to Vegas and hence have a problem I cannot solve. Someone sent my wife a vertical split screen in thirds, with one musician on guitar on the left third, one playing a mandolin in the center third, and a narrow black bar on the right to overlay my wife's violin accompaniment. What's the best way to replace the black third on the right with my wife's violin performance. She recorded her violin with an iPhone, so her narrow video winds up right in the middle of the entire preview screen, with black on both sides, so can I crop out the black on both sides of her video so it will appear in the right third? I'm sure there's a way to do this, but I have only been using Vegas for a few weeks. You seem to be the resident master of Vegas, so please help me do this before I wind up in the dog house, or cat house:) Thanks!

      Thanks for the compliment! Haha If I'm understanding this right, you'll need you're wife's video on the top track and the other musicians below it and cut the black bars off with the event pan crop. Then you'll need to use the picture in picture effect to resize and slide her video over the black panel.

    • @stardude36

      @@TechDiveAVCLUB Sorry if I confused you, the three panels are next to each other (side by side) from left to right, not on top of each other. Should I mask the original video to remove the black panel spacer the other musicians left on the far right, before trying to position my wife's video on top of that panel?

    • @TechDiveAVCLUB

      When i say on top, i mean on the trak above. Don't worry about punching a whole through the black as long as covering it up works just as well

    Hi, I recently got Movie Studio 16 Platinum and Magix Video Pro X. I've watched a few of your videos to learn the ropes. There are some effects that I have been trying to replicate, but am not sure how to do it. For example, on this link (ruclips.net/video/Ttl_uPs024Y/видео.html) There is a really nice X like transition that takes place around the 6 second mark and a V one around 1:01 mark. Also on Movie studio 16, there is an example video which can be accessed from the welcome screen. At the beginning, there is a nice sliding intro screen that says "welcome to movie studio" that is blue and white and slides out of the way. This appears to be some sort of series of .png files. Do you know if there is any way to do something like this without going through the work of making all those png files? Anyways, thanks for putting out those tutorials. They have been helpful and I'm curious what all I can do with this. I'm interested in using masking and chroma keys to make some good looking effects.

    An excellent tutorial. Split screen seemed very complicated and scary, but you explained it clearly, and simple enough that even I can follow along. Thank you for taking the time to make and upload this.

    I have Movie Studio 16 and I'm new to all of this. I want to do a virtual choir (8-10 people) all recorded separately. Like the Brady Bunch show opener. How do I do it? There are some virtual choir vids on RUclips if you need an example of what I'm talking about. Thx in advance.

      You'll want to use the picture in picture fx on each clip, and put each person on their own track, and put each person's audio on their own track. The audio mixing could get a bit tricky, but the video should be easy

I followed your steps exactly as shown however for some reason when I use the picture in picture fx then move the clip it leaves a little bit of the vide in the center and I can not get rid of it. What am I missing? Thanks. I am a new subscriber to your channel.

      strange. You mean when you move it around it doesn't move the whole video only most of the video?

    • @dkheaton
      @dkheaton 4 года назад

      @@TechDiveAVCLUB no, the video that I have clicked on moves as it should but there is another little box that can be resized with the exact same video. It only happens with the picture in picture is used. It is like it is trying to put another video in.
