I have a pair, and I moded them with a removable cable :) The mod made really enjoyable while commuting, and on the go. There is a video on my channel if you are interested.
You dont need to worry about the exposed wires on top of the cups, trust me. I have been using DT770 Pros and DT1990 Pros for over 6 years now, and the cables show no signs of damage over the years. I dont think that they will ever break. The design of the TYGRs is basically the same as any DT series headphone, and that design has been prooven to last for EVER! I know of a pair that is over 30 years old and still functioning perfectly. And if something ever gets damaged, beyerdynamic basically sells every part of nearly every headphone they have ever sold as spares.
Just cause its low impedance doesnt mean that its going to be easy to drive, while they are 32 ohm they are 96 dB spl which is significantly on the lower side, so you will need to crank them to 80+ vol on most common devices and phones w/o and amp or decent dac.
Nice! I wish you'd do more big headphones. GAMESKY Have you ever heard if the STATUS BT ONE on ear headphones? I just purchased them. They've got quite the appreciation from the community. Oh, also you gotta check out the FIIL CANVIIS on ear headphones also.
You can replace everything on BD headphones, maybe not plug'n'play but some DIY soldering work and you're good to go. There are easly avaible parts, guides on YT and ofc these are handmade headsets with simple construction to troubleshoot.
For me the fixed cable is not a problem, since my MMX300 has now the problem, that the jack on the headset is damaged from plugging in and out quite often. So, doesn´t matter really.
@@User0155 Like he said, if you have on already attached, it is prone to damage and it won't be replaceable. Also some people want to use custom cables.
I own a 990 pro, which cable is also not detachable. Although its old, I pulled the cable a lot and drove over it with my chair may times, there are no issues yet, so I would not worry too much. This is why we almost think that it has to be like that, but actually its not difficult to build a robust cable which lasts a very long time and this is what Bayerdynamic did.

Hi... Quick question, why does the picture on the link provided(for the sifi bomakers true wireless earbuds) not match the ones appearing on your video
Sorry that I am late to the party but another great video.. Nice to hear that these can be used for both gaming and music and media and not only gaming as all other gaming headset they are for gaming and gaming only..
Wasn't too thrilled with the attached wire...but after owning them for a few months? Ain't even an issue. At all. The wire length is just about perfect for me and it's thick enough and pliable enough to not really worry too much about it screwing up. That said, Beyerdynamic really does need to shift toward removable cables. Especially on sets they've got hewing toward the gaming market like these. But the outer cables? That's a staple. Part of the design language. Just take care of your stuff. Sound is excellent. Open, smooth, present bass, recessed (not that much) mids, bright but smooth highs, wider soundstage than the HE4XX and HD6XX. Overall just a nice, pleasant experience.
@@TsunTzu is the m220s sound stage larger than the tygr? The AKG Q701 Ive read have a sound stage just a little smaller than the hd800/s. I've had the Q701 and loved the massive sound stage.
Hey man great video! I have a question tho, wanted to treat myself to some true wireless earbuds with anc but can't decide which ones to get. I really wanna get the 1 more anc's but the Amazon reviews scare me. Your review on them gives me hope though. In your opinion, are they worth getting or should I go for something like the Sony's?
My opinion from myself to you is try Anker P2 soundcore true wireless. They go for about 50 on amazon and they're pretty nice cheap set that last for about 40 in total with case charged and the sound quality is pretty good for the price.
I live in europe, but aparently not in the correct country of europe since I can't buy them from their webpage and get them shipped to me. And retailers only carry the bundle with the included mic that I would never use. How frustrating when I finally find a pair of headphones I believe in!
Another great content Keith, nice gaming/everyday audio open back headphones like you said it would be nice if it had a mic but again is beyerdynamic can't go wrong with them so have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and as well to you and your family stay safe
Confused...you mentioned they tuned these to “bring out the mids” but I find that they scooped the mids quite a bit to the point where I feel like my ears are clogged when using them. Do you think using the Schiit Hel might help bring out the mids a little more?
Id assume that the tygr will have a larger soundstage. Its an open back. The mobius has a narrow soundstage. I dont think it images too great either... I own a mobius and it gets used to bluetooth to my phone for just regular music with the 3d turned off.
Overall resolution is probably higher but the 770 treble makes everything sound extremely detailed especially for a closed-back, at least after you get used to it
Yeah, like I too wish they'd do detachable cable; still don't get that, in one sense. BUT, having said this, price wise, outside of that, these are legit and a good set of cans..👍🏼💯✌🏼
Great video man!!! I am between this and the Sennheiser HD58x Jubilee. Supposedly, you can also power these with your phone (according to Sennheiser), but I have not seen any videos of anyone talking about that. Do you know? If not, I will get the TYGR 300 R soon. Your body DMS also likes them a lot and same for the man who never gets upset on his reviews 😉
The 58X is easy to power and your phone will get them loud enough. It comes down to what you value more; detail and imaging (TYGR) or warm sound (58X).
Theres a metal frame instead of plastic So they had to leave the wires exposed rather than tucking them into a plastic housing. Hyper X Cloud 2, Wireless and Alpha Are made just like this with metal framing
New product, but looks quite odd. Earpads diameter look rather small. Very short cable, and it's non-removable. Who wants to be stuck with a headphone having a 1.6 meter cable? No idea of the driver size, like is it 40, 45, or 50mm? Not sure this is worth USD $125, which is what Thomann Music is selling them for in Germany.
