So, I've never had any issues unloading with this method, nor have some other people in the comments, BUT, some people have said doing this made their Reclaimer explode, so wanted to pin this here just to let everyone know. Personally, I'll keep using this method though, since I haven't had issues, and it's Star Citizen after all so looking at your ship wrong can make it explode too.
I went kablewy It looks like if they get stuck on the hatch they cause damage, you can have someone in the pilots chair repairing, but it gets expensive and eats into profits. I'm of the slow is smooth, and smooth is fast mindset as a result. Now this isn't a problem with smaller containers, but they get annoying to load in a hurry
I can confirm the risk. I recently destroyed a Starlancer by tossing a box onto the edge of the ramp. The box glitched through the edge of the ramp, damage accumulated and we had a boom baby boom moment. It happened around new year so a clipped a video silently counting down the boxes to the fireworks moment - just for fun.
It is definitely showing its age... and not just from all the dripping oil and dirt. I'm really hoping they get the Reclaimer drones working, that would be amazing
@@NORKIE The Reclaimer is actually among the oldest designs in the game. It was the first "capital" ship; and, was in the game for years before salvage mechanics were even added to the game. It's certain to eventually get a major rework at some point.

The reclaimer came out before they'd established standard box sizes. I also think they're trying to make it unloadable without making it easily loadable to keep it from being a better cargo ship than dedicated cargo ships and just haven't figured out how to do that yet.
For max efficiency - Step 1) get a friend. Step 2) Do this video exactly but with a twist Step 3) The Twist - Tilt the Reclaimer, while having it in the air, turn on VTOL, have it hover. Get out of pilot, do what step 2 wanted you to do to chuck all boxes in back hatch, they will slide straight to ground Step 4) friend grabs boxes as they fall and pushes them into bay. You can unload the entire cargo (time after setting up) in less than a couple minutes.
I have so much SC content in my YT feed that all new YT channels are "Do Not Recommend Channel" with a few exceptions. Yours is an exception. Interesting, helpful and funny in under 5 minutes. Nice! And thanks for the tip.
Really appreciate that, thank you! I know there are a lot of other guides, so I wanted to provide something a bit unique while still ensuring I always provide useful information
Careful doing this. Make sure the crates are properly aligned and the ship is landed firmly. I've had the reclaimer explode twice due to the boxes coliding with the ship exiting through the rear hatch.
Appreciate the warning! I have never had issues, but it is Star Citizen, so nothing is ever guaranteed. Hopefully they fix the ability to just store the ship and sell from it without moving the boxes, so we don't have to deal with all of this
Found that it's the perfect size for 4scu's to mailslot through there. It takes a little longer, but no more stuck crates and you can diversify one of the fabs to do 16's for the cargo elevator.
Certainly is an option too, though I've used the 16 scu crates a bunch of times now with that hatch and never had issues with it. Looks scary but they push themselves out pretty consistently, and those that get stuck, closing the door solves that. I've seen someone else who just opened and closed the door a bunch of times to spit out everything in there too.
I've done this dozens of times with 16 scu Crates and it's never caused any issue at all. Just drop them all in, and then go close the exterior doors. Everything will be outside waiting for you.
I've had really bad luck with that actually working. Would happily store the ship and pay the fee to have them unload it, but every time I store the ship with the cargo in it and run all the way to sell, it doesn't show up. Hopefully they fix that soon

This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen. They just need to start overhauling all of the legacy ships and make them make sense to the direction of the game now.
