Was this a mistake by Ubisoft or a great story telling mechanic? I WANNA KNOW! ruclips.net/video/zcOJA3zToVs/видео.html
Where was judge when new Eden was burning.
I think that this isn't a mistake. Remember the beginning of Far Cry 5, you could arrest Joseph, or not arrest him then wait for 10 mins or 20 then a secret ending will be shown. An ending where the sheriff guy (forgot his name) and rook leave the church without arresting Joseph.

Which you could find the graves of Pratt, Hudson and Whitehorse near the judges cabin.
Collapse is inevitable because pagan min died(killed by player), meanwhile while playing far cry 5....joseph seed: and behold there is a Whitehorse and hell followed with him(the player who played far cry 4)
And the player from fc 4 (ajay) was the one releasing the nukes
I played New Dawn before playing FC5. And today I've been playing FC5 for the very first time.
Its pretty cool spotting places and being like 'oh hey! That'll become Prosperity' 'That'll be the chop shop!' 'This is the bunker where...Joseph and deputy went insane...huh...'
What I wanna know is, how did my non-sneaky, MG42 wielding Deputy become sneaky and bow using. Lol.
Joseph seed:means I was right
Me:Means you need a mint
"you alright in there?"
*HEH*
Being that the Deputy is "You", "I" would have killed Joseph the first chance I got. then again there would have been 2 bodies in that bunker with me for a couple years.
What if you take the jugh to boomers grave.
This is his reaction.
**HEH**
Nothing happens, but a cool concept would be that you take the Judge to Boomer's grave, and he (because saying he or she so many times gets annoying, and it's easier) would start groaning and crying. After this, you as the player enter his memories. The concept would be to have to go to specific locations with the Judge/Deputy that were in Far Cry 5 and have him talk with specific people from Far Cry 5. Doing these things will allow the player access to specific memories of certain events that have to do with those locations and people. For example, when the Judge sees Boomer's grave, you'll be able to enter his memory center. This is because all of his memories of those locations and people are sorta greyed out, representing the fact that he doesn't remember or doesn't wish to remember those things. The goal is to complete all the memories and piece together the Deputy's past. Once you complete a memory, either by liberating the location from the Peggies or by doing specific missions for those people, the memories will become colorful again, representing the Deputy remembering more and more of his Pre-Collapse adventures in Hope County. This "rememberance" mission would not begin until after the ending of New Dawn and the complete collapse of New Eden. After completing the first memory, which is about rescuing his best friend Boomer back before the Collapse, the Deputy will start sobbing and bawling, almost like a child. He will then fall to the floor, on his knees, pounding the floor in anger. Next part would be taking him to see the Rye family and their home, Nick Rye especially. When he sees Nick, the Deputy will fall to the ground, just like with Boomer. You will then enter his mind again, and this time it will be a special memory: that of the Deputy and Nick taking down John Seed in the sky. After you complete this, the Deputy will get back up in the real world, and will actually say something, but not much. "Nick Rye, you son of a bitch! You made it!" This will cause Nick to respond with "You remember me? About fucking time! Yeah, I made it! All three of us Ryes made it!" The deputy will look confused when Nick mentions three Ryes, because as far as he remembers so far, there were only two Ryes before the Collapse. The Deputy will then talk with Kim Rye, and he doesn't remember her that well. He remembers that Nick had a wife who was pregnant, but that's about it as far as he can remember. Then, Carmina will appear, and the memory of Carmina being born will come back to him. He will also talk to Carmina somewhat. "Hey there, kid. Remember me?" Carmina will respond with yeah and then talk about how her parents told her stories about the day she was being born and how the Deputy protected her mother on the way to the hospital. Seriously, I can go and on about this concept, but it definetly sounds fucking awesome, especially since my concept for the finale would be about going to the remains of the Whitetail Mountains and getting rid of the Only You brainwashing the Deputy was subjected to back in Far Cry 5. You will then be put into a sort of imaginary arena inside the Deputy's brain where you will have to kill the animalistic persona of the Deputy in an imaginary nuked Hope County that's been crushed together into this epic fight with having to dodge flying cars, trees, Peggies shooting, a sort of arena and obstacle course smashed into one big area if you will. Once you kill the animalistic persona of the Deputy, he'll officially be himself again, and will be glad to rebuild Hope County and fuck up any Highwaymen operations or groups still remaining.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 fuck you ubisoft. You had a great chance.to make a good story arc for the judge, but no heres a cool gun for hire that has no significance other than they're the FUCKING deputy.

I felt really bad that when Gina asked The Judge if "they had some life changing trauma or something" and like the sole reason to The Deputy's belief is that the whole world went to shit because of him trying to help the people of Hope County, and that if they were to have simple left Eden's Gate alone, than the whole world wouldn't have gone to hell.
Like Rook fully believes that everything that happened was their fault, it's fucking heavy shit.
actually the nuke would went off even if he left because joseph was right
@@somerandomgadzo4778 that's his point, it's heavy because dep has a false sense of guilt that is driving it to act how it does in New dawn
The whole point of rooks guilt trip is how he never heard of the bombs or anything going on in hope county and bardged in so when shit got real and the bombs fell when joseph says the world will burn made him feel it was real and that he caused gods wrath and killed everyone. But really this war just came at a terrible time. Hes only responsible for the bunkers and nothing else
YoursTruly 2729 Rook believes it is his fault and no not really it was Joseph’s
@@hazard9520 how is it Joseph's fault?

😅😅😅
"give me the mask so no one knows who I am!"
"Hey deputy."
"Damnit"
Someone talks to rook (rook gives death stare to them ) guy gets creep out
what if things had ended this way? When Joseph realizes his mistakes he begs the player to kill him. If the player refuses (and has the judge/rook as a follower) Joseph will still drop to his knees. He starts yelling “Release me!” The player backs up, still not killing him. Suddenly a gunshot goes off. Joseph, looks down at the entry wound. Both he and the player look to see the Judge has killed him. Without saying anything, the Judge simply turns around, drops his mask on the floor, and keeps walking away. So it leaves it open to interpretation if Rook came to his senses/ avenged his fellow officers. If anyone was justified to kill the father, it was rook.
Rook would not do that Joseph was right
I wad genuinely thinking almost the exact same scenario
The most fucking detailed scenario I've ever heard probably.I imagined the scene going through my head while reading your comment. I hope Ubisoft makes a dlc of him getting his sanity back because that would be awesome.
Sounds reasonable except all the Judge has is a bow, unless he took one of the player’s guns

It took me a whole year to realize that Joseph's speech to the Rook in the bunker mirrors Dutch's speech to Rook in the exact same bunker, with Rook being tied to the exact same thing.

Also, the American flag in the background of the cutscene had an Eden’s Gate symbol where the stars are, but at the beginning of the game, it was just a normal American flag. Idk how Joseph put that Edens Gate logo on the flag in that short of time
It’s really sad if you think about the fact that the deputy actually thinks everything is his fault
I mean they probably have some extreme survivors guilt from the nuke going off
@@friccle_ not just that, he had no idea that a nuclear war was going to happen. He probably thinks that Joseph's god actually unleashed it's wrath upon the earth because he tried to intefere with their preparations in FC5.

They should've kept the deputy as the main character continue their story
The Vinkler , honestly I wish there was some DLC where you play a broken Deputy/Rook as the Judge and they’d steer the gameplay and objectives as you’re doing things for New Eden/Joseph (like Bioshock how you were being unwittingly controlled by Fontaine) but more experiences in the world and interacting with people, reading notes from past characters like Tracey, and visiting familiar locations from Far Cry 5 in New Dawn help the Rook get their memory/their personality and self back.
Don't think so, the new vision of the deputy is really good. The real fuck up problem is that they didn't do much revolving it's new version of itself, like why not be more deep about the character, it was a main character for fuck sakes!

Rook deserved so much better
Just like many of the similar brainwashed people he indiscriminately killed in far cry 5 who were just coerced or brainwashed to adhere to a viewpoint aswell...
Faith is a prime example to that even on a fairly worse level and is clearly as evident brainwashed and groomed into it as a vulnerable naive minded teenager and she is clearly affected and "dependent" on the the bliss herself and traumatized aswell, but yet the deputy still murder a crying young traumatized girl begging for mercy without showing any desire to help like ANY good person would do.
If she deserves to die then the deputy and other people exposed to brainwashing also deserves to die based on the same logic otherwise it is insanely biased.
ANY good person should be able to understand that people may be caught up on the "evil path" and brainwashed and thus prefer to help and redeem the person(especially if the person basically breaks down and shows redeeming qualities) EVEN tho the person is responsible for bad things but all in all it is not like the deputy shows much of such mindset at all throughout the game which is why the Judge couldn't fit better on them.

He finally achieve his vision "New Eden" to restart a new life so no need for violence from that point on.
See, that happened but I don't think that was the reason. Basically Joseph and Rook's worlds were destroyed (figuratively and literally) Joseph was shown a vision of the apocalypse and it came to pass. As such he HAD to believe that EVERYTHING was god's plan, INCLUDING Rook coming to try and stop him and kill his followers. So it's less of Rook influencing him, and Joseph trying to rationalize what happened with his faith.
I like how Joseph refers to The Judge as "they" in reference that the main characters gender was determined by the player, but the problem is the body shape seems make it very clear he's a man
I'd not say that. It's not clear at all, it's fucking rectangle. The Judge wears their clothes and masks for hiding their personality plus they cannot stop hating themselves. Why don't you're questioning why they wear all this clothing when it's obviously hot as hell?

I think thats a bit correct and a bit not.
I think the dep simply got indoctrinated by Joseph how all of it was his fault, which it kinda was, how he is Pride and knows only violence and all that and dep became just that a spirit of violence with no will of his own because last time he had free will he got most of his friends killed.
Joseph probs took the 17 years to think about his sins as well, he was sad his family is gone but I think he came to understand why "god" wanted his family to die because they were torturing ppl to follow them and if you push too hard you will be pushed back. Nope Deputy is confirmed to be a man!
I was thinking after the father gave me the judge as a companion that maybe it was rook, then I looked it up and apparently it’s not even a theory it’s just true
This a sad Rook did what he could to save billions of life's for his own.
Came here after finishing both games and it makes even more sense to me because I finished FC5 mainly using the bow. So sad to see how Rook turned out.
At least me and my boy rook can still deliver justice of the 50. Cal variety.
Time to shoot down some planes!
Gotta love it when games acknowledge that the protagonist (or former one for this game) is a silent one.
My problem with this is the same problem I had with the brainwashing plot in FC5... that being that Rook is not a character.
What I mean by this is that the Rook (or Dep.) is a self-insert of the player with no personality or traits of their own. Instead of a Jason Brody type of character where we are playing as them and experiencing the story with them, Rook is more like a Skyrim or Fallout protagonist where we project our own personality and choices onto them and in effect have them play as us (hence why they have no name or voice). The problem is that at certain points both FC5 and New Dawn take away control and force us to do things that we would never do. In 5 it was killing Eli as while they basically let us choose to kill or spare most other characters (or had them die regardless of our actions) we were forced to go through with shooting him even though it was blatantly obvious we were being brainwashed and had been forced to storm the Wolf's den. If we had been privy to Rooks thoughts like we were for AJ and Jason then maybe we could rationalize how they had been broken, but instead we're left with a game that takes away all of your agency over a character you yourself created.
This issue is compounded in New dawn as The Judge most likely bears no resemblance to the version of The Deputy you created. They have yet again taken away the agency of the player and forced your avatar in this world to do/become something you are not. In a better written game this could actually work as a commentary on player agency and our actions in a virtual world (think Spec-ops the Line) but the clumsy and half-assed execution just made the whole thing feel forced and vaguely insulting.
They really fucked up on the Eli part, they bothered creating new endings, why not a fucking choice!? It wouldn't change the story so much, are they that much of a sloth? I literally was ultra pumped up of playing the game again thinking i could fix some of my choices... A real shame and lost opportunity really... Sloppy work Ubisoft.
This is a pretty good rundown of the problem with Far Cry 5 and ND
Yeah well everyone still loves him and so do I there's nothing more precious than watching the judge take a water bottle and press it up against its mask I saw that and it was adorable
I roleplayed the Captain as Rook's son from the beginning, giving him a look similar to my FC5 MC. The way that the story developed felt very interesting, unknowingly being pit against Joseph's son and working with his father who is brainwashed and behind a mask.

Imagine this whole time he's had "Only You" play in his earphones or some shit like that, and if you play with him as a companion long enough, the music player drops from his inventory and a whole "I have come to my senses" type scene plays and he changes from his clothing at some point, showing scars and shit like that.
Just imagine.
I'd rather have that. I'm mad that ubisoft left this games story in the dust
The problem with Joseph Seed is that no matter how right he was, he was still wrong. There was no room to sympathize for him
I feel that the Rook was a male and the Captain is a female, and from most RUclips videos I’ve seen including this one, I’m not the only one that thinks that.
Like canonically? You can make them whatever you want them to be in the games.
I played mine as both female which in my mind made father so much worse having a son so old and not being able to leave a bunker so soon after the bombs blew

at 10:34 Hurk doesn't have tattoos on his arms. But in farcry 4 he said he got's one tattoo on his arm for jason, and one for the Jackal.
They're different hurks I believe
The ending to Far Cry 5, being locked in the bunker with Joseph made me realize Far Cry 5 would work very very well as a horror game
You know, i wish our characters talk and choose to wake up The Judge from this cult, so our characters and that Deputy could go against all the cults in this game
Nana offering to listen to their problems was one of the best interactions
It'd be cool if sheriff Whitehorse was in the game, his interactions with rook would be really cool
Unfortunately, he, Hudson, and Pratt all died during the apocalypse. Earl Whitehorse in particular went right through the windshield of the truck, so he is 100% dead. The rest either broke their necks against the impact or perished in the flames.
Jesus is truth.
What if he still had the mask you put on yourself in 5, raptor man still lives
Despite how he said absolutely nothing at all in both far cry 5 and new dawn, yet left such an impact to have had an outfit based off of him appear in every new far cry game since 5 says a lot on how Ubisoft can create a character from other peoples perspectives and basically just hand movements.
I can't believe deputy become a religious psychopat like the rest of Joseph squad.He/She was so badass in far cry 5.
It was the right choice to make
Would be awesome if you could continue the story of deputy and become the judge and play as him/her
For far cry New Dawn I was hoping for some sort of breakout where the rookie breaks out of Joseph's grasp.
poor deputy. dude's been through a lot
FC5 and new dawn is fun. But it leaves me with 1 question. HOW THE HELL DID THEY COME UP WITH THIS CRAP?!!!
