- So I have de-restricted my Ribble e-bike using the speedfun ghost adapter , simply plug in and ride that simple.
This is just a quick video of the whole process , just don’t be expecting speeds in excess of 25mph it’s a 250 w motor remember, also this will bring down the range of your battery too.
Disclaimer - this was done on my bike without any issues but I’m not responsible if you try it and your bike stops working.

Does the speeding ghost work the same with battery extender? Some on line posts have said it interferes with MAHLE firmware here too.
Not sure about the extender as I don’t have one , my SG works as it should , I think lol
Thanks for video. Funny though Speedfun is still just another speed restrictor. It just increases your speed but still limits it. I use a Speedbox on a Bosch Performance Line Speed 28mph in the United States and it really is a speed de-restrictor as it totally removes the limit so you are no longer renting your bike from an ebike motor company. So funny government puts restrictors on bicycles but won't do the same thing that could easily be done to something that really does injure or kill pedestrians including cyclist every day, cars.....Btw, I normally can hit speeds in my sprints up to 40mph on my acoustic/mechanical race bikes. I am simply asking to be able to do that with my ebikes I have bought. (our group rides hit that regularly on our out of town training circuits.)

Exactly.
When installed the speed displayed on the app is half the real speed. This creates a problem when climbing hills. The bike thinks you are only doing 3-4mph and this causes the power to be dramatically reduced. Exactly what you don’t want.
I have a Speedfun adaptor and have noticed two things about it. First, the speed indicated on the app is about 50% of the real speed. Is this normal? Such a dramatic reduction in indicated speed seems to mess up the power curve characteristics a lot.
Second. I put the bike on a stand and fitted a speed sensor to the rear wheel. Without the Speedfun, the bike will spin the rear wheel at 15.7mph when slowly turning the crank. When I install the Speedfun the motor still only turns the rear wheel at 15.7mph. Is this correct or is my Speedfun faulty?
You mention the app , is this the e-bike app ? All I know is that I fitted it and it doesn’t cut out at just over 15mph but cuts out around the 19.5mph mark .
Sounds like there is something not right with yours tho ?
Hi Dave, thanks for posting this video, it's an interesting device. Their website states it will falsify information on any Mahle related app, like the speed info you pointed out, which is a pity for me as it's the only one I use.
Simply add a garmin 🤣
I also bought speddfun ghost for my merida esilex. Even the app shows less speed, the motor still cuts at factory level. No gain at all... :(
Yeah after using it a while now it’s not really much of an improvement 😂
Surely the Mahle is a view of what the mahle thinks it’s doing so it doesn’t cut out?

Hi Dave ,yes arrows was in line it worked for a few seconds. Then a warning come on mahle that something was wrong and it switched off . I’m mistified .any body out there got ideas .thanks Tony

An obvious one , is it plugged in with arrows lined up etc . If it’s not working I would return it for an exchange .

Bike is great but the pilot is bone lazy .that's a great bit of kit this 15mph cut off is crazy stuff no governor on new electric cars.
