They should make a Continuous Spell/Field card that makes it so that "C" monsters on your opponent's side can't be used for a summon. Would be cool to reflect the cards' lore and art through an effects like that on the actual player.
I'd imagine that Contact C could have its summon depicted as landing on the Extra Deck of the opponent's duel disk, which is why it can be used as a material which would be like swatting it off of the disk to access the ED. I get the purpose of Maxx C, I just don't think it even does what it was designed to do (restrict combo decks) because unless you draw into the right cards to stop your opponent then you'll be losing even if you have half your deck in your hand, and that's even assuming that your opponent didn't open Ash, Called By, or Crossout Designator. Combo decks are still the strongest decks in formats regardless on if Maxx C is in the game or not. In my opinion, the Flying "C" and Contact "C" are really nice :))) Flying "C" shows how a person figures out that the cockroaches in their house can fly, and they fly fast. For people who are afraid of cockroaches, those pests crawling is already scary enough, and them flying is wayyyyyy worse. That's why the opponent can't perform XYZ Summon anymore, since they're shocked and frozen. The Contact "C" is a whole next level. After seeing them flying, being touched by one of those is anyone's worst nightmare. Or you freeze right when touched and do nothing (can't perform most of the Special Summon type) or be brave, get rid of the thing yourself and overcome you fear (using the card as a material) I love this archetype, really ralated to real life. I hope Konami will keep publishing these kind of archetypes and keep supporting this one
Go figure that one of the most broken cards in the game is one devoted to the a roach and just like real life, nobody wants them and are too afraid at the thought of seeing them in sight. Thanks for covering this archetype! Hilariously, I literally looked up this one not too long ago.
So…does this mean “C” will become an archetype or a new one will be in the next main booster? Also, love that you mentioned one of the good games. I love it when my opponent uses Maxx and I still win by summoning a bunch. I guess it doesn’t matter to me since I don’t care to play competitively. Just so long as I can have fun, it can be at anything that makes those competitive players happy.
I'd love to see you cover the "Junk" archetype usually used by Yusei from the 5'Ds series! One of my personally favorite archetypes, so this is something always in the back of my mind when I'm watching this series.
My Theory on Shiny Black "C" Squadder: Since Reverse of Arcadia came out BEFORE Shiny Black "C" Squadder, what we're seeing is the "C"s' civilian form. And C Squadder is their transformed state.
Quick random comment, shiny black C has never work, it never gives you the opportunity to activate it's effect no matter what, in none of the videogames (until master duel of course)
There's a new one now; the cockroaches have found shelter in a closet, and the second it bursts open, it's lights out. Mechanically, it summons itself face-down, flips during the end phase, and destroys all special summoned monsters. It's a great idea with excellent execution!
This is the funniest card design I've ever seen. Even cards like the ones from the Unsets of MTG are more so amusing than how "C" makes me giggle inside.
3:23 I never fought that on that game! 7:08 3 With some decks, you don't even special summon at all. 7:48 Can still Link summon. 8:38 Hel-looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Now, you're speaking my language! 9:28 Okay! I'm going to have to get all of these cards and try them out! The best part about this card is that it's not a once per turn. If you can create the right deck, you can make a lot of disruption on the field.
Oh dang actually.... As much as I'd like to hear the story of Krawler's (and I gues sin turn World Legacy). Live☆Twin would also be an incredible one I've always wanted to learn more about! Love these videos, currently binging them all. Thanks for the amazing content! :D
And this happens everytime your opponent has 15+ cards on their hand? If you were using a rhongo deck I would've believed you, and even then what are the odds of your opponent drawing hand traps while you were doing your 50-step combo? Pretty high, I'd imagine... You're either lying or your opponents are as dumb as dirt
9:16 this card looks really good against HERO Decks because there no Fusion HERO monsters that require an insect type monster. BTW nice Smash Bros reference there 9:47
@@DaemonRayge he kinda is, lower than average stats, very meh effect, and aside from literally only solid soldier i don't think heroes play any other earth monster in the main deck, not counting maxx c.
It'll be really good against most fusion decks since most don't have a use for insect or earth monsters and the one's that do would sort of waste their resources on a card they really don't need eg Invoked or Shaddoll
I just wish that Contact C wasn’t so easy to out. Generic links are so common that the monster does absolutely nothing but give your opponent resources
"If a level 4 or lower monster effect is activated in the grave negate it and banish it face down. If it's a insect monster place it face up into your opponents deck and shuffle it. That deck cannot be shuffled for the rest of the duel. Any and all cards under this card is voided and cannot be used for the duel. If the insect is revealed at, during draw phrase or by card effect you lose the duel."
tbh the maxxC challenge is rare to really go thru... i mean you have 3 ash, 1 called by, 3 crossout... and if you go first you probably only play 1 maxx c in main deck as target... which ends up being 8 slots that can be used for disruption you can change while siding... one thing i hear a lot when maxx c is mentioned is that "everyone would play it at 3" ... ye but lets be honest thats the thing with staples ... and i can ensure you, you can go and have a look at the regio/national top cut decklists... chances are you WILL find cards at 3 that are generically good in almost every situation. also there is a chance that maxx c would "create" a new format where you would just face less special spam decks ... but then you would end up with a ton of ppl playing mostly eldlich flowandereeze etc ... and if you will potentially mostly face opponents agaisnt whom maxx c isnt working it would probably end up being a side deck option against a potential combo player...
I'd love to be able to cut Max C out of my decks in Master duel to fit other cards in if nothing else but it's just too generically powerful to not run at least 2 in almost everything not too mention if you don't open a counter to Maxx C you're often just forced to either end your turn on the weakest board you've ever seen or in most cases lose because they drew dropplets or something. I run triple Ash double Called by and double Crossout designator and still often don't have an answer to Maxx C in my opening hand.
To be fair even if Maxx C didn't exist, you'd still run 3x Ash 2x Called and potentially 2+ Crossout in every deck anyway, because they're still that good even without Maxx C existing.
Love your vid man! This is the first time I've seen your vid, and I really like this sort of lore series like the one you did with Sky Striker and many others. Maybe you could continue doing a vid on the rest of the Hero sub-types? Really like those cards, especially a deck combining all of them. I think only Destiny, Vision and Xtra Hero is left. (Since I only saw elemental, evil and masked. But I could be wrong though)
It should be unlimited as it is in OCG and master duel. TCG ban lists are built on the fact that maxx C is banned, but OCG and master duel are fine with 3 copies of maxx C for a reason. With 3 copies of ash, 3 copies of crossout designator and 2 copies of cbtg, combo decks can easily counter maxx C. Not every deck is a combo deck and decks that don't summon a lot like Eldlich and Sky Striker are perfectly viable in master duel/OCG.
Just because you can counter a card doesn’t mean it isn’t an issue, it basically forced people to run those Maxx c outs or you lose to it that’s telltale signs it’s an unhealthy card
@@raisp6073 Ash, crossout designator and cbtg are not only for maxx c. They are most played common handtraps and handtrap counters that get played not only for maxx c. You seem to imply that combo decks doing whatever they want and going-second player doesn't get to play the game is healthy.
I never said they’re only for Maxx C, I’m saying that people stuff their decks with so many because Maxx C even exists. I didn’t mean to imply that the going second player shouldn’t be allowed to play, and even if Maxx C helps going second the person who went first could Maxx C after already setting up a board it’s just a badly designed card that flat out warps the game around it
Contact "C" really should have had a cost for being used as material from an extra deck summon, you're just giving your opponent free tribute/summon fodder without any downside to it; if it did a chunk of burn damage or forced them to discard, excavate or banish, or negate the effects of any monster it was summoned with, then it'd make it just as terrifying to be faced with as the artwork implies. Also Maxx "C" needs to be unbanned, just because of how ridiculous the amount of summoning the game lets you do in a single turn can get; it's the perfect double-edged sword should you force your opponent to do nothing to prevent you drawing, or they for e you to draw all of your deck and they just end their turn for a deck-out win
YUGIOH WORLD DOMINATION!!! Cosmo: I know, I’ll get the Alien series to fight them! Timmy: ALIENS DESTROY EVERYTHING! EXCEPT “C’s” DON’T YOU WATCH THE MOVIES!?
I think Maxx "C" should simply be Errata so that it mostly works in insect decks. Like have it not work if there's a non insect in your GY, making it only useful going second in other decks. But I don't think this is likely.
The flaw within Maxx C is that it is supposed to counter combo decks, but can also be used by them. If it had a restriction that limited your combo abilities then it would be better for the game as a whole.
Maxx could be balanced by making you discard to activate I suppose. And then it has a maximum amount of draws it can get you based on how many cards you can draw
The only part I would agree with is that you should be forced to discard a card and banish a card while negating their effects there shall be no draw limit cause if your Maxx C gets negated you already paid the price for using it

I enjoy all of your videos especially the "The True Rules" series I would enjoy seeing you do a True Rules video based on Action Duels and Action Turbo Duels if you havent done it already it seems interesting enough for both versions to be touched upon
Honestly Maxx C doesn't affect me in any way, shape or form because my play style is more about taking my opponents strongest monster for my self while using Kaijus to remove problem cards... I hardly use special summons outside of using Graydle Jr to special summon 2 Graydles then summon white Aura whale or Graydle Dragon to destroy my opponents monsters or cards
Each of the C depicts a different cockroach subspecies as each roach has different things it does. The maxx c is likely the American cockroach as they breed like crazy and are impossible to get rid of once established. Retaliating C is likely the Madagascar hissing cockroach as they are kinda aggressive towards everything as you can hear the hiss they give off. The Japanese cockroach somehow was introduced into New York City a few years ago via the Highline park. They were hiding within the soil used to cover parts of the park likely eggs or whole ones. Either way it’s our problem now.
As a fan of Kamen Rider, Megazords are more a Power Ranger thing than a Kamen Rider thing. Unless you wanna count Zero-One's Breaking Mammoth form...or that one time in OOOs.
#maxxCchallenge Also I think maxx C should be at least 1 as to make it a more strategic choice when dropping it since it also runs a risk since some decks can special summon enough to usually deck out opponents who drop it.
Max c should have a restriction where you can only summon insects untill the end of the next turn Also should only be activable if either you control no monsters or contol at last one insect monster
I’d be totally fine with maxx c if it had a restriction that you cannot activate any more effects the rest of this turn (so you couldn’t activate any more hand traps) cause it’s one thing to take the maxx c challenge or forced to have an open field. But it’s another if they get extreme card advantage AND still able to disrupt your plays further if they draw more hand traps.
Maxx "C" could come back with an errata that heavily restricts the amount of drawing one can do. The 2 counters are ash and called by, while called by is limited so you would want to save it for something else, and ash is hard once per turn so it's effect then is impossible to use again that turn. Which makes the counters to the card not want to counter it.
Maxx c should have the mtg approach of persistent petitioners or shadowborn apostles. It should have a special rule allowing you to play any number of it.
kind of funny how max c is kind of similer to that one bug canon card from the early days of yugioh were it either balance or weak but in the modern day were duels only like 2 turns it goes real fast
the main reason maxx c is broken is that its effect pays for it self since it is always played in response to a special summon. you dont lose any hand advantage and you stopped your opponents turn.

@@Dar2Jee realistically speaking Maxx C at 3 more or less just changes deckbuilding with "you need answers to maxx C". Having it at 1 or 2 wouldn't really change it as if you dont ash blossom / cbtg / drill lock the enemy maxx C you're just giving them an almost guaranteed victory.
I'm used to it being a 3 myself, and the OCG has had it at 3 for ages and they even have decks that don't even play it because everyone runs counters to it anyway.
@@Dar2Jee Those same people will use Maxx c on you as well so that doesn't solve the issue.
@@AxisChurchDevotee so what ? maxx c at 3 would not cause a single problem. ppl are just scared to adapt to new situations so they rumor about how it would "ruin" everything you have that bullshit in every context whenever change is the matter of conversation. i mean have you ever in your life played on ocg server with their banlist? difference can also be interesting you dont have to be scared about stuff being different.
I would LOVE to see a Lore video on the Krawler archetype (or heck, make it a huge 3 parter and cover the whole of World Legacy thing).
In my opinion, the Flying "C" and Contact "C" are really nice :)))
Flying "C" shows how a person figures out that the cockroaches in their house can fly, and they fly fast.
Or you freeze right when touched and do nothing (can't perform most of the Special Summon type) or be brave, get rid of the thing yourself and overcome you fear (using the card as a material)
I love this archetype, really ralated to real life. I hope Konami will keep publishing these kind of archetypes and keep supporting this one
Good news! There’s a new one with a bunch of “C”s in the closet.
Go figure that one of the most broken cards in the game is one devoted to the a roach and just like real life, nobody wants them and are too afraid at the thought of seeing them in sight. Thanks for covering this archetype! Hilariously, I literally looked up this one not too long ago.
That's not true. There are decks who are delighted to engage in the Maxx 'C' Challenge. :)
What i love most is when they use maxx c and i cant summon either way or sp summon. 😂 sorry first turn shit hand you wasted your maxx c on my search
@@psnpanuch8142 my favorite part is when they have a 5 negate board and drop Maxx c on my turn.
I'd love to see you cover the "Junk" archetype usually used by Yusei from the 5'Ds series!
One of my personally favorite archetypes, so this is something always in the back of my mind when I'm watching this series.
I love this series and I hope he covers the Melffy archetype it's so adorable
Just to mention, I would say the last one is a guy hitting his own arm with a lid to kill the cockroach on his arm.
My Theory on Shiny Black "C" Squadder:
Since Reverse of Arcadia came out BEFORE Shiny Black "C" Squadder, what we're seeing is the "C"s' civilian form.
Even cards like the ones from the Unsets of MTG are more so amusing than how "C" makes me giggle inside.
with regards to the form of the cocroach given the example of the 5ds game I choose to imagine that the squad is piloting the bug so both are correct.
I love taking the maxx c challenge with my adamancipator deck. It is satisfying to see your opponent lose when having 15+ cards in hand
Same with my Mayakashi deck. Throw down a Soul absorbing bone tower, and climb my way into a win via deck-out.
@@ergonamix9977 I love Mayakashi deck out. It's just a shame the it only really works if you go first most times! Or maybe that's for the better lol.
I run Exodia with Maxx C. Already got tons of wins because of it
They should have play around it
And this happens everytime your opponent has 15+ cards on their hand? If you were using a rhongo deck I would've believed you, and even then what are the odds of your opponent drawing hand traps while you were doing your 50-step combo? Pretty high, I'd imagine... You're either lying or your opponents are as dumb as dirt
The video I’ve been waiting for has finally arrived!!!
9:16 this card looks really good against HERO Decks because there no Fusion HERO monsters that require an insect type monster. BTW nice Smash Bros reference there 9:47
Elemental HERO Gaia: "Am I some kind of joke to you?"
@@DaemonRayge he kinda is, lower than average stats, very meh effect, and aside from literally only solid soldier i don't think heroes play any other earth monster in the main deck, not counting maxx c.
@@kr555wizard yeah I don't see anyone using Elemental HERO Gaia in Master Duel.
4:44 Inspiration!
Phobia Archetype!
A phobia card that disrupt the opponent
A Therapist protected against the Phobia source
Catharsis!
I actually prefer if my opponents use their maxx C. It just speeds up Lycoris' burn damage.
Weevil Underwood must be salivating at the idea of getting this series of cards in his deck.
Yo when the video ended, I got an ad for a bug spray LMAO perfect timing
Hope they make a “Smashed C” card where the cockroach is swatted. Maybe it could have a generic effect of countering hand traps or something. 🪳
Recently I really got into the Insect archetype and hahahahaha this is so incredibly fggn well put together 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭
Maxx C is probably a lesson on not to put too many food out or cockroaches will come out the cupboards.
tbh the maxxC challenge is rare to really go thru... i mean you have 3 ash, 1 called by, 3 crossout... and if you go first you probably only play 1 maxx c in main deck as target... which ends up being 8 slots that can be used for disruption you can change while siding...
one thing i hear a lot when maxx c is mentioned is that "everyone would play it at 3" ... ye but lets be honest thats the thing with staples ... and i can ensure you, you can go and have a look at the regio/national top cut decklists... chances are you WILL find cards at 3 that are generically good in almost every situation.
also there is a chance that maxx c would "create" a new format where you would just face less special spam decks ... but then you would end up with a ton of ppl playing mostly eldlich flowandereeze etc ... and if you will potentially mostly face opponents agaisnt whom maxx c isnt working it would probably end up being a side deck option against a potential combo player...
Lol, go triple crossout and triple droll and lockbird
Yep the Kamen Rider influences are all over this
Before I never wanted to see Maxx C again but, master duel has really got me questioning things
Maxx C at 1 is the most logical choice. The chances of getting it is low and you can only use it once
Maxx "C" can backfire horribly, because if you pull off special summoning 35 times, you can deck out.
Or when facing trickstars
Or half that amount if they use card destruction
0:26 elite scream
Def would love a series on the scareclaws once they get more support
I wasnt expecting a gabriel dropout clip even if it is the best roach scene in anime I have seen
how to be a giga chad in 1 deck
>Play Exodia
>Demand that your opponent takes the Maxx C challenge
either they forfeit or you win.
I’d like to see an episode on the Frightfur archetype, as well as the Fluffals and Edge Imps that make them up.
With Splight skulking around the ocg, they might see a hit there
Everyone has balls until the "C" flies
YUGIOH WORLD DOMINATION!!!
Cosmo: I know, I’ll get the Alien series to fight them!
Timmy: ALIENS DESTROY EVERYTHING! EXCEPT “C’s” DON’T YOU WATCH THE MOVIES!?
Funny enough, that last night I got 3 shiny black C from legacy card packs
Great as all the archetype series so far
I bet there are duelists who didn’t know that others aside from max c exist
I think Maxx "C" should simply be Errata so that it mostly works in insect decks. Like have it not work if there's a non insect in your GY, making it only useful going second in other decks. But I don't think this is likely.
The flaw within Maxx C is that it is supposed to counter combo decks, but can also be used by them. If it had a restriction that limited your combo abilities then it would be better for the game as a whole.
Cockroaches are OP. They survive without a Head. And it's said, Cockroaches can even survive a Nuclear War.
MOST OP ANIMAL IN EXISTENCE.
Maxx could be balanced by making you discard to activate I suppose. And then it has a maximum amount of draws it can get you based on how many cards you can draw
The only part I would agree with is that you should be forced to discard a card and banish a card while negating their effects there shall be no draw limit cause if your Maxx C gets negated you already paid the price for using it
I feel like them showing us what they are kinda takes away from the scary factor
3:40: "A giant Megazord."
Me, A Power Ranger/Super Sentai fan: I mean, technically, that's a rare kinda megazord combo since there's more 5-Zord based Megazords than 3, and the only bug-themed Megazord, to my knowledge was actually driven by 2 Rangers....
3:43:...
Me: And yet, that definitely sounds like a name the Super Sentai would give their Megazords...
“C”ould’ve been a fire yugioh episode
I enjoy all of your videos especially the "The True Rules" series I would enjoy seeing you do a True Rules video based on Action Duels and Action Turbo Duels if you havent done it already it seems interesting enough for both versions to be touched upon
I love your archetype series videos, will you please do the nepthys cards? They are my favorite set of cards. Thank you!
I love C series I thought you would never cover them want to play them except max C
Those little critters always causing problems for duelists. Lol
Either way it’s our problem now.
oof
As a fan of Kamen Rider, Megazords are more a Power Ranger thing than a Kamen Rider thing. Unless you wanna count Zero-One's Breaking Mammoth form...or that one time in OOOs.
Or Saber’s King Arthur sword mech.
#maxxCchallenge
Also I think maxx C should be at least 1 as to make it a more strategic choice when dropping it since it also runs a risk since some decks can special summon enough to usually deck out opponents who drop it.
Max c should have a restriction where you can only summon insects untill the end of the next turn
Also should only be activable if either you control no monsters or contol at last one insect monster
That miko is definately caught me off guard
I’d be totally fine with maxx c if it had a restriction that you cannot activate any more effects the rest of this turn (so you couldn’t activate any more hand traps) cause it’s one thing to take the maxx c challenge or forced to have an open field. But it’s another if they get extreme card advantage AND still able to disrupt your plays further if they draw more hand traps.
i was really looking forward to this "archetype"(?) video ,im very satisfied.
Retaliating C was the mvp of my deck in the last Master Duel Fusion event
What about the "c" normal monster with 2000 attack points? Isn't that apart of the archetype?
Edit: Nevermind lol 😅 2:46
Ah I see that you're a man of culture for the anime scenes especially Gabriel Dropout.
I honestly hope they make a "C" Squad mini archetype to go along with Shiny Black "C" ranger and the mega-"C"-zord.
I like maxx c at 3 because just by existing it slows the game down.
Needs to be limited to 1. Max c is a nice counter, but it’s too powerful when you more than one.
kind of funny how max c is kind of similer to that one bug canon card from the early days of yugioh were it either balance or weak but in the modern day were duels only like 2 turns it goes real fast
the main reason maxx c is broken is that its effect pays for it self since it is always played in response to a special summon. you dont lose any hand advantage and you stopped your opponents turn.
I always thought it was called "C" because the creatures in the artwork *see* you, and you only *see* their eyes... XD
No video in youtube has a gameplay using this archetype
Hey! Thanks for the clip! Means a lot! ♥️
That game likely came out before shining black C squadder hence the appearance being different as it wasn't decided yet.
I'm surprised after so long into doing this series, you haven't done 'Six Samurais' yet
I'm not a huge fan of insects but weirdly I don't mind cockroach
They're help remind me to clean the house and disinfect it
Still waiting for the Swordsoul lore video.WTF they combine? Konami really I hate them enough.
The combo mentality of most TCG players will keep them insisting to ban Maxx C.
Oh. A new video. I better "C" this!!
I like how you used the example of the super sentai gokaiger using the powers of kamen rider ooo
Now everytime I see a "C" card, it reminds me to Rosemi Lovelock when she discovered "C" stands for cockroaches.
