Interesting thing: Joseph's actor originally declined the role, but he took a look at the script and instantly fell in love. There was a seen where Joseph cried morning for his family and he improvised most of it.
i remember having seen that which is crazy... greg bryk is an amazing character and if they bring joseph back for something else it cant be anybody but greg bryk
Similar thing happened with Ned Luke, the voice actor for Michael De Santa. He turned it down because he didn't have interest in voicing a video game character. Until he read on his script. He initially turned down the role of such an iconic character.
If you read the new Far Cry comic series titled Rites Of Passage, where Anton is telling Diego the stories of the 3 villains featured in this season pass, in Joseph's story it actually shows the moment his wife gets in the car accident while he's at home building the crib, just like how the phone messages show and right after it shows him killing his daughter at the hospital too. Right after leaving the hospital is when he gets the instructions from the voice to find his family and prepare for the collapse. I only just discovered this comic like yesterday and I've only read Joseph's story so far (since he's my fave) but it's actually a really cool comic, I would recommend checking it out.
(Spoilers from the fc novel)Im kinda confused why everyone has a wife and a daughter and they always die in a car accident. In far cry Absolution there is a guy named Will and his daighter and wife died in a car accident too
It's kinda funny how aware Anton is about the Far cry universe that he has knowledge about a random Pirate in a island in the middle of nowhere and he cared enough about an American cultist
@@morningghost5940 Cause it’s a heart wrenching story set up. Loosing two loves of a husband’s life is devastating. It happens irl which makes it depressing to think about.
@@carsonchambers5617 yes I know but usually in games 1. They give everyome different names so there is no double 2. They give everyone an unique or basic story but its only for one character. My point is that its getting at one point confusing easily messed up but ofc I understand your point too
The way I see it, Joseph was severely damaged right from the get go. Absent or dead mother, abusive father, psychotic little brother, violent and bitter older brother. He subconsciously manifests this "voice" and for lack of a better explanation, Joseph attributes it to the voice of God. It seems to want to protect him, keep his family safe etc. Joseph's life was not very positive or hopeful. He watched John's lack of empathy, his sick twisted urges spewing forth, he saw Jacob's fear and anger that eventually led to the murder of their father [EDIT: Ok, I had someone say the Book of Joseph mentions that Jacob doesn't actually go through with it, instead, someone calls welfare and they are orphaned], and then later on in his life he witnessed John kill his own wife (maybe not in person), and Jacob's struggle with PTSD perhaps leading to drinking problems. My guess is that he somehow got away from this and managed to carve out a life for himself, regardless. With a wife named Faith. And then, as the one good thing in his life is taken from him, he remembers that part of his subconscious that helped him survive as a child. The voice reappears and he gives himself over to it for better or worse. Becoming The Father. The biggest tell that his "God" is actually just psychosis; The Voice speaks in Joseph's voice because it's his thoughts.
My theory is that the voice was an Isu, Ubisoft exists in this massive expansive universe and Far Cry is connected with the Assassin's Creed series. So it's possible that the voice or "God" was actually an Isu trying to manipulate him since many Isu in the series are malicious and hate humans.
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 not really, in Watch Dogs the main character goes after a villain from Assassin's Creed after being hired by the brotherhood. Unless that was an easter egg...
@@SirToaster9330 I'm very well abreast of these connections. There is another in New Dawn where you can find the Paladin, the 4th Echelon mobile command centre from Splinter Cell: Blacklist. And there's the Abstergo facility in Far Cry 3 DLC. The cameos of Sam Fisher in the last two Ghost Recon games. Or the many game cases of AC, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon in AC games etc. If I had to give it a blanket assessment, I'd say that it's a very consistent inconsistency of sharing a universe when it comes to Ubisoft. On one hand, you have Tom Clancy games with a clear link. On the other, Watch Dogs appears to have Abstergo, but they also have Ubisift HQ, so... Definitely a Case by Case basis for what is linked and what isn't.

Btw the Bible of Joseph mentions a lot about the back ground of the seeds. Specifically that Jacob never killed their father. Their dad would only hit Jacob and Joseph until one day the dad decided John was old enough to start being beat. John went to school after this abuse and the teachers saw bruises on him and they called in a wellness check to their household. Then the dad was sent to jail and he died by falling down the stairs during his sermons. The siblings were then sent to an orphanage. The book actually explains why Joseph is the way he is and why he thinks he’s right. I guess Ubisoft forgot about the book or just changed it last minute for the dlc. Great video nonetheless! 👍🏻 edit: Book of Joseph*
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 No, their father died in prison. He fell down a flight of stairs and Joseph isn’t sure if it was an accident or if someone killed him for being annoying with his loud sermons. Their mother went to a psychiatric hospital and most likely died there too.

Here's my take on everything with Far Cry so far. Ajay became king and drove out Pagan, but before Pagan left, he fired all the nukes he had at Montana. Joseph was actually right about the collapse because the radio news stations of Far Cry 4 said that there was political tension all across the globe, and somehow this news worked it's way into Joseph's delusions. Dani Rojas exists in a world *before* the nukes went off, hinted at by the fact that in the post credits Easter egg that Vaas was still alive at that time.
The secret ending of the Vaas DLC shows an older Vass who is very much alive, and Far Cry 6 takes place in 2021, whereas Far Cry 5 takes place in 2018, so my guess is that the resist ending of FC5 and New Dawn (and by extension the Collapse DLC) is all happening inside Joseph’s head and we’re just looking through the eyes of characters in his vision, maybe all of it is a dream while he’s on the brink of death. Or there’s the possibility that it really is just two different timelines and that the canon ending for the main timeline is either the secret ending at the start, the walk away ending, maybe they actually did kill Joseph in the resist ending or even just arrested him at the beginning without much of a problem, or maybe they never even went to arrest Joseph in the first place and he and his cult just fell apart on their own. Either way this isn’t the clearest timeline, and I think it’d be nice if they did some sort of FC5 remastered with a new canonical ending where the Deputy either kills or arrests Joseph for good. Or at least release a comic or something showing what actually happened.
FC5 had a mission of where a criminal hid amongst Peggies because he stole the President’s por no and then when you get it back and give it to the man who was supposed to help you get rid of the cult he doesn’t because he gets promoted in his job on the spot So the in game President was protecting himself because he thought the por no got leaked And hope county is in the middle of nowhere and Montana couldn’t piss anyone off enough to get nuked so that’s my probably true asf theory
All the numbered Far Cry titles take place in the year of their release. The "wait" ending was also confirmed as 4's canon ending, so either Ajay launched the nukes, or he was overthrown and Golden Path launched them. Far Cry 6 taking place after 5 (with the US being intact) confirms that only Hope County got hit.
@@sethmcavoy1800 How though? New Dawn takes place in 2035,as evident by what you say, the fact that Carmina is canonically 17, and the description of the 1911 in FC:ND is that it's been around for 124 years. Since the 1911 was made in 1911, that means that 1911+ 124 years = 2035. Plus the Highwaymen have set up outposts all over the country, and Thomas Rush was helping settlements build up before his death in FC:ND.
In my opinion “The Voice” represents the true bad person Joseph ACTUALLY is. Now Joseph on the other hand believed he was doing right, as seen numerous times throughout the DLC. Joseph’s perspective upon the right doing (his faith) simply lead to the reality of his wrong doing (“The Voice”), but he was unaware of that. To simplify it, in his mind he thinks he’s truly doing good, but in all reality he’s actually doing bad things. At the very end though when he walks through Eden’s Gate he finally then realizes and comes to peace with the person he truly is which is “The Voice.”
I definitely agree. I believe The Voice and his title as “The Father” is an allegory for his dark side. If you read the book of Joseph and read the comics about his backstory, it shows that he deeply was afraid to become a father because of how his own father abused him. He wanted to be nothing like him. He’d occasionally have nightmares about beating his own child and woke up in tears telling his wife how he’s going to be just like him. But she always reassured him that Joseph is nothing like Old Man Seed. It was not until that she died, where Joseph’s hopes and dreams of becoming a True beloved father were shattered, and he became The Father, aka, his father. He is schizophrenic, and The Voice is just the evil side of Joseph that represents his abusive father which he carried out to his followers
Joseph took the concept of faith and morality and used it as justification in enact ing the will of “The Voice”. His character is tortured by all his tragedy growing up which breaks his mind and makes him submissive to his inner demon so to speak. We see with Vaas and Pagan that their minds break as well and they give in to the insanity in their head manifesting itself in different forms. For Vaas it’s Citra, for Pagan it’s “The Tyrant” and for Jospeh it’s “The Voice” As the end fight ensues we hear The Voice say that it was never about Eden’s hate it was about power. This moment serves to prove that Joseph had the same villainous desires as Pagan and Vaas but it’s more cleverly disguised due to his outward expression and justification using religion and God as his scapegoat. When Pastor Jerome gives him the opportunity to speak in the church Joseph speaks of himself as “The Father”. Anyone who is familiar with Christianity knows that God is also spoken of as “The Father” or “Our Father” like the name of the well known prayer. Joseph’s inner demon: his inner voice of insanity was tormenting him so much that he began to see himself as God because he told himself the voice was God. In the DLC he wrestles with The Voice because it’s a persona he’s created in his head and the concept of God is just the face he’s putting onto his wicked inner voice. This is a true tragedy knowing that a man who only wanted what he thought was best for his family was consumed by his ideology of how to save them ending in their deaths. Joseph Seed is an incredibly well written villain, and this DLC made me cry for him over and over. Anyone who like me grew up in a heavily religious family will know just how much the lines between religion and reality can blur and have you questioning your own sanity constantly…
Maybe that voice wasn’t God. You know there is someone else who preys on the vulnerable, the ones who can be deceived. It’s maybe not his inner voice/demons, but Satan/Lucifer. Who uses him and deceived him. As a Christian, I can’t imagine God saying some of the stuff He allegedly did. say to Joseph or made him do and at the same time He is okay with it. Like „oh you killing my other children, that’s fine!“ „kill your daughter for me!“ (yeah he did that before but he stopped Abraham from actually killing Isaac. But he didn’t stop Joseph. I doubt that God would be okay with the things that Joseph and the others did in His name. They committed every possible sin. Like killing, lying, torture, cannibalism, kidnapping, locking ppl up, drugging ppl and so on… whom would be okay or even enjoying all of this? God or Satan?
@@Ateezwooyoung He practically already said that. "The Voice" is not God, clearly. It's an inner voice, likely psychosis from his traumatic upbringing and again from the loss of his wife.
@@Ateezwooyoung and also the fact that Joseph sees visions from the future (new Eden and Ethan, the bunker vision), which could only have been achieved through the supernatural, and most likely the devil or some evil entity.
For those wondering about the nukes mentioned in Control. Ajay works for the U.S. government. Since Joseph's cult got way out of control, no pun intended, the government wanted to get rid of it fast. Launching U.S. nukes into its own state would be a massive issue since the population could revolt. Conveniently, Ajay had some laying around in Kyrat. And since Kyrat is more of a rogue state than a country, the government could simply state that it was a terrorist attack and avoid any repercussions for the nuke launch, since even Pagan referred to Golden Path as terrorists.
That's largely speculation. In Far Cry 5 the radio broadcasts paint a far more dire state-of-the-world prior to the end of the game. It wasn't just Montana that was hit, the entire world ended at the end of 5
Seems pretty overkill and yea like someone else said. It seemed like the world was quickly collapsing at the time of the game. Maybe a war broke between the US and Kyrat and Ajay or someone in charge of the country set them off causing the a nuclear war across the globe
It's also possible that Joseph did it himself or could have been targeted because of Joseph's plans. In Ghost Recon Wildlands there's a mention of a potential empty quiver event (missing nuke) according to Intel given to Sam Fisher, and this same empty quiver is brought up in notes in Farcry New Dawn and the cult had a missile silo in the game and the CIA had a presence in Hope county with Willis showing up.
It's not that we should side with him or condemn his actions. Joseph is a person who has done horrible things, he's committed crimes, he's sinned and he's hurt those he loved. But he isn't beyond forgiveness. It's just that not everyone will be capable of offering that to him, given his choices. He is indeed, a very well written character and proves that for all Ubisoft's bullshit, their creative teams are still kicking ass nonetheless.
Joseph was a man who had lost everything, tried to make up that family and lost it again thanks to us. He tried to have a family for a third time with his son, but he couldn't control his son and ultimately lost him as well. No matter what Joseph tried, he still couldn't have a family, he was alone and whenever he tried to have people as a family, they perish. I feel so bad for him.
I like the narrative and seeing Joseph practically fall apart when all what went on with the Seed family is revealed but I really unsatisfied on the part of the nukes. The fact FC6 already happens in modern days and all is "fine and dandy" makes me doubt a lot on what's going on here. Until more confirmation, I'll just take this DLC as the man having a last delirium before death or capture or something like that. Hope we get a bit more of detail later on.
They already confirmed that far cry 6 takes place in another universe so the secret ending in far cry 5 is really the only one which can be "cannon" if you will...
Good video, I would have added the bit from statue too though. It's more on how twisted his relationship with the faith's was, having the lasts faith kill the previous one to prove herself. in fact, talking about fact that in two places at least it talks about how there were more than one faith (after his wife) says a lot.
PSA!!! Jacob didn’t kill their father. Their father was arrested for child abuse and put into prison. Their father died in prison and their mother died in a psych ward. Also, I wish people would really stop saying “The Voice” is Joseph’s psychosis. If it wasn’t apparent before, this DLC showed Joseph actually DID have visions of the future and hears the voice of a divine entity guiding him. People thinking it’s his psychosis gives me as much as a headache as it does when people say Joseph launched the nukes. Joseph WAS a prophet and hated it the more he realized what he was doing. On top of the visions of his future with New Eden, Ethan, etc… if you stand idle long enough, the voice even warns him about the Highwaymen who will come to take and destroy everything. It also tells him to give the Apple of Eden to the “Captain” who later is revealed to be the protagonist of New Dawn. Whether or not the “Voice” is malicious is really up for interpretation, if something as a divine entity is guiding your hand they’re probably above human emotion and sentiments. Life and Death is merely part of human existence, thus is why the Voice felt no sympathy for Joseph feeing guilty for being part of murder and brainwashing. In the voices eyes, Joseph was merely a pawn and played his part. Once his time was up, the voice directed Joseph to pass his guidance onto “The Captain,” which is what Joseph wanted. He wanted to join his family in Eden (as he says and attempts at the end of the Collapse DLC) but the voice had more plans for Joseph and would not let him die until it was his time. The writing around Joseph Seed and his family needs to be examined in a different way to fully comprehend, it needs to be looked at in a way of divine intervention and something on the lines of metaphysical.
But bro it is his psychosis, the voice kicked in right after his breakdown from loosing his wife. And plus if it were some divine hand guiding him, I highly doubt it would justify everything he has done. Especially to the faith's. I believe his so heavily ridden by guilt that he formed himself a persona that tries to rid his doubt and convince him his doing the right thing. He already has a mesiah complex so the psychosis part isn't far off.
And also so you realise how "God" sounds like him? Ye see of ot were God it would have an eerie divine tone or something, wouldn't sound like him. But it sounds like him because it is him, he just manifested this voice to get him through stressful situations. Just like during his childhood, and right after his wife died. And see how the voice constantly justifies what he does and always makes him look like his right? The voice is there to protect him. Reassure him that everything will be alright, that voice is himself trying to get rid of all the guilt and remorse he feels for his actions. Due to him being unaware of his condition, he regarded this voice to be God's voice and did whatever the voice told him to do. That voice was a bully in his head, HE was THE bully in his head. His a psychotic narcissist who truly believes he is a savior.
You don't mention Joseph's monologue, after he lost all members of the Seed family. He thought that God made him the shepherd or a prophet, but in New Dawn he realized that himself and the Seed Family were the apocalyptic riders. That the Captain from FCND is the shepherd and not himself. So apparently yes, if you are religious and stick to this narrative, Joseph was right all along, except of the fact, that he wasn't a prophet, but one of the apocalyptic riders in the biblical sense.
I have played through 3-6 plus dlcs. There is something about the story, setting and characters that just make me happy. Joseph and the seed family were really great characters. I enjoyed Farcry 3, 4 and 6. But 5 is still my favorite. Such a tragic tale.
Well I kinda wanted answers abt the bomb. Cause we got one side of the story from Pagan I wanted to know the other side like how Joseph know about the bomb and everything
Although I feel this theory is unlikely, as you know ajay came to kyrat from the United States and Ubisoft never told us what state he was from. I think he is from Montana and even knows Joseph Seed And after realizing what a destructive and apocalyptic thing was hidden under kyrat, he coordinated with Joseph. SPOIL! Pagan to ajay: Feel free to use them whenever and however you see fit ..... "whenever and however you see fit" What does it mean? Can it be related?
the idea is that Ajay never fired the nukes, he is a soldier who works for the US army. He wouldn't kill his employer and also, all his stuff is in there.
I have a theory since Far Cry 6 takes place in a nuke free world: Seed is going through a bliss hallucination and the light is the police catching him.
I think this aswell. I mean, only makes sense since FC6 makes no mention of the nuclear war. Also wouldn't make sense to be related to Paga Min since the radio in FC5 mentioned a worldwide conflict but alas. It's all so weird but wouldn't surpise me if at the end this turns out to be Joseph hallucination after being taken down in the final showdonw at the cult's compound.
My theory is that Ubisoft got extremely butthurt that their favorite presidential candidate didn't win, so they sent the Far Cry universe down a nuclear apocalyptic path, because they just couldn't imagine any other outcome of a Trump presidency than global nuclear war. Now, they're scrambling to figure out how to fix this insane mistake they made, thats why there was no mention of the nuclear war in FC6. FC3, FC4 and FC5 are all connected, with characters that show up in all of these games (Willis Huntley and Hurk Drubman) but FC6 is not connected to the previous games. This is due to Ubisoft's butthurt knee jerk reaction to the 2016 election. Edit - Boomer is in FC6 and was sent there by Hurk. So it seems that FC6 IS connected to the previous games, it just completely ignores the nuke ending of FC5. I really like the crater Ubisoft dug themselves into with this.
@@SirToaster9330 If you paid attention to FC5 you know very well this is highly likely. They made several references in the game about who is president at the moment. I wonder when Ubisoft is gonna make a FC game where they mock antifa or blm, or the left in general. If I had to guess, I'd say thats probably not going to happen. But to send one of the best video game franchises down a nuclear apocalyptic path just because Trump won and therefore breaking the Far Cry universe? That definitely happened. The FC universe is now broken into 2. Into a post nuke universe, and into a non-nuke universe. All because Ubisoft got big mad and big sad in 2016.
I may be late but I absolutely respect far cry for making an amazing character like Joseph and thanks to Greg Berk for making this character come to life. I really like how they made the story of Joseph and his family but know I wonder what about the end will he go to heaven if he died in new dawn or would he make a new life else where if you let him live, that would be quite good if they ever make that
Man, Ive played FC5 again after all these year since the game came... Its the darkiest game of the franchise... Joseph Seed is a great villain and the DLC add more of this crazy thing about him...
This, unfortunately, takes place after New Dawn & Joseph is dead. In the book of Joseph area you can see him lying on the ground in his New Dawn appearance dead under the tree where he would grab the fruit.
I don't want to sound rude but if you go by what they say in the book of Joseph that came with far cry 5 the special edition Jacob didn't actually kill their dad they got taken away later but he did attack their first step parents for treating them like slaves and let their barn on fire
Honestly out of all villains Joseph I hated the most, killing his own child using god as an excuse for not wanting the child to begin with. Because if you listen to his phone call he seems happy to talk to his wife, but when the child’s brought up he kinda seems to hesitate. Or seems sarcastic, really knowing what he did I wanted to kill him more then any villain. Especially being a father myself, when I found out he killed them I was dead set on killing him with Pagan I spared him cause I never felt like he was truly evil he did seem to care of ajays mom sister and even ajay. Seeming happy to see Ajay whenever he did but Joseph I hated him using his past and loss as an excuse for what he did or using God as an excuse for it. I didn’t have the best childhood either nor the best upbringing don’t see me killing people off just cause of it lol.
The bias is strong here... Some people are apparently a lot manipulated by Pagan Min even tho he does the exact same stuff to innocents and equally is a cancer for Kyrat. He is ruthless dictator who kills or enslaves anyone who doesn't work or preach for and with no actual purpose for doing these things at all but oh well "i didn't want to kill him" He is literally straight up and purposely evil to everyone but Ajay and doesn't value any human life who is not Ajay and yeah doesn't have any justification... He is the most evil antagonist of the franchise because he is knowingly evil and clearly takes joyment in being ruthless. He never tries to justify or explain anything what he does, completely self motivated and he consciously enjoys being evil. Unlike Pagan, Joseph actually has good intentions, provides motivation factors to his evilness, and turns out to be right about something in the end thus the "greater good" argument actually comes on talk unlike with Pagan no matter how flawed we might say it is.
@@mightychosen2587 your half right pagan was evil but Ajay mom changed him for the better it felt like really after his daughters death and Ajays mom leaving with Ajay he just seemed to stop caring even what’s her name blames Ajays mom and him for changing pagan from a ruthless killer. She said in a cutscene he was a different person then the man she loved so not denying pagan is evil as shit but he never hide who he was Joseph was always a monster he’s a classic joker style villain just one bad day away from insanity so it’s hard for me to see pagan as the worse one cause he was always like that him and Joseph are 2 sides of the same coin one started off as a monster and started to change thanks to family one changed because of a lose of family

It is said by some that the people that are nearly broken by the world save it. With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that it's the people that truly were broken who may destroy their world.
I've always loved and respected Seed. Strangely enough.. even before the Bombs fell. But I never played 5, only the DLC for it. The Way he introduces you (The Player) to The Judge, is probably My Favourite FC quote of all time.. "I will also give leave for my Judge to follow you. They Speak only one Language.. that of Violence. In this, they will serve you well."
We already have amazing Vaas, Pagan, and Joseph DLC, they should have been also making the Anton Castillo minds DLC, I want to know his history with Yara, his moment seeing his father was killed by Libertad, and his motivation to build Yara into Paradise
If you look closely when Joseph puts the mask on the deputy, you can see his real face. I know you can choose your own character but I think it’s confirmed on who the deputy really is
From what I can tell, it seems that they probably just reused Joseph’s face. Either to save time with assets, or as a “Joseph sees himself in the Deputy”.
Only in his mind scenario. Also his final monologue really hit different for me when I played 5 as a female Deputy, especially after reading the notes around Faith's area. It was creepier
I’ve been watching so so many videos of lore form FC4, 5 and 6 and the dlcs…. My brain hurts. And I still don’t understand how any of the games are connected as people are saying in the comments.
God already told them that rook was going to kill his(Joseph) family That why when rook was killing them they say that they know it will end this way and they keep saying that father told me this will happened.
God i realised, killing him in New Dawn, is right end. As you could see if you played the DLC he has saw in visions that he will die. 😏 That is one good story.
Do you need to finish all 20 waves of Memory Level 5 to get this ending? Also I hear there are 3 endings? Can anyone tell me what are the other 2? Is it just finishing 5 rounds vs 20?
The far cry story line confused me a lot I don’t get that each game is it’s own timeline or the games are one big timeline that are connected my brain can’t process this 😭
It has been confirmed that Far Cry 3, 4, 5, New Dawn and 6 are not linked together in the same universe. Despite the Easter Eggs and references to the contrary.
I think they are slowly connecting but at the same time not. They are in different time different places, different stories. But 4 is connected to 5 and new dawn by Pagan control and 3 is connected to 6 with the Vaas secret ending. Also I dont know should this count but in far cry 4 soldiers talk about Vaas. I think the easiest answer is: they are connected but not in story
There were many Faiths......... The first one was Joseph's wife... but she died... then there were many more made to honor her and... well... all of them died as well
I thought it was really disapointing that after everything you do as the Deputy in FC5 he just ends up as the Judge, just another one of Seed's mindless tweakers. But even though the gameplay in that one was way better than New Dawn or 6, every part of the storyline was railroaded down your throat.
the incredible thing about this DLC is that Joseph doesn't recognize Ethan. which means that Joseph is in parallel universes, and there are other josephs, pagans, vaases, jackals, etc.
No, it’s not a parallel universe. Joseph is basically having one of his “visions” while he was seeing Ethan. This DLC takes place before New Dawn. Plenty of things in this DLC point that out.
Our "own character" is literally a nobody and just a camera for the player to experience the events... I can't really see much of anything specific they could do with a character who doesn't have any development at all.
Joseph is such an underrated villain. IMO, he’s second only to Vaas. Not sure why UbiSOFT insists on writing woke/emasculated characters though…I particularly despise the line where…like a bumbling idiot, he’s like “babe I put the crib together…and I’m not saying you shouldn’t look it over but it’s done,” or when he says “WE were pregnant…” haha. Come on.
So is the voice Joseph hears in this DLC his VERSION of God, or is he being mind controlled by someone? The voice sounds desperate for him to be obedient and to follow their orders.
That's an oversimplification. Faith in something that is protecting you, looking out for you can be a huge help in a person's life, it bridges the gap of the typical psychology, psychiatry or mindfulness techniques for helping a person. Joseph didn't go through hell because his faith was pointless, he went through it because of what he was putting his faith in...It wasn't God, it was himself, something he created to cope with his abuse and trauma.

Definitely not tragic. All of his pain is mostly self-inflicted.
Tragic? Naw just crazy. He sniffs his own family out, and then proceeds to “build” a new family. Makes no sense. He’s just nuts.
I only just discovered this comic like yesterday and I've only read Joseph's story so far (since he's my fave) but it's actually a really cool comic, I would recommend checking it out.
your favorite is a creepy balding man?
Edit: i think god might actually be on his side because his receding stop shrinking after far cry 5

@@SirToaster9330 Now _that_ is a wild theory. I know about the interconnectivity, but it's usually just done for Easter Eggs.

Wait, really? Jacob didn't kill their father?

FC5 had a mission of where a criminal hid amongst Peggies because he stole the President’s por no and then when you get it back and give it to the man who was supposed to help you get rid of the cult he doesn’t because he gets promoted in his job on the spot
So the in game President was protecting himself because he thought the por no got leaked
And hope county is in the middle of nowhere and Montana couldn’t piss anyone off enough to get nuked so that’s my probably true asf theory
Vaas survived cuz Jason was in a Drug Trip and maybe just killed one of Vaas men so ye
For Vaas it’s Citra, for Pagan it’s “The Tyrant” and for Jospeh it’s “The Voice”
As the end fight ensues we hear The Voice say that it was never about Eden’s hate it was about power.
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 You understood the assignment
@@detrik01 Probably they did it for people in the county to think like this.
Man hearing the voice masseges... just makes me sad... this man was a normal person...
I still side with him
It's not that we should side with him or condemn his actions.
Joseph was an amazing villain in terms of a video game but I think in a story he was fantastic. Him and his family were really interesting and twisted
They already confirmed that far cry 6 takes place in another universe so the secret ending in far cry 5 is really the only one which can be "cannon" if you will...

joseph leaves voicemails like how Brian griffin talks to any women 5:47
I like this interpretation more than the others. And it makes sense for Joseph to hear God speaking to him due to the premonitions.
What do you think? Is this a fitting end for Joseph Seed or should it have something to do with the bombs dropping like the Pagan Min DLC?
Waiting on that Pagan Min and Vaas analysis as well. Good stuff as always!

@@samuelantoniocastillomeza5034 And the voice of god is also the police giving a warning to get out.

Man this dlc was the most sad out of three. I really feel bad for Joseph.
He is ruthless dictator who kills or enslaves anyone who doesn't work or preach for and with no actual purpose for doing these things at all but oh well "i didn't want to kill him"
He is literally straight up and purposely evil to everyone but Ajay and doesn't value any human life who is not Ajay and yeah doesn't have any justification...

Wait, but in the beginning of this DLC it says how he failed so there’s no way the collapse happened.
I’ve been watching so so many videos of lore form FC4, 5 and 6 and the dlcs…. My brain hurts. And I still don’t understand how any of the games are connected as people are saying in the comments.
Bro same, I'm trying to understand😂😂
Weird they made streamlined models instead of using the higher quality models they made for farcry 5.
How do you get the ending? Because I stayed and done it co-op but I didn’t get ut
Survive all 20 waves on mind level 5 and this phone call plays after the credits.
Oh ok thanks
I'd love to play the dlc that far cry 6 has. But none of them load for me, even the main game won't load either
Bro him revealing Joseph killed his child is disturbing
Hello. No Phagan secret ending explained? We need that
This is the collapse DLC
Now I understand 😎
God already told them that rook was going to kill his(Joseph) family
That why when rook was killing them they say that they know it will end this way and they keep saying that father told me this will happened.
Why does Joseph look like Vsauce
Hey guys Vsauce Joseph here, what if we started a violent murder cult
Is this dlc before the event of fc5. The real question is I didn't play fc5 should I play it first or this DLC?
Definitely play 5 first, it is a heavy backbone for a lot of this, contextually. Second, because it's just a really great game.
@@takoshihitsamaru4675 all right thank you
This is the game between Far Cry 5 and New Dawn, it takes place at end of FC5.
Joseph Seed: I Save People For Eden's Gate
Manscaped: WE SAVE BALLS
So wait faith died twice?
There were many Faiths.........
The first one was Joseph's wife... but she died... then there were many more made to honor her and... well... all of them died as well
The twitter account Greg Bryk ist deleted. Does anyone know about it? Why?
He was VERY anti-vac and I think with the recent protests here in Canada he didn't want to be associated with the idiotic trucker convoy
Tell meh what u do usually i want that deep voice😬
I thought it was really disapointing that after everything you do as the Deputy in FC5 he just ends up as the Judge, just another one of Seed's mindless tweakers. But even though the gameplay in that one was way better than New Dawn or 6, every part of the storyline was railroaded down your throat.
What im very disappointed is, aside whatever theyre trying to tell us, theyre too lazy to make a cut scene

I understand joseph way to well lol
the incredible thing about this DLC is that Joseph doesn't recognize Ethan. which means that Joseph is in parallel universes, and there are other josephs, pagans, vaases, jackals, etc.
No, it’s not a parallel universe. Joseph is basically having one of his “visions” while he was seeing Ethan. This DLC takes place before New Dawn. Plenty of things in this DLC point that out.
this is all great, but it really falls flat for me. I really wish they gave more consideration for your character.
Our "own character" is literally a nobody and just a camera for the player to experience the events...
I can't really see much of anything specific they could do with a character who doesn't have any development at all.
@@mightychosen2587 be creative
@@gpheonix1"be creative” wym that was creative i don’t know what you complain about the whole story
@@cristofargone What? my complaint was there was little to no consideration for your character. I literally said that too.
Errrmmmm
Pretty sure John is abused in an 'adoptided' family.
🤔
Yea John, this is Joseph
I feel like John story was ruined. The entire bunker "what if" sequence was unnecessary in my opinion, for all three family members.
Why if i may ask?
Joseph is such an underrated villain. IMO, he’s second only to Vaas.
Not sure why UbiSOFT insists on writing woke/emasculated characters though…I particularly despise the line where…like a bumbling idiot, he’s like “babe I put the crib together…and I’m not saying you shouldn’t look it over but it’s done,” or when he says “WE were pregnant…” haha. Come on.
So that’s what rook looks like
Joseph was never the villain
He was always right at the beginning
Have you played new dawn?
No he was a villain, find out what a villain is.
No, he was deff the villain
So is the voice Joseph hears in this DLC his VERSION of God, or is he being mind controlled by someone? The voice sounds desperate for him to be obedient and to follow their orders.
It’s him, it’s his doubt, his fears, his ego. The voices he’s always been hearing. They’re himself.
Faith fixes nothing. No matter how much you believe in it no matter how much you believe there is a God it doesn't fix anything.
