So i had the Nuraphones for 3 years, and they just gave out after i used them moderately. Some tidbits as a guy who's owned these for about a year: * They are user serviceable!! You can twist the ear-cups off to get at the insides to replace the battery and what have you. You will need a soldering iron for that. * The secure clip thing for the cables is actually pretty useful. Not for something yanking the cable as much as it gradually loosening over time from you moving around. It's also easy to not lose it since it can clip into the wires on top of the cups. * They aren't the most comfortable, but they do have some funky tricks to make it better. Those little holes along the ridge of the cups are apparently tesla valves that create airflow inside, air comes in from the bottom and out the top. They certainly don't get too warm.

Some tidbits as a guy who's owned these for about a year:
* They are user serviceable!!

I've been keeping an eye on these things for a couple of years. Just spotted a mint condition set on ebay for around half the price and snapped them up. The comment about "old mate's gold" has me buying some fresh ear tips though. Hahaha.
Edit: These things are now my daily driver. The sound is amazingly crisp, the battery lasts me weeks on end without a charge, and I don't mind that they kinda look like PPE, in a workshop setting I get away with wearing them and nobody thinks twice about what I have on my head. I also installed my own lock nuts to the headband once I got them fitted to my head.

It was a startup in 2015, they've released new products since the Nuraphone. It would be ignorant to assume they will fail as a company.
@@tamazhi6762 ...Right, because every 5 year company with a few products succeeds.
@@TheNobleFive When the value of their stock continues to rise, with profits increasing each year, and new products being released. It really is stupid to speak as if they've already failed as a company, and assume that going under is an inevitability. Every company was once a startup Afterall. In that 5 years the company managed to go global, and keep up the supply with the demand. At least in the short term, they have proven to know what they are doing. Of course this doesn't determine long-term success of the company, new leadership can run it into the ground, but for now the current CEO is doing great things for the company.
He does have a point. Remember Jibo, that dumb Alexa/Google-like robot? It was over 4 years old when the company went bankrupt and now all of the $900 "robots" do nothing and are very expensive paper weights.

Me and my ex shared a pair of Nuraphones- and I can confirm that it sounded better to me on my personalized setting than it did on his. (I wanted to see if they actually sounded different) and he said he preferred his setting to mine- and we had the "immersion mode" turned down for the tests. They can also tell who it is when you put them on (Idk how but it was pretty accurate too- it only got it wrong a couple times and switched to my ex's settings when i put them on) I can only assume its using the same weird inner ear mapping that sets your personalized "bubble" to identify who it is by the ear shape.
