@CheemsBased I won't lie, jumping from Z to ZZ is what got me like most people. It's why when I recommend a watch order I put a few OVAs between Z and ZZ as a palette cleaner. Plus, I saw the light hearted humor and comedy as a shift from Kamilles perspective to that of Juduas. An innocence yet to be ruined by war, and only shifts when he believes his sister was killed
ideon is straight up a Cosmic Horror story hidden in a Super Robot Anime. Because of the similarities, I always low key see Ideon as a prequel to Mobile Suit Gundam, and the events of UC are what happens in the new universe that is created at the end of Ideon. New type powers/abilities are the result of the Id that permeate the universe at the end of Ideon as many of the things the Id could do/did are also the stuff we see Newtypes doing.
This is also the only Gundam work that tries to explain Tomino's claim of the Correct Century funnily enough. As in the original draft of Turn A. Every mech series made by Tomino until then were going to cross over.
You may ask, "how could Cope Lord miss Cheems upload?". Unfortunately the back breaking labor I now endure has caused me immense sadness due to my lack of Cheems video consumption. Because of this, I will be quitting my job to become a full time Cheems video consumer. It's hard work, but someone has to do it.

It’s a huge tonal shift but after the ending from Zeta, I personally appreciate the more light hearted approach. Light hearted Tomino is best Tomino

@AJGundam I do feel like that was Tomino’s intentions, it’s a really good way in gradually showcasing one’s innocence fading.
Without counting 2 specific episodes, I also agree with that statement of people overreacting with the first half of the series. ZZ rules
