OMG!❤ This is a fantastic technique that has stopped me from doing the die cutting dies with foiling because I don't like the look of the thin lines (unless using as a design effect with thick and thin double foiling, etc). I'm going to pass this onto all of my friends. Can't wait to try it for myself. Thanks for your time and ingenuity.
Pia, Thank you so much for this tip on how to make your lines thicker using standard dies. I did not have Quick Release paper but I figure I also decided to try parchment paper which looks similar to the Quick Release paper. It’s a product I keep in my cabinet for baking cookies. It works great. Again thanks for the tip.
@Pia Krogh Larsen THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THIS TIP!!! I often wondered why the die lines were so thin & wished they could show thicker onto my cards! This is phenomenal & will save me quite a bit of money on foil plates! ❤
Oh my gosh...thank you so much. I tried parchment paper and it worked!! It’s sort of parchment cardstock that I had from a long time ago, quite lightweight but I haven’t gotten around to trying kitchen parchment paper yet.
WOW!!! Thanks sooooooooooooo much for sharing!!! I wished there was a way to get thicker lines and your video was awesome!!!! I already have some the quick release paper but had not used it but now I will!!!
Am I glad I found this video Pia! I was debating purchasing a certain hot foil plate today and removed it from my cart because it was just too pricey LOL! I have all these wonderful dies and was wondering how I could get the lines to be thicker on some of them, and I find your video without even searching for a solution. Thank you for sharing your discovery, it'll make a lot of difference to us hot foilers!
I just came across your video. I tried your method and it works well. If you then use the die to cut then the die cut will have beautiful foiled edges.
Really good idea!! I didn’t know about this and now I’m going to get some quick release die paper and try it out. Thanks so much for this - you have a new subscriber! ❤️

Thx SO much 4 this FABULOUS tip, last friday you were my final big push in buying the Foilpress, cause i did not want tobuy loads of extra foiling dies!! I am a member of an awsome FB foiling site, i'm so sure all those members (and i think that there are A LOT if members, btw it is definately not a commercial FB site!!) woyld LOVE to see your really amÁsing video, can i please share it there? 🤭And really think it would definately not harm your new members total (if you know what i mean 😉), waiting 4 your reply. Lots of greetings from Holland.. and again, thx so much!!! 👍
Hello Pebblesmas in Holland 😁 You really made my day so much better - It warmed my heart to read your comment 😘. Yes, feel free to share my video 😁 and out of curiosity - what is the name of the FB site? Take care, hugs Pia

I'm looking into that foiling machine...but wonder, how come the die doesn't cut into the paper, like it is supposed to? Is there a bigger gap in the sandwich?
very cool! i'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that you're using a cutting die but it's not cutting! and it looks like there's no damage to the Spellbinder shims? tia
Hi 😊 So sorry for my late response. Using wafer thin dies with the Glimmer Hot Foil System is no problem and there is no risc of damage to the shims. Reason is that the platform (the heated platform) which you run through your diecutting machine is not as thick as the standard diecutting platform. Therefore the preassure is not the same and so the cardstock does not get cut. I am linking to another of my videos which should explain this better 😄 ruclips.net/video/MJkJzRcGorM/видео.html
Hi Sandra, I am not certain if you can use grease proof paper. I suggest you test it out and see what result you get. You are most welcome to write a comment about your findings, so others can learn from it 😁
I have bought mine from a Danish papercrafting webshop. Perhaps you can try and google the Quick Release Paper and see if you can get it in your country. Best of luck, Pia
Great tip love the thicker lines. Where can you purchase the release paper? Have searched and searched and cannot find it. Is regular parchment paper the same and work the same???
I bought my release paper in a webshop in Denmark. I suggest you try an search for it again and it might pop up in a webshop in your country. Some of my viewers have had success with using parchment paper as an alternative. But I cannot say it it works precisely the same. Just give it a go and see if it works for you.
Or freezer paper (might be able to handle the heat better than wax paper) I’ve never heard of that quick release paper... I’ll have to see if it’s available in the USA
No it is not exactly the same. If you cannot find the Release Paper, then perhaps parchment paper might work. Some of my viewers have made it work for them as an alternative.
I've had no luck making the lines thicker. I used parchment paper and freezer paper. I use a Gemini Jr. And Gemini Hot Foil machine. Any help will be appreciated
I am afraidI haven't got any answers or tips for you here. I have not tried parchment paper myself and cannot give you any feedback on it. Perhaps other comments left here might help you.
OMG, girl, thanks for the quick release paper hack. However, have mercy on us and don't rattle that paper next to the microphone. You about blew my ears out. LOL

How about baking parchment paper?
Thank you for stating that parchment paper works because I do not have any quick release paper! ❤
I was thinking of trying it with baking paper, good to know it works. Thank You 🙂

Wow! Thank you for that awesome hack! I will use your method a LOT with my wafer think dies!
New to using the Glimmer and love getting this information. I tried once to use a r4egular die and it didn't work. But, now I know the secret.
Wow 😲 thanks for the tip!

Great video, Pia! I have always wondered how to do foiling with regular dies. Very informative! Thank you.
Did you try using parchment paper or would that burn up on the glimmer?
Could you use grease proof paper? I use this with intricate dies. X
Hi Sandra, I am not certain if you can use grease proof paper. I suggest you test it out and see what result you get. You are most welcome to write a comment about your findings, so others can learn from it 😁
Can you use these sheets over and over?
I would not recommend it as the sheets will get impression pattern so a second use might not give as good results 😊
Baking paper is quick release paper...but HEAPS cheaper 😊
It sure is, I've been using it over 10yrs now on my intricate dies for quick release.
Hello. Is baking paper the same as parchment paper (in the US)?
Would baking paper yield similar results? Thank you ever so much for sharing! 🌈
I do not know it it will work but you can give it a go and write here in a comment uf it worked or not.
