Realizing that he’d lose and then suffer more at the bully’s hands because of his arrogance, big bro intervened the way he did, and told lil bro that he shouldn’t use a powerful card like that until he learned to respect his opponents and dueling as a whole Sho/Syrus finally understood his brother’s point during his duel with Jaden/Judai, because he used the overwhelming power of his deck and Power Bond to crush his opponent without treating him badly because of it- using the card didn’t give him license to be a dick Simple as that! Nice character development and actual relationship building between the brothers!
Chimeratech Overdragon is truly my favorite since the GX Era. Good backstory of the series once again. And this monster card was the result of Zane going hungry for power.
Not to mention with the new Cyberdarks it's easy to get it on like 25.000 Atk with around 20 attacks against monsters with theoreticly just one card as set up.
It’s pretty funny that the support of the CyberDragon archetype would become its own downfall. XD It’s basically Pokemon logic where dragon types are weak to their own type. Thank you so much for covering this series, TGS anime. Forgive me for laughing when you got Chimeratech Fortress Dragon’d.
@Swannonymous fortress tributes machines from both sides of the field as long as there at least one Cyber dragon. So your opponent can summon all the Cyber dragon monsters they want and than you can just get rid of the whole field and get a big beater Edited: also they were using pokemons types in their example not yugioh types, heck they even stated it XD
One of my all-time favorite archetypes with one of my favorite cards being chimeratech rampage dragon.Zane was a friggin beast with a damn near unbeatable deck during the GX era.
It's a shame they don't make more Chimeratech monsters past the four. I could imagine them making ones with different use cases like one that copies Chimeratech Fortress Dragon's anime effect, focusing on effect damage. Then again, I'd hope they'd make more that serve as actual Cyber Dragon support like good boy Rampage Dragon, not incidental counter-support like bad boy Fortress Dragon...
They should make a link chimeratech that protects your field from being tributed or used as fusion material by the opponent. That would be sick (and maybe make Infinity totally broken with no out to it).
Not entirely sure what could be done with another Chimeratech. Over is a beatstick, Fortress is anti-machine removal, Rampage is backrow hate and Megafleet is anti-link. VixYW has a nice idea with a protective Chimeratech, kinda like what Konami tried to do but failed with Cyber Eternity Dragon, but that doesn't really fit the "random destruction" theme of the Chimeratechs.
Yes, YES *YES,* *YEEEEEEEES!!!!!!* I've been waiting for this Trivia for years! This was part of my first competitive deck nearly a decade ago and MAN, did it feel good bringing Chimeratech monsters out! I even wanted to see a Academia duelists show up in Arc-V with these! I'd imagine they'd be kind and courteous in a duel, but the moment they summon a Chimeratech monster, they'd turn unhinged and merciless!
The Cyber Dragons archetype is one of my absolute favourites. The first Meta-esque deck I built in Master Duel was a Cyber Dragon deck, which I still use today. I can very much relate to your utter frustration when your opponent wiped out your field using Fortress Dragon. I really enjoyed this video, man. Keep up the great work!
It’s sad because we actually spend screen time with the 2 beings before they merged into 1, if it was random human #2935 and random animal #2159, it wouldn’t be so sad. But because we know EXACTLY who and where the 2 came from, it just hurts that much more
Can I real with y'all, Rebirth Judgement's artwork looked a bit scary to most children back when Yugioh GX was airing, myself included. But now days, the artwork looks really cool with its allusion to the Terminator series or AstroBoy.
Hello, great video as always. Of quick note, Chimeratech Fortress Dragon’s original release wasn’t the collector tin, rather it was a subscription bonus in Shonen Jump subscriptions. However, that was strictly for US residents, so the widespread release was the Collector Tin still
Ouch. Sounds like Chimeratech Fortress Dragon taught you a very brutal leason that Power is a Double Edged Sword. I wonder if Chimeratech Fortress Dragon was made specifically to take down any of the Cyber Dragon Tech if any if them went haywire.

I just realised that Chimeratech Overdragon's effect to blow up ypur own field is a reference to its lore of destroying everything around it before coming into being

I desperately want more but God dammit if they make another fortress variant can they at least include the line of text that the cyber dragon has to be on your side of the field!!!
Glad to see an archetype video from you again, loved this one, your explanations on each of the archetypes make it easier to know what cards are ideal for some player & what to look out for when playing them Suggestion :- maybe in the future you can try an archetype that’s one of my favourites : The @ignister archetype
I love this series of cards. They're the definition of overwhelming battle strength. But my favorite by far is Rampage Dragon, as it has the most "protection" lol. It's the only one that can get rid of problem cards before you attack, as the other monsters don't. And, unlike Megafleet and Fortress classic, Rampage can't be used against you to wipe your field. (So sorry for getting Fortressed by the way). But, all that aside, they're all really really cool. You feel awesome when you summon them, and that's all that matters imo. And, what if konami made a whole sub archetype around the Chimeratech monsters? The monsters would treat their name as Cyber Dragon to meet the fusion requirements, however they all would have different effects revolving around swarming and contact fusing, maybe even gifting effects to the Chimeratech monsters when used for fusion summoning. Akin somewhat to the Cyberdark monsters, except far easier to swarm and fuse with. That could be super cool.
Rampage Dragon also has the sickest name and it feels like an uncontrollable machine of destruction. I was so hyped when he and Infinity got announced back then.
I know this is wholly unrelated to this video, but I was bouncing around ideas for some modern Gate Guardian support/retrains, and I have a pitch for some of it I wanted to get some constructive feedback on (Plus I play around with the effects with each post of this): Have Gate Guardian (Renamed _Labyrinth Guardian_ ) be a main deck Pendulum Monster (so it can exist in the main OR extra deck), with level 11 pendulum arrows to make it easier to summon it’s proper components It could be an even 3750 ATK/DEF, be a tuner, and have the effect adjusted to be special summonable (from the hand or graveyard) first by sending it’s classic materials from the field to the graveyard to summon it And it has the following effects: 👾Monster Effect: _Cannot be normal summoned or set. Must first be special summoned (from the hand or graveyard) by tributing "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin", and if you do this card gains the following effects: Thrice per turn, this card cannot be destroyed or affected by battle or card effects. This monster can attack an additional two times a turn, and durning damage calculation (Quick Effect), any monster this card battles has its ATK/DEF reduced to 0. Once per turn, at the end of your turn, you may return this card on the field to your hand to special summon "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin" from your graveyard to your field, or return them to hand._ ⬅️➡️Pendulum effect: _Once per turn, if you control no monsters on your side of the field, you may normal or special summon one “Labyrinth Wall” and/or “Wall Shadow” in defense position from your hand or deck. While “Labyrinth Wall” is on your side of the field, once per turn at the beginning of your turn, you may declare that monsters require one less or more tribute to summon. Once per turn, when you have a LIGHT, WIND, AND WATER attribute monster on the field each, you may tribute them to special/normal summon "Sanga of the Thunder", "Kazejin", and "Suijin" from your hand or graveyard, and if you do, add this card to your hand._
This sounds like a better direction for Gate Guardian to be a pendulum. This has got to be some of the hardest archetypes to achieve any viable gameplay with little in the way of support. Adding to your suggestions, I would advocate supplementing this boss monster with more lower creatures (level 4 or below) that bolsters or gives an incentive for playing the same element attributes as the guardians in addition to some spells or traps. If I were a game designer for this, this would be challenging because this archetype looks cool, but the lack of support, steep cost of three level 8 monsters, and a difficult summon for it's combined form was a disappointment.
Chimeratech Rampage Dragon was the reason why poor Cyber Twin Dragon became obsolete in many Cyber Dragon decks: Doesn't specifically need two Cyber Dragon, but Cydra monsters, can destroy spells & traps, the triple attack deals a bit more damage than Twin's double attack, can run over a monster and still go for the OTK (with Power Bound for example), unlike Twin who must attack 2x directly or kill a much weaker monster in ATK mode and go for the direct attack. Rampage also has much more synergy with rank 5 plays for Nova, which is the other OTK way.
Idea for chimeratechs: Chimeratech Artillery Triahackat (Fusion) It's effect would be like the original fortress dragons, Skips attack and deals 400 dmg ChimeraTech Plasma Ripper (Link) An upgraded Laser Dragon ChimeraTech Plasma Field (Link) A upgraded form of Barrier Chimeratech Calamity Hydruuf (Fusion) (Needs 5+ materials from the banish zone in which you shuffle to the deck but it's first effect would be that you can't draw, halve you're lp, and the entire grave is banish, also it has 3000 Attack and Defence and gains effects equal to the amount of banished card)
I didn't know Rebirth Judgement was out; apparently, since 2021...no wonder I didn't know. I honestly expected it to be super strong, but seeing how it's unlimited, perhaps it's a bit slow as it is a trap card (?).
I doubt it will ever be an even remotely playable card, unless Konami makes an archetype to use it with, because as it is now, almost no deck needs certain monster types in the GY to be able to play. You're better off playing TCBOO/ Gozen/ Rivalry if you really want to hinder your opponent from doing something. The card also is just very slow as a trap.
Zombie world is a much better alternative for hindering the opponent as it's more searchable and can be activated immediately, while also having more effects
The story of the chimeratech fortress as well as the chimaretech megafleet dragon cynically fits kinda with the story of the cyber dragon archetype and Zane's story itself. Zane tried to get stronger, more reckless, and more open to attacks, which in the end led to his own downfall due to his reckless behavior caused a heart attack on his all-time high. So do resemble chimeratech fortress and chimeratech megafleet dragon the same respective story - we cyber dragon player try to be more reckless in our strategies, trying to become stronger (as in, "better cards") and as such, we're more vulnerable ("to the abuse of our cards by our same cards) which in the end do costs us being significant in the meta. I still stand by the fact that the cyber dragon archetype (including CyberDarks) is still the best and most accurate designed archetype in the entire card game and even tho it sucks, I just couldn't be happier that we still where relevant when Sky Striker and Orcust where meta. And personally, I don't want Konami to change how this archetype is right now. It's just perfect just as it is. Any deviation from how it is and works just wouldn't be the cyber dragon/CyberDarks archetype.
I'll never forget the first time I summoned Chimeratech Overdragon. I didn't even have a proper deck for it, I only had an Ancient Gear deck. And while I had the fusion card, I had no "Cyber Dragon" to summon it with, but I did have "Proto-Cyber Dragon." One duel, while mostly losing, I actually got my one and only Proto-Cyber out, and happen to draw "Overload Fusion." The result was a 14 fusion material Chimeratech victory!
Thing is, though, if you have Cyber Dragons, and the opponent is also playing a Machine-type based deck (like, say, for example...Orcusts, or something), you could also use those Orcusts to then boost your own Fortress and Megafleet dragons' power, AS WELL AS use your own machine-type Cyber Dragons. Or, even, use DNA Surgery for all those crazies out there who want to pull a Buster Blader and manipulate types, to change all the opponent's monsters into machine-types, so no matter what, you can just take the opponent's entire board regardless of what they're playing. Or, just...use Nibiru? No, seriously, it's a better way to make the opponent rage like there's no tomorrow.
Nice argument for Nibiru but what if they summon a negate before the 5th summon? The use of materials for the summon of Fortress and Megafleet can't be negated at least.
Actually, this year in November a spellcard will release which is a support card for all machine but specifically earth machine monsters. It's first and most important effect states that all monsters on the field become machine type monsters which means you can nuke your opponents monster zone with your Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Pretty sick.
Fortress Dragon doesn't really feel like Cyber Dragon support tbh. Even back when it was released, it probably wouldn't be worth it to summon it over other things. It legit feels like a lore-based and real-life backfire lol
@Jake Folk I'm sorry mate, but I don't think the scenario you've just described to me has ever occurred. Cyber mirrors aren't as common as you're hoping, I think.

And while I had the fusion card, I had no "Cyber Dragon" to summon it with, but I did have "Proto-Cyber Dragon."
One duel, while mostly losing, I actually got my one and only Proto-Cyber out, and happen to draw "Overload Fusion." The result was a 14 fusion material Chimeratech victory!
Chimeratech Overdragon is awesome!
EVOLUTION RESULT BURST!
+TGS Anime Utopia Archetype please
Damn that Fortress! I had no idea the card worked like that in the TCG LOL
Loving this and thnks fer the love for cyber drags
I cried seeing that beautiful board get wiped by fortress
I love how you put in futuristic Elon Musk TESLA Cyberpunk music and let it play along hahahaha
Oooo! Delightful! I needed something new to listen to! Also, Fur Hire archetype when?
Chimaeratech Rampage Dragon is one of my go tos and has one me many games. I run cyber dragons in master duel
I still play them to this day at locals, although it is an outdated casual build
Actually, this year in November a spellcard will release which is a support card for all machine but specifically earth machine monsters. It's first and most important effect states that all monsters on the field become machine type monsters which means you can nuke your opponents monster zone with your Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Pretty sick.
"you must control cyber dragon to summon this monster" that's all they need to add
2:06 never noticed he pulled a fusion monster out his main deck
I run a single copy of chimeratech overdragon as a sort of last ditch red button to just ram into my opponent in a one last hurrah.
God zane was so fucking cool look at at his extra deck bro it's so sick!
It's cool that he now has footage of Master Duel of himself to add to his videos
I remember doing the dump all machine monster for Chimeratech with Future Fusion and then using Overload fusion for game everytime I can in Tagforce
Can't wait for the Blackwing or Birdgirl archetype video.
Chimeratechs are underrated yet so Op
They are my second win button when I can't do the rank 5 Nova spam OTK
Fortress Dragon doesn't really feel like Cyber Dragon support tbh. Even back when it was released, it probably wouldn't be worth it to summon it over other things.
It legit feels like a lore-based and real-life backfire lol
@Jake Folk I'm sorry mate, but I don't think the scenario you've just described to me has ever occurred. Cyber mirrors aren't as common as you're hoping, I think.
With the new spell that turns everything into machine fortress became must have card, even kaiju helps with fortress
Well I mean it actually fits the deck theme considering power bond can backfire on its user so too can its own fusion monsters.
I've been experimenting with this archetype, thank you for this video!
Will there be a code talker or a @ignister archetype in the future
I hope to see the infinitracks and the level 10 trains been using them lately and I enjoy it
Chimeratech series are excellent. 😀👍
Bruh. You can’t just show the fma chimera without a warning. That’s scarring. I’d rather go to the purple realm than remembering that.
Great video! Entertaining as always. Would love to see u do the Drytron archetype but as always keep up the great work!
new chimeratech coming soon lets GOOOOO
Great job man!!! Great one!
Megafleet comes in clutch for me so often, I use 2 copies in my ED.
One of my first Yugioh cards was a Cyber End Dragon.
He’s not gonna *cue FMAB moment* OH GODDAMMIT!!
