Lee Finds a Great Tone is THE BEST couple minutes of music I've ever heard from this channel. Snip that out and plaster it all over the interwebs and boom! You hit 850K subs and somebody wins a pedal.
It seemed as though Pete could tell that Lee was feeling it and just gave him the backdrop to soar! Great musicianship from both! Gave me chills! So happy for you Captain and so jealous of you Pete!
It warms my heart seeing Lee shred on that final tone. You can tell he was really happy with the result, so he was just banging it out effortlessly. Glorious!
You definitely should make a “god help us all” hoodie or something 😂 Edit: Lee kills it after the 30:35 mark! Release that bit as a youtube short. I rewound the video three times.
Did they ever really leave? I feel like I still see a lot more actual pedal boards and amps over multi-effects/modellers, though it’s becoming less dominant for sure.
Wow! Can we just take a minute to appreciate how far the Captain’s lead has come. Maybe it’s the Mayer influence but just wow man. That solo just after the half hour mark is by far and away the best lead I’ve heard from the Cap and some of the best ever on the channel. Kudos to Pete for capturing the chordal vibe of the lead guitar and making the whole thing soar. Just sublime!
Lee lays down the most epic playing the channel has even seen, then says "was that good? I dunno." Lee Anderton is MY guitar hero. He has gone from adequate to brilliant, and I hope to do the same. 🙂
@@baltipszlr3398 no doubt and I’m fairly sure I’ve said something similar in the comments of a vid a couple of years ago, but I’ve been watching Andertons vid for what must be 10 years or so now and I’ve seen Lee go from watching other guitarists in awe, to mastering a few licks, to becoming a competent player through to today which absolutely blew me away. Just watch Pete’s face he is seriously impressed man.
It wasn't just the tone, it was the playing, too. Way to go, Lee. That's a really good sounding rig. Pete, too. Absolutely smashing! Ripping, old boy! Just wizard!
Wow that finding a great tone solo section was a perfect example of when everything lines up right, you get in the groove, self doubt goes out the window and it's just you and the guitar making beautiful noises! Incredible! :)
Bloody hell Lee!! This is why we spend what we do on gear - its the search for that inspiration that brings something out we didnt even know we had. Thats the best bit of music/jamming ive ever heard on this channel!
Have to add that it was dead obvious that Lee found something and his playing sounded great and even Pete caught it… like others here have mentioned. Well done Captain.
Lee's solo reminded me of "Great White" sort of, which used to remind me of "The Scorpions"- which is a huge compliment to all involved, well done Lee. That's what ppl mean when they say a pedal inspired them- Lee just gave everyone a perfect example of it. I love it when that happens- granted, usually it's just something I play a few times and it sounds cool, but you store the concept in your back pocket, and you can refer back to it when playing other things. If I were Lee I would find out what chords Pete was using there because it was the combination of the two that worked so well. Pete backward engineered those licks in seconds and spat out a perfect chord progression for what Lee was doing- that's just as impressive- if not more so, to me.
The "Lee Finds a Great Tone" is probably my favorite time of hearing him play. It almost had a Santana from the movie "Desperado" vibe to it. Great job, Captain!
That sounded awesome. When you two played together it put me into another place. That was one of the best that I have heard in a very long time. It makes me want to go out and get a pedal board set up just like that. Congratulations to you both. Many thanks from Ohio.
My newest Pedalboard build is an extended Holeyboards Pedalboard. Using 2 of the Base Modules, 1 Expansion Module and 1 Foot Pedal Module. The entire length is now 35" X 14" deep X 7" at the highest point with the pedals attached. 14 pedals, including a huge TC Electronic Flashback Triple Delay (it takes up about 3 spaces!). Hey Lee, your Lead in that Jam was magnificent! 👏🏻
This is what it's about the Captain off on one with massive sounds, inspiration from pieces of 'stuff' that one gets occasionally, makes all the tinkering worth while. He was well away almost forgot he was making a video. Great stuff!
The interaction between the wah and the fjord is fantastic. Not even for the intended purpose - just the unpredictable frequencies and musical octave surprises the wah pulls out of the fjord. Loved Pete’s board generally and specifically the deco drive into the flint trem - crazily amp like. Obv all the stacking flexibility is 👌🏼.
No cork sniffing, No extended pinky fingers, and No Snobbery; just flat out F*cking Fun! Great to see y'all just enjoying yourselves. Great tones gents.
Well I'm building a new board ,Biggest board I ever built .Ordered a Schmidt Array ,got a Musicomlabs switcher bought half of the pedals so should be done bye 2024 lol .Was all set to go with the Slotva ,then Oh Captain my Captain ! Mr. Anderton shows up with his cloud .I thought I was done going down that hole .Had it narrowed down to OBNE vs Walrus .But it seems the pedal gods will not be content until I break down and finally get a Strymon .Aaaaah! Also imho this has to be his finest playing I've ever heard ,BRAVO
I love Strymon Flint! Cool thing about the tremolo side is that you can use it also as a volume boost. Just turn speed and rate down and there you go. I use this feature a lot. And when it is the last one on the chain, it really juices the whole setup nicely. Tasty playing mr. Lee !!
the Fender board is so nice. its one piece of aluminum bent to form the front and back, with the sides attached with sunken screws from the top. just a beautifully designed piece of gear all around. the Friedman looks like 6 pieces of aluminum acrewed together that over time, i worry about it becoming an old, squeeky bedframe. fine for a studio, but i don't think that's something i would gig with. plus, could they have made their logo any bigger?? lol
I'm just getting back into playing around with the guitar after something like a 30+ year break and I'm super stoked that the Cloudburst has been introduced to the heap. As soon as I heard it I thought 💭🤔 I can use this with praise & worship music. I've got to get one. I've got a ton of excellent gear that I'm digging out that for what I'm going to be doing now days I honestly don't need but little more and that Cloudburst IS something I Have To Have 🥰. I share the same kind of deep rapturous elevated feeling's of joy with this little pedal as Lee and I'm sure an by now, an enormous group of player's are experiencing. I'm sure Strymon is in full ramped up mode or getting there, [(new hires) jobs jobs jobs] because I'm sure they know this pedal is causing an avalanche of desire. The engineering is absolutely awesome! I've got to have it! Thanks for the fantastic video's (advertisement 😉😉) that y'all put out! Excellent reviews!👍
Good on you, Cap! Fuzz & wah are staples like Guinness & shepherd’s pie. Maybe try fuzz 1st, then into wah? I think fuzz likes to feel your pickups. Also, octave fuzz tracks better 12th fret and above with the neck pup. Rock on ! 🤘🏻😉
Ok..totally inspired by that Am jam. Paused the video.went straight in the office and started stacking fuzz and boost with my cloudburst .with the same chord progression on the looper and soloing over it....dreamy..thanks guys❤️ I almost had buyers remorse on The cloudburst here for a couple days.I bought it at 1AM after watching your video.the day it came out. It only does a couple things really..but oh does it do them so damn well.
OMG. The Captain smashes it out the park. He seemed to have a transcendental moment of inspiration from the new board. Pete’s reaction says it all 🎸🤘🏻
Sounded like some Lethal Weapon music
Captain solo was just bonkers! Goosebumbs, really amazing tone 🤩 He has improved so much over the years 👌
You are correct ! Lee just gets better every time I hear him play. He needs a band !
It was very “Scorpions-ish”
Soo good Captain. Please more of that
Lee Finds a Great Tone is THE BEST couple minutes of music I've ever heard from this channel. Snip that out and plaster it all over the interwebs and boom! You hit 850K subs and somebody wins a pedal.
lol agreed, I was smiling the whole time just thinking "this is one of those moments" haha
So totally agree!
Yep - that ""interesting combination" of new pedals - and with Pete coming in to provide context. : listen from 30:30. Its brilliant.
Reminds me of Maggot Brain by P Funk... incredible 🎉
32:00 Pete looking like a proud father! 🥰
30:24 LEE!!! 👏👏🎸🔥 credit to Pete as well, for the perfectly fitting rhythm section... this is a contender for "Anderton's best moments of '23"
It seemed as though Pete could tell that Lee was feeling it and just gave him the backdrop to soar! Great musicianship from both! Gave me chills! So happy for you Captain and so jealous of you Pete!
Lee blew the roof off with his solo! Wow
Didn't that feel kinda gilmour-ish? Except for the wah, that felt like a bit of floyd in there.
@@s0da.-. lots of feel, so yah!
It warms my heart seeing Lee shred on that final tone. You can tell he was really happy with the result, so he was just banging it out effortlessly. Glorious!
Love how Lee just absolutely hits his final form at the end and ascends to the hall of tone gods. Absolutely killer stuff.
You definitely should make a “god help us all” hoodie or something 😂
Edit: Lee kills it after the 30:35 mark! Release that bit as a youtube short. I rewound the video three times.
lol Me too! Something was working through him for sure. Fantastic !! Make it cry Lee. Make it cry.
yeah that was cool !!!
Absolutely awesome. Thanks for the comment. Now I can just tap the time stamp over and over again.
I’m so glad to see classic pedalboards making a revival.
You're welcome
Did they ever really leave? I feel like I still see a lot more actual pedal boards and amps over multi-effects/modellers, though it’s becoming less dominant for sure.

The day is always better with an Andertons RUclips video featuring The Captain and Pete!
Damn Captain, what a solo! That tone is to die for.
Pete is the absolute best guy you've had on the channel for gear demos, this is the golden era of Andertons RUclips
It absolutely warmed my heart hearing the Captain rip it at the end. That was amazing!!! 🫡
Dear lord! I do believe that’s the best playing Lee has done so far at the end of his board demo!!!❤️🤘
Lee's solo is the best I have ever heard him play. And that tone. Sublime.
31:24 - whoooooooohhh, Lee that’s the stuff. Whatever you have there, guitar, pedals, amp, write it down because it’s magic. Great video chaps 🎉
Wow that finding a great tone solo section was a perfect example of when everything lines up right, you get in the groove, self doubt goes out the window and it's just you and the guitar making beautiful noises! Incredible! :)
Lee’s solo sounds like Robin Finck’s part on This I Love. Absolutely gorgeous tone and playing.
Also Lethal Weapon
This is maybe my 5th time watching this. You can't pay for this sort of entertainment. I love hearing the wise cracks and knee cracks. Just awesome.
The pure unmitigated JOY of tone discovery! Thank you, guys, for sharing!
@30:10 It's like Magget Brain! instantly EPIC. Best duo/demo of 2023 already!
Wow Lee, that was incredible, awesome rythm playing by Pete as well😍🔥
Lee's playing is great again, straight into the feel of the Maggot Brain solo. Nice.
I was looking for this comment
thats what the sound is, i couldnt place it

The best tone from Lee, imho! Wooooow! So inspired and inspirating, what a huge improvement!

The Captain was killing it, sounded so dam good!! Great job Pete for setting that slow jam up

Wtf... Lee just went full 80' love power ballad here! I love it! What a joy to see you guys playin with those pedals. ❤️❤️❤️
That jam at 30min in was HUGE! Wonderful tones!
Proof of what a good tone can do for inspiration. Lee threw it out of the park with that final solo!
Mastodon has never sounded so good on a tele before. Goodness. I love Pete
That captain solo towards the end. Absolute masterpiece. I felt the darkness
Totally awesome Lee.That tone at the end would fit in with Pink Floyd. Great Fun
In this clip, you can enjoy Lee's BEST SOLO!!! of all time! Welcome!! Such a great solo!
Lee finds a great tone - I'd an understatement! Amazing tone and amazing playing that sounded really emotive! Brilliant!!!
Congratulations, Lee, on your new tone. 🥳
Captain went beast mode at the end

Great tones from both new boards! Loved the lead sound Lee paired with the wah pedal.
Dang, Pete's board is an all-star lineup of envy. 🤤
That Captian solo tone with the 3 pedals has a David Gilmour meets Eric Clapton vibe. That sounded awesome! ❤
Happy weekend to all. Music will save the World! Are you ready heroes?
Love seeing the captain get so excited with his tone and his new toy the Wah.😃
Very cool show guys!
What a solo Capt 😳
Thanks
I'm so proud of Lee for some reason all of a sudden.
We love you Lee, that was amazing!
I would watch you guys build a board every week. Maybe you can make a series or something, “pedal board by genre”
Yup. I watch these when I get home from work and it's like hanging out with my buds. I could watch then do a pedalboard build every week.
Amazing to see how Lee's guitar playing has changed the last two years!
Lee has gotten so good over the last few years
Wow. That solo hit me in feels, man. Sometimes, inspiration seems to settle on you, and if you're lucky enough to be recording, well, what a blessing.
The interaction between the wah and the fjord is fantastic. Not even for the intended purpose - just the unpredictable frequencies and musical octave surprises the wah pulls out of the fjord.

Some of the captain’s best playing here. Great stuff.

Lee is on fire at the end! \m/
Lee! That solo was epic mate. Well done boys!
Go Lee! The Jimi Anderton tone sounds fab. Also this vid makes me feel less awkward about how many drive pedals are on my board. 😅
Great playing Lee. Totally in the Zone. Sounded epic on the Strymon
That esp Lee's board, made me feel alive 💛
Oooooo ODIN! Nice. And Pete, I’m coming for that Deco!
Let's talk ✅✅ I have something for you..
Chapeau Mr. Anderton, Sir! 30:30 - 32:30 Two minutes of finest lead guitar!
You guys sound great in that little jam towards the end of the video!
Seriously, try the Cloud Burst with the Boss Slicer or Synth pedal. It's instant Blade Runner.
Let's talk ✅✅ I have something for you....
The Cap's board is killer! Sounds great. Well done sir...
Fecn loved this. Two boys, toys and inspiration. This is why I buy pedals and more pedals and even more pedals. ✊🤟🏼😁

Lee found himself a glorious tone. Liking the boost into fuzz, awesome distortion.
The octave fuzz sounds great Pete. You leave him alone.
Such a fun video to watch. Love Lee and Pete!

Lee your solo @30:00 was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
What a glorious life in that we can watch other guitarists put their pedal boards together 😂
31:00 Woah! Lee, this is the most I’ve ever enjoyed your playing (and it’s always decent) BUT that was mega man!!! 🎸👌🏻
Wow Lee, that came out of nowhere 👏 very inspiring!
yessss, day just got a whole lot better. this is quality content right here folks
Perfection at that 30 minute mark when you two jammed.
Epic solo from the Captain!
That solo near the end was fire. Very nice.
Totally awesome solo, Lee ❤

Pete’s board is something I would build. But Captain’s board is something I’d wanna sound like. Especially that ending with fuzz and reverb.
