Id be very interested to watch a series by you on various extinct animals, from mammoths to dinosaurs. Keep up the good work!
Fun Fact: This jellyfish was one of the villains that Sherlock Holmes once fought.
Yeah I was brought by him
Yess, and that is one of my favorite stories of Sherlock Holmes cases
I came for this comment! The story is titled "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane" and was written in 1926. Watson is not in the story so Holmes is the narrator. I read it when I was a kid and it creeped me out, now I find it a fascinating story.
I saw a lion's mane jellyfish Swimming in the water near the harbor and it was a rare sight but it was so amazing just to see a jellyfish bobbing in the water
Jellyfish are the most interesting creatures on earth 🌎 imo

Hey, Leo, lend a hug, me hearty.
Me, too.
The loveliest voice on RUclips. ❤
I was swimming with baby lion's mane jellies just the other day!
I loved seeing these washed up on the beaches on the north coast of PEI. Less so when I was in the water. The sting was like a burn that lasted an hour or so
The first time I learned that jellyfish has two forms, it just blow my mind.
Nice
These have been on beaches along the north east coast of the UK 🇬🇧
Cheers love
why does your voice sound so familiar? interesting video
We see these a lot on the east coast of Scotland, North Sea.
I Heard Of That Jellyfish Lived in Alaska And Canada!
So is it the currents that force them to the coast?
Yes
King Jellyfish
If you count the tentacles as part of the animal, you could argue that this is actually the biggest animal living on Earth because it's even longer than the ~30 meter long blue whale!
No, giant siphonophores grow to far far far FAR longer.
@@moritamikamikara3879 Yeah, according to Wikipedia:
"On April 6, 2020, the Schmidt Ocean Institute announced the discovery of a giant Apolemia siphonophore in submarine canyons near Ningaloo Coast, measuring 15 m (49 ft) diameter with a ring approximately 47 m (154 ft) long, possibly the largest siphonophore, and longest animal, ever recorded."
Definitely longer than a blue whale.
They can regenerate and clone from the severed body part
Plus they are bioluminescent
They are so strong
I don't want to run into this in the ocean
Ever!
I petted one of these while SCUBA diving 2 days ago 😁 there cute in their own way.
It's tentacles is 36.6 m (120 ft) long so it's the longest animal on earth for comparison a blue whale is 33.6 metres (110 ft)
What if I touch the bell?
hanako kun fan?
you can touch/pett the belly, just not the tentacle
lions mane jellyfish need to be nerfed it's huge and also can hurt you
And leatherbacks eat them like nothing happened
Smaller jellyfish have the most painful stings.
Sherlock Holmes brought me here
Man of culture
