Is it time for an all fender rig challenge? -Guitar, amp, pedals, and accessories. You could also do a bass rig, and if you include Gretsch because they’re owned by FMI you could do drums as well.
@jake I’m currently rocking a 1971 Bandmaster Reverb, and I’ve either owned or played most their amps. No pedals are as good as the tube-driven spring reverbs in Fender amps.
They you have to ruin or significantly cosmetically change the appearance of a petal by the application of Velcro that cannot be removed is incomprehensible for me. These things cost hundreds of dollars or more and you need to apply a permanent cosmetic change for most paddle boards. I spent a fortune on one that doesn’t require this.
I mean I get where you're coming from, but they're pedals my dude. You're gonna be stomping the shit out of them and scuffing them no matter what unless you're a stay at home guitarist
Still patiently waiting for the full pedal board build on one of these, preferably all high end pedals, on the largest board with dual PSU. Video Titled "Ultimate Pedal Board by Breaking the Bank", maybe even a collab with Dan and Mick! 🙌🙌
I would expect third-party power supplies to fit imperfectly, but it is stupid that fender's own supply has the exhaust fan partially occluded. Maybe Pete needed to nudge it fully left, or maybe the cutout needs to be 5mm wider and idiot-proof. For top marks, the cutout should clip neither the fan, the screw heads, nor the decals on the branded supply.
You can position it so the fan is not blocked (I have the medium one). What’s annoying is the power brick cable placement right in the middle of the top, they should have included an angled plug at least (for the fender brick), or put the power input/output on the side of the brick (so it’s all inside the board).
Board looks lovely, but I only ever use 3M Dual Lock to mount the pedals on it. It's a far stronger mounting that doesn't move at all under your feet like Velcro does.
spent $650 on the biggest Warwick rockboard made.even got the patch bay w/wireless. Got my pedals on zipped up the gig bag never even used it put it on reverb cheap. Dropped $200Nobody wants a big board about to drop another &100 even with free stuff they rather go spend money on the extras. I’ll just make one next time.
Just picked up my Medium board delivery from the post office and installed the LVL8 PSU. Looks great, very practical, lightweight and sturdy. Super happy with my purchase. Someone commented about the plastic clips for holding the cables underneath and I agree they can pop off easily or break but I think for weight reasons they're the most practical outside of zip ties.
I think those outlets are meant to power your tablet that alot of people use for PA mixer, monitor mix, lyrics, set lists, etc. Not for your phone, but I suppose if you don't use a tablet you could charge your phone. 🤷♂️
@@proof377, with today's digital mixers alot of player have tablets or phone on their mic stands for their monitor mix via wifi to the board. Different times my lad for sure!
Forget 'Gorilla Glue'... it's runny rubbish, yellowed and brittle after a few months. I go with 'Evo-Stick Serious Glue', every time. It's the best, for small and large jobs e.g. I glued the internal damper, that had fallen off, back into a 1963 Sonor D426 'King of Snares', and a decade later it's still holding firm. My two pence. ;)
Velcro direction: Most videos tell people to put the hook side on the pedal and loop (soft part) on the board. This is Backwards! If you have carpet in your music room every time you take a pedal off and set it down it sticks to the carpet. Unless you want to use your carpet as a pedal board put the soft loop side on the pedal and the hook on the board. Then you can set your pedals down on carpet while moving things around without them sticking to the carpet.
Aside from the board, isn’t it weird that there hasn’t been a pedal company yet to come up with some sort of thread hole and screw on the bottom of their pedals or just a notch with a hole to affix to a pedal board instead of having to use Velcro or cable ties? There must be a better solution.
Temple audio boards is exactly what you are describing. If you are thinking of building a temple board make sure to put some painters tape under the pedal before sticking the plate on. Without Goo Gone that stuff is almost impossible to get off your pedal. Also when you use square plugs sp400's and mogami wire you can solder your cables to length wich makes your board less messy. All in all I do like their boards but the plates are a bit expensive. Also they dont have any pedal raisers for a second row.
Most art supplies shops sell 'goo off' & 'goo gone' + similar products, it's for getting the residue left by gaffer tape etc off of artwork (canvas, card etc) not bought any in yrs. One jar lasts for ages. ps. I just got (2 wks ago) a Mooer 2 tier pedalboard, you undo a cpl of Allen screws & can tilt the row to your liking.
Ended up with the medium sized version. Love it and plan on grabbing the tweed case for it too. Has basically everything you need. Only areas for improvement: power plug management (everything is neat and tidy..and then you plug the fender power brick in and the cable juts out the front); metal clips instead of plastic for the back (going to break or fall off); and better rubber plug inserts that somehow stay on the board when not in use.
thank you, wow looks greate and more easy to handle compared to my Rockboard and Cioks power suply, nearly same size you did in video with the same QM8

I have a nice Temple Audio board that i put together and it looks nice. I gotta say though I'm willing to replace my power supply and board because of how clean this is holy cow.
I've been on the "list" for a marcus Deluxe board since about February, but at this point i think i would be better off buying a fender board, the integration with the power supply just looks unrivalled, and also the way you can much more easily route the power supply cables without having to buy a million cable tidy's etc
Rubbers included? How considerate of Fender. 😂 I think the USB outputs are not meant to charge your phone but are meant for accessories which are powered via USB like an audio interface. Also it's not probably not meant to be pronounced as "L" "V" "L" but as "level".
Nobody has mentioned this, but on the lvl12 you can easily convert the IEC out to a regular courtesy outlet. That IEC out isn’t just for daisy chaining another Engine Room, and I’ve confirmed this with Fender. You can buy a simple and cheap 1 to 1 or even a 1 to 2 IEC (male) to power plug(s) of your choice (female), and you can power all of those old pedals that have a 24v wall wart. Deluxe Memory Man, Q-Tron, etc… I do exactly this on my board and simply Velcro the wall wart underneath next to the Engine Room. No you shouldn’t power your guitar amp with that outlet, but you can definitely run some old pedals or a keyboard with it, or whatever else you may have that uses a wall wart or power cord. I think that IEC out is max 1.6A.
i guess i'm an old school guy i just bought a huge ATA case and cut a piece of 3/8" laminate to fit inside and screwed it down - mounted everything to the laminate with velcro and it's been my board for years - it has gone through many changes but still kicking - ruclips.net/video/tlCaLs2v7tU/видео.html

These look really nice, except the Small is still a bit too big. Pedalboard companies still haven't figured out that they need to make pedalboards that fit into standard airline underseat "personal item" flight totes, so if we could get a pedalboard that is no larger than about 390 mm x 290 mm (15.35" x 11.41", and even that is pushing it a bit), that would fit 8 full-size pedals (or a few more if you mix in some mini pedals), fit into a flight tote, and still leave a bit of room for a change of clothing and toiletries for a weekend gig. The Small being 18" x 12.8", there's no way it will fit in any bag that will fit under a standard airliner seat. In the US, the FAA provides for musicians to be able to fly with standard sized instruments as cabin baggage, but that will count as your one allowable piece of cabin baggage, leaving you with only a "personal item", if you want to travel to a fly gig without checking any baggage. I need a change of clothing, toiletries, iPad/iPhone/chargers, in-flight snack, and my pedalboard and a good pair of closed-back headphones (for hotel practice/songwriting) to fit in that bag. Instrument leads can go in my instrument case.
