People have this insane idea that technology is this magic thing that doesn't depend on energy, but without modern energy, a multi-speed bicycle would still be the epitome of technology.
...and considering that, even in the United States, energy production, per-person is going _down,_ there is no way we are going anywhere.
Even 'green energy' _production_ makes this problem worse as it burns, overall *_more_* traditional fuels on the back end, while providing even _less_ useable energy at its front end/output. (I as compared to just burning that fuel outright. Its a sad thing.)

To live on this coast, first in the Channel Islands, and now here in Monterey Bay was a blessing. I will try to teach my grandson as much as I can about this beautiful planet we live on, and focus as much as possible on Oceanography. The ocean is still such a vast place, and so little explored. - a pelvis that makes childbirth difficult and sometimes deadly
      - a poorly designed eye that places tissue in front of the light receptor cells
      - vestigial organs and features that can lead to complications (e.g. appendix, wisdom teeth, etc.)
      and more.
If you'd like to learn more about macroevolution, you should really take that up with an evolutionary biologist. I'm sure they'd love to discuss modern theories on the matter.
