They really are amazing. I was out for a walk with one of my friends the other month and we found an imprint of one in a cliff that had recently tumbled. We got pictures but my camera sucks and nobody could tell what they were out of
@@Paleofactus just as amazing as that I was out on the Navajo reservation near the famous landmark known as Shiprock and I found a rock on a trail that looks like it has small theropod footprints. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who's ever noticed, people ride horses and drive ATVs over it
Great video, I learned a lot. I've always found Ammonites fairly interesting as a very iconic prehistoric species, but I didn't know nearly as much as this, thanks for sharing!
🌟 Wow, this video was absolutely fascinating! 🌟 Thank you for sharing so many incredible facts about ammonites! 🐚✨ The history, the science, and the beauty of these ancient creatures are truly mind-blowing. 🙌 🧐Considering the incredible preservation of soft tissues in ammonite fossils, what do you think the chances are of discovering more detailed fossils that could reveal even more about their anatomy and lifestyle? 🤔 Thanks again for this awesome video! 📽👏
@@Paleofactus I personally study Ammonite for hobby, I got a pretty nice specimens from various country, even from my natal country. It is fascinating how much range ammonoids covers over the world
@@Paleofactus lyme regis is my dream, I live in South america so is kinda difficult to me, that and bc I have 17 yrs so maybe in a few years I can go. In other hand, in Chile (my country) are a few good place where find marine fossils so im planning go for a fossil hunting this saturday
Completely forgot to mention this in the video but yeah, that's really interesting. Thanks for bringing this up! I've read a couple sources that say the females were bigger to allow for egg production.
This channel deserves more attention
Thank you. So does your profile picture. That is a dignified gentleman!
I am not going to lie, the production quality is beyond good for such a young channel.
I can only hope the algorithm will help your channel grow now.
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you!

That's a shame. I'm currently planning a trip to dig for ammonite fossils. I can't imagine just finding one by accident lol

Ok question: what about ammonite sexual dimorphism? Because according to the Paleo-stream, female ammonites are 20 times bigger than the males.
Completely forgot to mention this in the video but yeah, that's really interesting. Thanks for bringing this up! I've read a couple sources that say the females were bigger to allow for egg production.
Makes sense. This does make me wonder if males are basically paedomorphic, stuck in their larval stage.
@@t-r-e-x452 that's an interesting idea. I don't know much about that topic. Nautili don't exhibit paedomorphosis but I guess it could be possible
Mmmmm.... Delicious. Too bad you can't get this at any seafood place.
meat eaters are weird
Could you imagine that, a jurassic park like breakthrough in bringing back these animals, then opening a restaurant to eat them? Would be awesome!
