Nice to see that you have finally familiarized yourself to Beyerdynamic headphones. It is probably my favorite headphone manufacturer considering the price-quality ratio. I am glad that you liked them and we can expect more reviews of Beyerdynamic products from you. 😄👍🏻

I really like your in depth reviews and and tweaks. I was able to fix my clamping pressure on both my 560s and pc38x by using a nice looking piece of black Velcro over the top of the bands and connected to each side. It really opens them up and you can adjust the clamping force as needed. I do love the Tygr for comfort and will try out your Sonar tune. I don’t play to many comp shooters so I have just been using the 560s since I fixed them and love the sound stage and sound quality. Wish Sennheiser would focus on comfort more.

My main headset is still the Audeze Penrose X. I’m curious, have you tweaked with the EQ’s on the Penrose’s since you’ve opened your ears to so many other headsets or still going with what you already have? Awesome video man!

I would really love to see you try more Beyerdynamic products in the future :D. For example there are very few comparisons around between h6 pro closed and dt770 (or mmx300).
In the video it seems to me that you didn't talk about them directly, but it seems to me that the tygr300 are not particularly difficult headphones to drive, and you can use them at dun decent volume even connecting them to the controller?

I can confirm, too, that the TYGR gets loud enough when connected to controller, but you'll notice that the volume setting must be set a bit higher than an average gaming headset to get a decent level of sound from them.

I've had mine for roughly 3 years now & recently just replaced the pads with the same original pads just new as the old ones had recessed over time.
Absolutely love this headphone, I use mine with a Schiit fulla E for PS5, & a Schiit modi3/Asgard 3 for music/pc gaming ... The sound with those combinations is so fun to listen to music for hours, & amazing for video games.
I've tried numerous other headphones over the years, Moondrop, hifimans, & more & I've never had any headphone that has just hit on everything I need it to. These are by far the most comfortable, fun sounding, easy warm listening, but also great gaming performance headphone I've ever owned.
The sound also grew on me even more over time because as the pads became more squashed in, the sound altered to be a bit more dark I guess, & made music felt like voices had even more soul to them.
I'll be continuing to maintain them & just replace the pads maybe once every few years, also they're built like a tank & don't have a single scratch on them or issue!

    • @drewmorg.
      @drewmorg. Год назад +5

Everyone wants a detachable cable for "easy replacement" not realizing the pins and the port itself is a weak point in most of those headsets. They can easily break, then what? The nice thing about the cable in these Beyers is unless you completely yank it free of the headset you cannot damage it and it does not wear out AT ALL... not even the rubber. I have daily driven the DT 770 for almost 3 years before I had a cable issue and that was only because I stepped on the cable while standing up from a squat position. I repaired the solder joint in 5 minutes and back in business like it never happened. Cable is perfectly fine didn't even have to buy a new part. This design has been around for 30 years for a reason!

    • @peddypeoples941
      @peddypeoples941 10 месяцев назад +1

they are build like a tank and can be repaired no problem, the cable is oldschool strong. Beyerdynamic makes their stuff to last and be servicable, those are around since the 80s.

I play games 99% of the time on PS5, and most of that time is without a headset so I can hear a lot of the game sounds and music through my soundbar. So I'm used to using the controller's microphone, which honestly isn't a bad microphone. So these not having a mic is perfectly fine for me, especially when I play something like theHunter: Call of the Wild where I prefer a headset to hear exactly where and how far something is coming from, and don't need a mic at all. The only games I play that I use a microphone with are NBA and NHL and most of the time I don't even say anything, so these might be the next ones to add to my collection.

    • @dragonsbreath8653

Beyerdynamic MMX300 is the same Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm, only with a microphone. Beyerdynamic MMX300 and Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm sound the same and have the same frequency response. Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32 Ohm are not for gaming at all, they only sound great in music and movies, but they sound terrible in games, they simply lack mids and highs in games. If you take it for games, then it’s better to look at the Beyerdynamic MMX100/150. The Beyerdynamic MMX100/150 has raised the mids and highs and lowered the bass. Beyerdynamic MMX100/150 headphones sound excellent, natural speech, booms appear where necessary, there is no boom like the Razer BlackShark V2, Sennheiser HD 599, comfortable high frequencies and do not hurt the ears like the Logitech G Pro X and the sound is rich, not so flat like HyperX Cloud Alpha S. I have a Beyerdynamic MMX150 for games, and a Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm for music and cinema

    • @victorzuniga5187

I know its a 8 months late answer, open back provides wider soundstage (great for gaming as you can hear sounds more around you, not always the cause with some intimate narrow soundstage open backs like the 6xx), and yes less fatigue as well because the sound isn't being forced directly into your ear like a closed back. Closed backs do offer better thump in the bass, not that open backs don't have good bass, but because of the closed design you "feel" it more, every headphone is different though and not all closed backs have good bass. Open back planars have some insane bass extensions that can make it feel like you have a mini subwoofer in your ear.

Play3 has an up to 300ohm setting and will drive these way loud (24/96)
Play4 is specked up to 150ohms, 24/192 and on my phone is loud enough , but on my PC will go crazy loud. Headphones or speakers. BD is quality in construction. I will get a separate mic when needed.

I haven't listened to the Beyerdynamic DT1990 headphones, but I have listened to the Logitech G Pro X, Sony INZONE H3, HyperX Cloud Alpha S, Sony MDR-7506, Audio-Technica ATH-M30x, Shure SRH440A-EFS, Sennheiser HD 569/599/HD660S, Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 32/80/250 Ohm, Beyerdynamic DT 880/990/1770 PRO 250 Ohm, Beyerdynamic MMX150/MMX300 and I have an understanding of how they sound. When I listened to all these headphones, I also looked at the frequency characteristics of the headphones to understand. I have Beyerdynamic MMX150 and Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm headphones. I can say that the Beyerdynamic DT 770/880/990/1770 PRO 250 Ohm sound great in music and cinema, but are not suitable for gaming. All of them in games lack mid and high frequencies, which creates a muffled feeling, you can barely hear where the enemy is and you may not hear how the enemy reloads the weapon. I did not listen to the Beyerdynamic DT1990, but judging by the frequency response of the headphones, the Beyerdynamic DT1990 headphones are also not suitable for gaming. I will add that in terms of frequency response, the Beyerdynamic DT1990 does not sound as great as the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 250 Ohm. Compare them yourself according to the frequency characteristics. The Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 250 Ohm has a better frequency response than the Beyerdynamic DT1990. In the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 250 Ohm, the low frequencies end at 250 Hz (see description of frequencies below) and do not overlap the mid frequencies, thus we hear all frequencies well, and in the DT1990 the lower frequencies affect the lower mids and high mids, and you can hear a boom like I heard this boominess with the Sennheiser HD599, and the speech will not be as natural as with the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 250 Ohm. Sennheiser HD 569 sounds clearer than Sennheiser HD599 and this is heard very well, and all because the Sennheiser HD 569 lower frequencies end at 200 Hz (see description of frequencies below).
For games, it’s better to look at the Beyerdynamic MMX100/150, they have specially raised the mid and high frequencies and in games you can clearly hear sounds at these frequencies and excellent positioning, which the Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990/1770 PRO 250 Ohm cannot give, because they have there are simply not enough frequencies in this range, but the Beyerdynamic MMX100/150 do not sound very good in music, higher frequencies distort the sounds of music. You can watch a movie, but it’s not as interesting to listen to as it is with the Beyerdynamic DT770/880/990/1770 PRO 250 Ohm. There is also the Beyerdynamic MMX300 and they are positioned as premium gaming headphones, but in fact, the Beyerdynamic MMX300 is the same Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 32 Ohm, only with a microphone. Beyerdynamic MMX300 and Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 32 Ohm sound the same and have the same frequency response. Therefore, the Beyerdynamic MMX300 are not gaming headphones at all, unless they have a microphone. It would be right if you personally listen to the headphones in an audio store, if there is such a store in your city. I highly recommend listening to headphones through the FiiO K9 PRO sound amplifier. I listened to: FiiO K7, FiiO K9, FiiO K9 PRO, EarMen ST-Amp, HiFiMAN EF400. The FiiO K7 and HiFiMAN EF400 are terrible. FiiO K7 is budget and the sound is no different from the built-in sound in the computer motherboard, and HiFiMAN EF400 is expensive, but it sounds boring, the sound is dry, uninteresting. I was told that it needs to be warmed up for 100-150 hours and then it will spring up beautifully. I find that an audio amplifier either immediately sounds beautiful or it doesn't. FiiO K9 already sounds more interesting than FiiO K7 and HiFiMAN EF400, and FiiO K9 PRO and EarMen ST-Amp sound great, both are good in their own way and it’s difficult to choose. But the EarMen ST-Amp has a problem that is why I didn't buy it, it's clicking when scrolling or rewinding a music track. The clicks sound like someone tapping on a microphone. They appeared after 30-40 minutes of listening. I was really upset because the EarMen ST-Amp sounded amazing. The FiiO K9 PRO does not sound as warm as the EarMen ST-Amp, but it is very analytical, ultra-precise, beautiful, great bass, it does not care about the source and produces sounds purely, no clicks, everything is at a high level. With FiiO K9 PRO Beyerdynamic MMX150 and Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 Ohm sound much more interesting and very cool.
      Description of frequencies:
      32 Hz Sub Bass
      64 Hz Mid Bass
      125 Hz Upper Bass
      250 Hz Lower mid
      500 Hz Center mid range
      1000 Hz Upper mid
      2000 Hz Low High
      4000 Hz Mid high
      8000 Hz Upper Treble
      16000 Hz Upper octave

I dont get why they don't build them with a detactable cable. Beyerdynamic even sell a very good boom mic, that could go into a plug on the side.

Lol SOON I promise. I have to respect brands that send me stuff for review over items I purchase, so I have a few others I'm releasing over the next couple weeks but I seriously hope to release this when I can. Tons of good stuff coming though. If it helps, I mentioned the 560S in my "Best Wired Gaming Headset" video I released recently.

I got a DT 770 pro 250 ohm recently for my gaming/music/movie needs. I Don't play competitive shooters so I was looking for immersion. Dt770pros deliver on that front. I plug it directly into my laptop 3.5mm jack and it works fine for gaming. When I listen to music I run it through ifi go blu. Looking for a desktop dacamp to match my dt770s for music purposes but for now it works fine.

OK so get this,.. Got the Nova 7s and wow, they really are pretty awesome! So, 2 weeks into having them I download Discord to talk to a friend. After the install the headset is EFFED.. lol The volume knob on the right side of the headset now does nothing and all sound is pushed thru the chatmix side. Its totally messed up, even after moving the dongle to a phone to see if that would change it back. Nope. headset has somehow changed the code and is totally fked up. Can use it still but only when the chatmix is cranked and you hear your surroundings buzzing cause of how high the it needs to be to hear anything. SO FAR steelseries has has no clue what to do.. 200 dollar mess up. Ooof.
Now I wait to see what they tell me next. might just be 200 bucks into the trash. hahaha.. wow

I have both the TYGRs and the DT770 pros. Both are easily my favorite headphones/headsets of all time. I love the comfort and convenience of the TYGRs (convenience being because anything can drive them). The 770s need a little more power (80 ohms), aren’t as comfortable out of the box, and aren’t open back. With that said, i feel with EQ the 770s sounded better and seemed to me to have either a wider or much clearer soundstage. With EQ imaging is about the same.

DT 770 is available as 32 ohm model as well. That model is probably more relevant when it comes to gaming, as many (console) gamers connect their headphones directly to controller.
