I have to be honest guys. you have inspired me so much with your videos that I have just spent $2300 on my first cnc machine. I will start to do stuff like this for veterans, But small stuff first. Thank you for sharing these videos with mere mortals like me.
@@AntiViGames the onefinity woodworker. I will be getting a water cooked spindle. For the sake of noise reduction. You have shown me just what is possible, with wood and a cnc. The pure beauty of some of your work is astounding. I hope that when I am unable to do my job because of my mobility problems, I will still be able to do my cnc.Thank you for the inspiration. I hope my ideas tick the boxes for my fellow veterans. Only time will tell.
Thanks for this demo. I have just been looking at this for my 1st cnc especially as you will be able to enlarge at a later date. Do you do inlay instructional videos? UK
Hi Nik, I've been doing some research into started CNC machines. Did you try it's with the default 775 9,000 or 20,000 rpm motors & 3mm shank cutter compared to the heavier duty DeWalt router?
when you have a good sander like the one he has, you can always make a beautiful inlays, if not go sand it on a piece of sandpaper on top of a glass sheet all day LOL
I have a question - how do you do the square inner corners of the letters with a round tool? I've seen machining videos where a round-to-square auger is used to push through a circular drill hole to carve it out into a square, but that was a manual tool, and it only moved vertically.
It the set up that is shown here it wouldn’t be possible to get square corners. The wood would need to be held in several vertical positions to be milled out. Even then only simple letters would be able to be machined this way. That is why he used a tapered endmill. It can give the appearance of having square sharp corners by tapering the wall downwards. The inlay piece is then milled in a mirrored path and when the fit together the two loom square. Even then though a truly perfect 90° corner isn’t possible. I hope this answers your question
Hello. I am thinking about buying this machine and i was wondering if you know or if you tried, what is the thickest piece of wood you can cut with a straight router bit. I hope you can give me some light about the matter. Thank you! (Ps. I want to cut wood about 50 to 60 millimeters, and what kind of bit should I use!) :) Hope to hear your opinion!
For the inlay piece, did you have you do and some kind of an offset? Or just simply cut the female piece from inside the line and cut the male piece from outside the line?
I don't claim to speak for the op, but since he isn't answering, all you have to do is upload a stencil or file. The software will calculate all the tool paths depending on the tool or tools you use.
I use the same tape. What software do you use? I just started subscribing to easel pro by inventables, I have been wanting to do inlays like this for several months and I don’t think the program does this. Had the idea months before I first saw your videos a few months ago. TIA.
The only other CNC machine at this price point would be a maslow but even that can be more with materials. Maybe Bob's cnc but again no router included. This at least comes with a spindle.
You're using those clamps in totally the wrong way. They're supposed to be used with another long setscrew at the back, and they should be as close to horizontal as possible.

Which one did you opt for?

@@iaidoman Best of luck to you!
This proves how much the talent behind the machine matters. Love the videos it is definitely a inspiration
Thank you very much. Your work is amazing. I was on the fence about this machine but now I'm buying it
Did you buy it?
Work smart, not hard. Beautiful idea with the 1 piece inlay
But can it do the lovely intricate stuff that we all love and want to be able to do, like the Marine Corps or the Hattori Samuri etc???
Can you share your settings i.e.( Pass Depth, Feed Rate, Plunge Rate) as a good starting point.
Just play with the machine capability. That is your starting point. His brain is not like everyone's brain so use it.
Clearly shows them in the video. What.?
Could you provide details on your more expensive machine? I.e. make/model/size/price ?
Yes it works with Dewalt DWP611 router!
how big the wood can be?
Thanks for this demo. I have just been looking at this for my 1st cnc especially as you will be able to enlarge at a later date. Do you do inlay instructional videos? UK
Will it route ⅛" aluminum?
What kind of tape are you using? Seems like it holds strong the wood piece on the spoilboard
Double sided carpet tape works good iv herd
Hi Nik,
I've been doing some research into started CNC machines. Did you try it's with the default 775 9,000 or 20,000 rpm motors & 3mm shank cutter compared to the heavier duty DeWalt router?
I used dewalt. You can use starter router for small projects, but if you need better performance dewalt will be better.
You're amazing and you got me!!!
After all that CNCing, doing freehand on a band saw?
Is the ER20 collet set you are using compatible with the Dewalt 611/26200 router?
*5:20* Whats that machine do & where can I get it?
It's a bandsaw
Interesting way to make an inlay.

So it can't cut all the way through that thick of a board ?
What is your main CNC make and model?
SAINSMART Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030....the big brother of Sainsmart 3018
What RPM did you run the router at?
But is this the machine he uses every day? I see a list of stuff he uses but not the CNC. I'll keep looking.
what software do you use?
So this machine is capable of cutting into hard woods and not just soft woods?
would you recommend this for a beginner woodworker?
what constitutes as inexpensive?
Hello Nik, what is the price of this complete machine

how thick of a peice of wood could you do?
What CNC machine do you use?
lol
anyone tried metals like alluminium and stuf on this cnc?

Where do you get your tape
Can someone explain or give me link how to change machine’s own router with this dewalt router ?
U need to purchase z axis
for DeWalt router size
Hey, great video, what speed number was the router in during the cutting? Do you remember? Thanks! Love the channel!
Looks ridged enough. Is it?
For the inlay piece, did you have you do and some kind of an offset? Or just simply cut the female piece from inside the line and cut the male piece from outside the line?
I can't answer for the poster, but I use the "inlay" app and set the offset when I do inlays.
You always need an offset when doing inlays.
Nice! Should be getting mine tomorrow. What is the pvc around your machine? Is that dust collection?
Wow
After several months of owning this machine, are you still happy with it ?
I've narrowed down my choices to this one or the Shapeoko.
Thanks, kindly !
Go for Shapeoko..see the bending when he pressed the material on the flatbed. Someone did try milling aluminum on it. Got a descent result though.
@@MCircuits What about a Millright Carve King? Those look pretty good also.
Do you know anything about that brand?
Would you recommend this with a dewalt router?
Life time investment
One tutorial , please.!!
would like to have the machine but not going to pay 999 for some that should only be 500
very good guy your content! could teach you how to design these molds to print on cnc .. thanks!

It should.

If you look in the app section in easel there is an app for doing inlays
Use VCARVEPRO.....you'll never go wrong with inlays.

The rails are unprotected... Not good
And that is what others tend to try making at least an enclosure for that rails. More like of a Shapeoko style.
$1000 is inexpensive?
Yes, it is, duh...

Router is included with the bobs. Dewalt or makita
@@Wiggysmooth23 what store?
For them. for 1,500 usd. you can get much more workarea for your piece. What he uses only makes 400 x 300 x 110mm
How can You call a thousand dollar CNC an in-expensive machine???
It's no where near that price even with the added cost of the dewalt router which can be had on sale for $100.
Not sure where you got that price from.
CNC ProverXL is 1400$ with a 250$ Dewalt router 🤭 not sure it is "inexpensive"
Okay it is far from a pro setup, but as far as a 3018 with 80W router 😆
You don't even know the use of a wing nut
Inexpensive? for most its very expensive
That double tape usage is really bothering me

What a bag of crap This machine is
no useable information very poor
Go to the Sainsmart website to know more of this 1000 usd with 400 x 300 x 110mm work area and tell us if it is worth it.
what a waste of wood... :(
Maybe trying to get sponsored for SAINSMART hahahaha
