Because of your videos, I was able to have a very smooth labor!!!! Aparently I was in labor and I didn't know Because I didn't take my contractions seriously. Went to the hospital with 8cm dialated. I was riding with my contractions the entire time and controlling my breathing! I took my time! And I didn't let doctors intimidate me. I trusted my body. My daughter is 5 months now, and super healthy! Thank you!!!
I gave birth 18th June labour started 5am contractions were 2 minutes apart from the get go. Focused on my breathing and my husband placed hot water bottle on my lower back which helped. The pain was bearable even though the contraction were 2 minute apart lasting 40-50 seconds. I didn’t make one noise however wanted everyone around me to be quiete so I can focus on my breathing. Came to hospital 7.15am got checked and was 8cm dilated. The nurse kept mentioning how in control I was. I gave birth in birth centre which is midwife led all about natural labour unassisted labour. I went straight into the water pool recorded a message to my two little boys at home. Gave birth 7.55am. The only time I felt pain is when pushing but focused on breathing and followed my body. Breathed when I felt the ring of fire. All my energy focused on pushing to bring the baby out. Honestly watching Bridget videos helped million times. My Husband also watched every birthing video with me so it helped he was also prepared and in tune with me. I had a quick labour that was amazingly beautiful even though I was so anxious to give with during a pandemic. It also helped writing my detailed birth plan and my midwife was amazing she respected and fulfilled everything I mentioned on my birth plan. I would recommend communicating ahead of time with your midwife.
Your story is great :) but I think it's good to bare in mind that not every labour is only three hours! Even a good and in control experience can last much much longer.
Thanks Bridget. My wife just begun labor this morning. Going through contractions here at home. I'm so happy too, cuz we're a week overdue and they were trying to induce us! I thank God we didn't have to and I thank God for all your videos as they have been very helpful. Keep it up.
I focused a lot on keeping my hands open with palms up, my forehead relaxed, and jaw not clenched. That helped a lot. Mantras helped and focusing on now and not allowing myself to look ahead.
In my first birth my midwife did this for me as I was in the pushing phase & my baby was crowning. The eye contact and holding my hands and firm gentle words of encouragement really did amazing work at grounding me and regaining control of myself, I was so in love with her after lol
Your videos have been so helpful! I was able to have such a peaceful and empowering birth experience. Because of the knowledge I learned from your videos I had confidence in my body, the techniques to manage the intense sensations, and absolutely NO FEAR. I felt so in control of my birth and it couldn't have gone better! Please keep making this amazing content!
I think panicking and losing control is my concern right now. I’m not scared of labor and delivery as I know it’s a natural sort of life and I’m equipped for it, but having never done it before there’s a chance the lack of control will flip me out and I’ll tense up and prolong labor.
I panicked too, 1st time Mom; my birth was 33 min long. Thankfully we were at the hospital already. It started with 2 strong contractions (Nurse came in) and then I had to push - throughout the night I didn't have a single contraction, my blood pressure was just very low. Panicked because my birth was so different than what I expected - thankful though that I didn't have to labor for hours and hours 🙏 The Nurse did exactly what you explained and helped me to 'come back'.
Hi Serena, how are you doing? I was wondering how many weeks pregnant you are? Feeling like you are not in control during childbirth is most often linked to a lack of knowledge and feeling like you are at the mercy of your care providers and what they suggest. You are watching these videos and educating yourself about the birth process which is one of the best things you can do. Birth is and can be unpredictable but the more knowledgeable you are about your body and how your mind can influence how you feel and experience birth, you are much more likely to go with the flow of your birth and deal with everything with calm and confidence. Love, Anja xxxxxxx
With my first baby I panicked because I had severe back labor. And then I never had a break between contractions. It was like contract and then the contraction went half way down, but never all the way down. Needless to say I was super tense and labor stalled. It didn't pick back up until I got the epidural. Then, life was great.
@@nicoleweigel1758 same with me. but the epidural didn’t help me at all. i still felt like a train had ran me over and was crushing my body. this time around i’m better prepared for this! i feel confident and comfortable
Her videos helped me soo much already. Have had such anxiety attacks this pregnancy so far from PTSD from my last labor experience with my second child. I cant wait to try her tips once labor hits, already had been helping with the panic attacks. And THANKS for bring free! Like we don't have enough to worry about over what birthing package we should or should sink our money into.
How did it go for you mama? I had a really traumatic labor and birth story too, so looking for real life inspiration of someone who had an ok birth after a traumatic one. ♥️🙏🏽♥️
Just had a baby boy through VBAC and all the while I was labouring I used your calming hypnobirthing playlist. And had been watching your videos for the past few days.I did lose control towards the end but thankfully the doctors were pro VBAC and kept encouraging me that i'm almost there. Thank you so much. You are Godsend.
Ana here! Your affirmations brought me to tears. Maybe because I’m on my period right now, haha, but I hope my husband will be able to support me like this whenever it’s my time to give birth.
You are wise and incredible. You have helped me transform my mentality into a calmer, peaceful, beautiful headspace as I’m moving closer to my first pregnancy’s delivery date. I bought your class because your channel has resonated with me so strongly. I am excited to start it and learn more from you! Wanted to say thank you and you are deeply appreciated by my partner and I. Much love
Currently 31 weeks ftm. I'm wanting to do a natural water birth in the hospital. After watching this I think my husband would be the complete opposite of supportive and stress me out more. He's definitely not the sentimental, emotional type. Now I'm considering telling him to stay home and just going through it myself.
Hi Erykah, how are you doing? i just read your comment about your husband. I think that it would be good to communicate how important his role is during childbirth. Tell him that you don't want him to be a passive bystander and that you want him to play a hands on role. It is his baby too after all! Whilst it is okay to give birth on your own, it is great to have someone who knows you well by your side. You deserve to access great support when you are labour! If you don't think your husband is up to the job, could you ask a friend or family member to be there with you instead? xxxx
Thank you so much for making these videos; especially this one. I am AuDHD & about to give birth for the first time. This year has been lots of rapid, dramatic changes & I'm really scared & can panic fairly easily, but your vids are helping so much as I prepare. Your energy is very positive, encouraging & calming & reminds me of my time in DBT, which is when my stress management skills were at their peak. Watching this felt a lot like a skills group exercise & it helped a lot. Thank you again. ❤
I'm 40+0 weeks today and yesterday I had a panic attack during Braxton Hicks 😢 I don't even know why, I just felt so overwhelmed because it was just after midnight and it was her due date! For now no signs of labor, but my husband is so sweet and helpful and he helped me relax. ❤ I'm feeling much better now.
@@a.leticia4268 Hi! The next day at 40+1 I had a home labor without any medication 🩷 I was so confident I decided to stay at home and not go to the hospital, even though hospital was my plan A. I was thinking about home labor in the last weeks of my pregnancy and I'm happy I did it. It was not perfect because baby was born with her hand to her face and I have 1st degree tear, I also lost a lot of blood but I declined oxytocine. On the next day I was feeling amazing and I even showered myself and my hair which apparently is not common. I'm recovering great and everyone was shocked. My full labor was about 9 hours, even the midwives were in shock 😂 Fully dilated from 7 to 10 cms in 1,5 hours! I think that breathing, changing positions, Raspberry leaf tea and dates helped a lot with this, every day I was also walking around 3-4 kilometers. My baby is 3 weeks now and she is amazing 💖
@@christinasuzannemana970 Full story copied from my other comment: Hi Bridget, I can't thank you enough for all your videos. You and Pregnancy and Postpartum TV really helped me during my pregnancy and I'm recommending your channels to everyone. I gave birth to our beautiful daughter 5 days ago ❤ My labor was natural, at home (I live in the Netherlands), but I planned to go to the hospital. At the end I felt so confident I decided to stay at home. Things were progressing very fast, maybe because of the dates and raspberry leaf tea, maybe because of the exercises. I was also doing your breathing exercises, but at some point when we were alone with my husband I forgot about it and it was really hard for me to concentrate, my husband was helping very much but I think this part could be easier if I breathed better. My midwife went to check up another delivery when I was 7 cms, she thought I will be longer in labor but after not even 2 full hours since she left I started pushing phase with another midwife that we had to call, because our first one was stuck in the another delivery. This part was very hard, super painful and very stressful, next time I think it will go better. Maybe we will try the birthing pool. I'm very satisfied with how it went, I have only 1 degree tear because she was born with the hand close to her face, but overall no medication. They wanted to give me oxitocine because I was bleeding, but we managed without it. Early labor started at midnight, but they count it from 5:30 when my water broke so I was in labor for about 9 hours in total. I think it's good for a first timer! Overall an amazing experience ❤
I am 39 weeks today.. I have watched nearly all your videos and you have given me so much confidence! I’m going to be attempting a vbac and all your advice has been so helpful!
I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and I've been watching one of your videos almost everyday. There are a few, like this one, which I plan to watch with my husband to prepare us better for the birth. ♥️ I was very zen about the whole thing but after hearing a few stories of women with birth canals to small for their. baby, I must admit that I started to worry a little bit since I'm very petite and will be delivering at a birthing center. Hoping for a safe delivery and a healthy little baby! ✨
you got this. im petite (154cm and pretty lean) and had my first baby using hypnobirthing last year and it was amazing despite being in labour for 3 days surges going every 2-5minutes. its do-able! stay positive. regarding the hip being too small, that is complete fear mongering and its so rare, like i believe the woman would have some form of bone deficiency where it breaks easily where even that would be rare for her to not birth her baby naturally. its more to do with babies position and helping them stay head down. but theres spinning babies and the miles circuit you should do whenever possible (esp during labour) to help x
@@serena3194 thanks for your kind words! 🥰 I was planning on doing hypnobirthing, just waiting for the book to arrive. Hopefully it helps. And hopefully it goes quicker than 3 days hehe! Congrats on your baby x
Hi honey, congratulations on your pregnancy. I just read your comment about being petite and worrying about your birth canal size. I recommend a great mantra that you can write out and stick up in your home "My baby is the perfect size for my body" . Being petite doesn't mean that your birth will be any different to someone who is very tall or has wide hips. Your birth canal is designed to stretch. If you focus on keeping your upper body relaxed in labour (no frowning, no jaw clenching and relaxing your shoulders) that will ensure that your lower body (your pelvis, hips and birth canal) open and stretch with ease. Are you French? How far is the birthing center from your home? xxxx
being a birth partner is about being a "guardian of oxytocin": maintaining dark (if in hospital, use eye mask), quietness, less thought/speech from mama, relaxation techniques like massage and all these that Bridget says, and guarding against "predators" like dastardly doctors who just come to stress and any imposing family members... my two cents.
Any suggestions on what to do if partner is dismissive and has social cue disorders? I cannot afford a doula and got waitlist for every midwife in the city.
@@amyd1957 hey Im sorry to hear that you’re worried about that, and that you’re not being supported fully. I think you can only do your best with communication, and then focus yourself on yourself and your baby. That said here are some suggestions to be a guardian of the oxytocin. There are always things you can do in a hospital setting, it helps to practice them. I worked with a midwife in rural Peru, and luckily managed my pregnancy to be lower risk so I could have a home birth. It scared me to go to a hospital. But she prepared us for what to do in a hospital. Bring lots of warm things, bring your eye mask, focus less on talking, let your animal body take over: she knows how to birth… especially practice toned singing. Low OOOs and UUUs open your cervix, and help channel pain. Practice that singing/screaming. No one gives a fuck about how you sound so just know that. But you gotta practice. Don’t get in your head. Anxiety is the enemy of oxytocin. let your birth team know your birth plan, if you have one, try to keep in simple so it’s easy for you to communicate and people to remember. You can write it down near your bed. Do as much of the labour as possible at home. Don’t go to the hospital as soon as you start (unless you have a history of fast births). The reason is when you go to the hospital, sometimes it’s so uncomfortable that it generates worry and anxiety, and can stall labour … causing more interventions. Learn about the best time to go to the hospital or your birth place. and more than anything try to set yourself up for success before baby comes. Eat well (no carbs! Just protein and veg, okay? Bigger babies are more traumatic to birth!). Get some foods stocked in the fridge and freezer for after. Try to think of ways to care for any tearing or caesarean wounds before hand, so you’re prepared for that and not in survival mode trying to cook or care for your hurting body. Get friends to come over to brush your hair and not talk. Don’t let anyone into your house that stresses you out, or worries you, or tries to disempower you. You know who these people are. Say no visitors for at least 3 weeks for these kind of people. TAKE OFF AS MUCH TIME FROM DUTIES AND JOBS AS POSSIBLE. This goes for daddy too. Find a comfy bed position and pillows so you can be comfy when you nurse or feed. And just gently keep talking to your partner. Believe in him, tell him you believe in him, tell him he will be a wonderful father. BELIEVE THIS. You’re not a dude, so you can’t control him to be a father. If you chose this man, you chose him for a reason … so believe in him. Let him shine. And let him know how to support you, without fights. Let him know you’re excited to be the mother of his child, and you love when he protects you, when he cherishes you, when he gives you caresses. Tell him it will help for everything. Love yourself, believe in yourself, accompany your baby. He knows how to birth himself! Seriously, he knows how to be born. Trust him/her too! You don’t have to be in control. Your brain isn’t what births. Your heart and your uterus know the way. You can do this mama, you are from a long line of women who have birthed. You were made for this. Trust.
@@amyd1957 I would try to set up my own relaxation routine. Like, make up your own cues: for example everytime you see your hands -> consciously relax, unclench your jaw, breathe deeply. Exercise this at home, so your brain learns to relax almost automatically every time it sees your hands (or any other "cue" that makes sense to you - just something, that reminds you. Maybe you could download a tabata/HIIT timer app for your phone, and set the time to every 2-4 mins to remind you it's time to consciously relax again. It might be useful to have several different cues, and establish them in your everyday life before birth, so you will recognize them and know what to do). I would also try/establish medidation techniques, like counting breaths, breathing into different parts of your body, "body scanning"... There's a lot of helpful videos on RUclips - Bridget made plenty of videos explaining relaxation techniques, breathing techniques and more. Find out what helps you feel calmer and try it several times at home before going into labor! And if your partner annoys you, find ways to ignore him... Or explain to him (repeatedly!) how exactly he can help you. He might be glad to be given direction! After all, he has no idea what's going on in your body and mind... I wish you all the best! Trust yourself and your baby - everybody else is less important
@@jessicacorrea9020 honestly my second time was so much easier! My doula helped me alot with breathing and moving around more. I wasn't on the bed until I was about to push. He was a little guy, 5lbs 4oz due to IUGR so only 5 pushes and he was out. I also didn't have the epidural until 30min before I started pushing. I wish I didn't get it cause I didn't want to be on my back to push
Yey my name is Anna, thank you for using that in example! Haha. My original due date was yesterday and got pushed to July 17 but I’m really hoping I can naturally have the baby and avoid induction!
I just wanted to thank you. I just had my baby. Friday at 1:53 am. I went all natural until my labor just stopped at 9 cm and a half. At 4 pm. And next thing u know it was midnight and iwas still the same. No progress. I.m am having a hard time letting go. At the fact that I got the epidural at the end. Idk if I made the right call. I cried after they put it in. Laying there. Just feeling like iwas right there.at the finish line. I.m crying as I type this. But truly thank u briget. For the tips. They helps so much. Iknow I could have done it. Iwas just to exhausted I felt like iwas going to pass out. I was in labor for 2 nights without sleep. 😪
I was just about to watch one of her other videos and she says “let’s say the mamas name is Anna.... hey Anna look into my eyes breathe etc” lol and my name is Anna!! I was like you’re talking directly to me! Lol
My water broke a few hours ago at 10:30pm! I just turned 36 weeks today, she’s early! Needless to say, I’m definitely panicking 🤣 Thank you for the video Bridget! I’m in the suite now, feeling every contraction while my husband is asleep on the couch. Lucky! 😆 goodnight from SF! ♥️
@@karaniqueskorner you can do it Mama! 😍 My baby was considered to be a late preterm baby for being born at 36 weeks, but I’m happy to report that she is thriving today. I followed Bridget’s exercises, using a birth ball (she has two videos uploaded). I did it for a week, twice a day and I noticed I was carrying “ lower”.. I wonder if those exercises really did help to induce my labor 😄 All the very best to you and your sweet baby!! ♥️
Thank you so much for these videos. I would love to share my positive home birth experience. I just gave birth on wed sept 23 @ 3:30 am standing over my toilet lol the labor was as peaceful as can be and i delivered super fast! My midwife barely made it lolol
Please find a way to have subtitles in Spanish or videos dubbed in Spanish!! You make great content that is so lacking and needed in Spanish, it would really help my clients here in the North Bay Area
I cannot recommend enough hipnobirthing. Practice your breathing techniques with partner and partner to use positive affirmation to keep you focused and less panicked. Also practice different birthing positions with your partner. The more prepared you are the better and easier labour
I'm so scared 😥. I had my two previous children naturally, but it traumatized me, bc there was nothing calm about me either time I gave birth. Plus, all the breathing tips went out the window. I feel anxious just thing about it, and I'm not due until summer 2023.
I watched many videos of her and trying all techniques but unfortunately I had to have a C section after 12 hours of labour. I was not dilated more than 4cms. Plus it was an induced labour.
How I wished I had seen this video before. I just gave birth on Tuesday and after 30 hours of induction when I got to 8 cm I definitely lost control. I was screaming out of control and I screamed and panicked again while pushing.
I have been having a hard time finding unmedicated labor resources that will be helpful to me I have a history of precipitous labor (from dilated to 6 and irregular to baby in 1 hr 15 mins). This led to not receiving the epidural as planned. This time, I don't want the epidural. I liked being able to stand and move after labor too much But, all of these tips revolve around average 10 hr+ labors. Contractions that come in waves. Things that I didn't experience and most likely won't experience this time I need tips to take charge when the staff are losing their cool. How to breathe through contractions that are continuous, not coming in waves. Tips for partner to effectively intercede if they break my waters without my knowledge or consent again during rapid contractions How to deal with the fetal ejection reflex. How to cope with the pain of placental delivery as the adrenaline and it's pain relieving effects are gone and the shakes and blood pressure drop come on Lots and lots of resources for long prodromal labors, and for long labors in general. But not finding much to help those of us with precipitous birth histories. Yesterday morning, around 7am (aug 30th) I walked a peaceful 3 miles at 40wks and 2 days....I just gave birth at 2:22 am this morning.(aug 31) Ladies do not fear the contractions. It’s pain with a purpose. It’s a marathon not a race. (I kept telling myself those lines) I was in the moment this tome (3rd birth, 2nd home birth) I rubbed my belly during contractions. I felt the uterus , I imagined it turning my baby. I was fully 10cm faster then I could have imagined. I start having contractions at 7:37pm, by 10:30 pm my water broke, she checked me at 1 am and I just waited to feel the urge to push. She scared me (not on purpose she was checking the heart beat and felt he switched) by saying my baby was breeched and I tell you not, I though about going to the hospital but I pushed thru and kept saying I can’t wait to meet you. Then I felt like I had to poop. She tricked me and said sit on the toilet when I did that urge to push came so strong. I got up and in three pushes he was out, head first. You can do it. I didn’t have a man by my side. I had my mom for 3 hours along with my midwife when she arrived. I watched this channel and Sarah L on RUclips as well - they really helped with the breathing techniques. Thank you guys for reading my essay. Oh yeah the after birth sucks, from birthing the placenta to the contracting and shrinking of the uterus. Ugh the worst. I didn’t tear by the way. Ok ttyl
I gave birth 5 days ago. It was awful. I was in labor for 4 days, the hospital staff wouldn’t let my husband in, they wouldn’t let me get out of bed, i panicked, everything went wrong and now im scarred for life by the experience. I wish i could find a way to help me through my next experiences since this was my first and I honestly dont know how i’ll ever be able to go through this again
I'm so sorry your had a traumatic birth experience, but it doesn't have to be your only one. And it doesn't have to define you. Time will help heal you from it, if you use it wisely. Talk with someone you trust, that will listen and give a shoulder to lean on about your experience. Become as educated as possible for your next birth and find a support team you feel comfortable with (Doulas, Midwives, etc.). Voice your concerns to yourself and your trusted team. Know that although your first experience will always remain with you, it won't determine how you are as a mother or how your next birth will go. Know that there are many more women just like you and we stand with you, you are not alone. Take it one day at a time, soaking in each moment with your new little one. You're stronger than you could ever think. Love from another traumatic birth Mama 💛
Thats awful of that place! I'm so sorry that happened but I guarantee you're next birth will be way better now that you know exactly what you want and there won't be a nonsense reason to keep your Husband away when you needed him most. I suggest looking way more into natural birthing methods and ideas and also I'm so jealous you have your beautiful baby in your arms. My wifes currently laboring as I type (Early prelabor at home) and we're ready to take the journey you've begun. I pray to God you feel better with your baby now, and that you find the courage for your next. God Bless you
Hi Esraa, I am so sorry to hear this . I can take a while to heal from birth if you feel like it was a scary experience. I think that you may benefit from birth trauma recovery if you feel that your birth was traumatic. If you google it, you should be able to find someone in your local area to help you. Please take care of yourself and make sure that you communicate your needs to your husband and your doctor. You shouldn't have to deal with this alone and when you become a mother, support is the most important thing. You deserve to feel positive and happy as you enter motherhood. I am thinking of you and sending lots of love, Anja xxxx
Great videos, really helping me with my confidence with my first pregnancy. You mentioned a relaxation techniques list to print but I can not find where that is, can someone help direct me to the right place? Please and thank you
Hi honey, maybe I can help. I am Anja! There are so many relaxation technique that you can use in labour. 1. Water (bath, shower or birth pool) can really help to soothe you and help manage labour pain. You could also use a hot water bottle. Place one on your lower back and one at the top of your legs to help you relax during contractions. 2. Breathing. Slow deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. 3. Essential oils. Diffusing lavender, wild orange or roman chamomile can be very relaxing in labour. 4. Massage and gentle touch- getting your partner to stroke you and ease any achiness with some lower back massage can be so great! 5. Listening to relaxation audios for birth and having them on in the background while you are in labour can help keep your mind calm and relaxed. A relaxed mind=a relaxed body xxxxx
You can do it!! I gave birth without a partner because of corona... Yes it's not ideal but remember you were made to do this, with or without a birth partner.
You can do it! I have done my first with only midwives and they are brilliant. They know what they doing. I trust them a lot. And I will be without birth partner again with my second. This is my personal decision, but believe me all midwives know what are you going to get through!
@@adelnemeth9988 I agree, not all birth partners are supportive, as long as you are confident and looking at it in a positive way with God's help, prayer plus the knowledge and awareness that we have, we can do this🙏❤ there will always be a medical team / midwives who will assist you especially if you are already in need to push.
While these are nice recommendations, the underlying assumptions of mind over body “where your mind goes your body follows” oversimplify the complex interplay of the different aspects of human experience. I don’t think it is kind or fair to tell women that if they can just control their thoughts and breathing, they can “achieve” their desired birth experience. There are realities of birth that simply are beyond our control! And such diverse experiences. Some women go into labor unprepared and fearful and have a quick, relatively easy vaginal birth. Others, like me, go into it extremely prepared (hypnobirth trained) and fearless and labor was long and became excruciating (at my most relaxed the contractions became wildly painful and I kept vomiting so I could hardly breathe and baby was not making the final shift into position) and I chose a c-section. It is very harsh to believe that fear caused the pain! Or that we must always be in control.
Does she say that you can achieve your desired birth experience? Because I’m pretty sure she doesn’t mention that. She does talk about taking control of your birth and having birth partner facilitate in that as well, to have a calmer birth. And from watching her other videos, that sense of calm can translate to any type of birth you have - unmedicated, induced, medicated, c-section. As someone who has had two unmedicated births but did not know what to expect the first time around, I felt like my contractions were purely happening to me and that I was completely out of control. When my midwives arrived, after laboring alone with my husband for several hours, I remember one of the first things they said to me and it was a gentle reminder to slow my breathing down. I had been in a state of complete panic until they got there to reassure me. Reassuring a mother can do a lot for her in the throes of labor and I wish I had been more prepared for labor. And I wish my husband had been, too!
I think she was commenting on the part where she says where the mind goes the body will follow which isn’t true in all cases. I’m 36 wks and used to have debilitating menstrual cramps that I would try to manage mentally. One time the cramps got so bad I was permanently hunched over and almost headed to the ER. I called the nurse and she told me that cramps can and will build on top of one another which in my case it did. I finally took some ibuprofen and it helped. Sometimes the mind can’t always control what the body does no matter how calm and hard we try.
Natural birth is not going to work for everyone, but these are the tips used in those times when the mother has chosen that route. While it doesn't work for everyone, and nor has it ever been stated by anyone that it does, these are still for everyone to try. If it works it works if it doesn't it doesn't, and that's okay! Everyone IS different. But our minds are more powerful than we give credit to. Our thoughts literally shape everything. Anyhow, this is why during pregnancy you should discuss with your health provider the best birthing option for you, or the birthing option you would most like to try. Birthing plans aren't to be 100% followed, they are just step by steps to see how things go in the moment, and when other things arise, the medical staff knows what to do in those moments.
it would be really great if you used more inclusive language in your videos. I'm grateful for the information you're passing on, but not all of us are comfortable being constantly referred to as mama or with female pronouns, etc, so it's jarring and makes it more difficult to absorb this information. No hate, I know the vast majority of birthing parents do identify as female, but I just wanted you to know that the rest of us are out here too.
Lmao. Women birth babies. Women with women hormones. Women anatomy. That's been scientifically proven if it bothers you, sounds like a personal problem and your desire to ignore that, is your issue. Ain't no dude with a penis bustin' babies😭😂😂😂

Thank you for sharing a positive story!!
It’s 3 am here.. up to pee... new video.. say what?! Great timing!
Frequent pee-ers unite! ✊🏽
Hehe cute! Feel ya
Squirrel Girl omg lol! Frequent pee-ers unite!
Lol! That’s literally how I found these videos and exactly when I come back every early morning.
Panicked because my birth was so different than what I expected - thankful though that I didn't have to labor for hours and hours 🙏
The Nurse did exactly what you explained and helped me to 'come back'.
Literally going to be induced in an hour. Thank you!!
Much love
I’m going in for induction tomorrow. After watching your videos, we are going in with a positive mindset & are so excited!! Thank you so much!❤️
Currently 31 weeks ftm. I'm wanting to do a natural water birth in the hospital. After watching this I think my husband would be the complete opposite of supportive and stress me out more. He's definitely not the sentimental, emotional type. Now I'm considering telling him to stay home and just going through it myself.
Get a doula! And have your partner watch these videos. Let him know how important this is to you.
My partner sounds like he favors your husband. Smh
If you don't think your husband is up to the job, could you ask a friend or family member to be there with you instead? xxxx
Same, I feel like is best for my baby's father to stay home.
Same with me ...I can't expect my husband that he will help me
Thank you so much for making these videos; especially this one.
How did it goes🥳
How was labor?

Hi Bridget, I can't thank you enough for all your videos. You and Pregnancy and Postpartum TV really helped me during my pregnancy and I'm recommending your channels to everyone.
I gave birth to our beautiful daughter 5 days ago ❤
My labor was natural, at home (I live in the Netherlands), but I planned to go to the hospital.
I'm very satisfied with how it went,
I have only 1 degree tear because she was born with the hand close to her face, but overall no medication.
How did your VBAC go?☺️ I’ve had 4 VBAC births and I’m hoping my 6th baby is my 5th successful VBAC as well❤️
this is quite literally one of THE most helpful birth videos I've ever seen. THANK YOU.
Today’s my due date! Perfect timing Bridget 🥰
I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and I've been watching one of your videos almost everyday. There are a few, like this one, which I plan to watch with my husband to prepare us better for the birth. ♥️
I was very zen about the whole thing but after hearing a few stories of women with birth canals to small for their. baby, I must admit that I started to worry a little bit since I'm very petite and will be delivering at a birthing center.
I was planning on doing hypnobirthing, just waiting for the book to arrive.
How far is the birthing center from your home? xxxx
How did it go? 😊
being a birth partner is about being a "guardian of oxytocin": maintaining dark (if in hospital, use eye mask), quietness, less thought/speech from mama, relaxation techniques like massage and all these that Bridget says, and guarding against "predators" like dastardly doctors who just come to stress and any imposing family members... my two cents.

Practice your breathing techniques with partner and partner to use positive affirmation to keep you focused and less panicked. Also practice different birthing positions with your partner. The more prepared you are the better and easier labour
Thank you Bridget! Your videos and birth affirmations have been so helpful to help me relax
Where do we get the printout on the relaxation techniques your talking about

I'm so scared 😥. I had my two previous children naturally, but it traumatized me, bc there was nothing calm about me either time I gave birth. Plus, all the breathing tips went out the window. I feel anxious just thing about it, and I'm not due until summer 2023.
My name is Anna!! This is gonna be so helpful!! Haha! 😅
I can’t get the link for birth meditation affirmations to work
I have been having a hard time finding unmedicated labor resources that will be helpful to me
I have a history of precipitous labor (from dilated to 6 and irregular to baby in 1 hr 15 mins). This led to not receiving the epidural as planned. This time, I don't want the epidural. I liked being able to stand and move after labor too much
But, all of these tips revolve around average 10 hr+ labors. Contractions that come in waves. Things that I didn't experience and most likely won't experience this time
I need tips to take charge when the staff are losing their cool. How to breathe through contractions that are continuous, not coming in waves. Tips for partner to effectively intercede if they break my waters without my knowledge or consent again during rapid contractions
How to deal with the fetal ejection reflex. How to cope with the pain of placental delivery as the adrenaline and it's pain relieving effects are gone and the shakes and blood pressure drop come on
Lots and lots of resources for long prodromal labors, and for long labors in general. But not finding much to help those of us with precipitous birth histories. Help for pregnant people who not only might like to have unmedicated births, but are unlikely to even have the option of medication
Have you checked out Nurse Zabe on RUclips? She has a video on this.
Dunno why, but started tearing up during the 5 steps towards the end... My partner is looking at each like “you used to be cool” hahaa
Yesterday morning, around 7am (aug 30th) I walked a peaceful 3 miles at 40wks and 2 days....I just gave birth at 2:22 am this morning.(aug 31)
Ladies do not fear the contractions.

She’s just giving you tips towards your best chance of having a good experience. It’s never a guarantee.
Not everyone is allowed with a birth partner in other countries. So maybe update the video for these situations?
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
it would be really great if you used more inclusive language in your videos.
Only females give birth? We are not “birthing persons”. We are women designed by God to give birth and be women. Your comment is highly offensive
😅😅😅 gee
Lmao. Women birth babies. Women with women hormones. Women anatomy. That's been scientifically proven if it bothers you, sounds like a personal problem and your desire to ignore that, is your issue. Ain't no dude with a penis bustin' babies😭😂😂😂
9:36 I know I’m pregnant, but this just made me cry. 🥲 Very reassuring. ❤
