Actually, I wanted to do the Dune soundtrack much earlier. I had been eagerly awaiting both the film and Hans Zimmer's music since the first trailer came out. And again, I'm overwhelmed by the new sounds Hans Zimmer has created. However, after the first and second listen-through, I was convinced that the soundtrack is too atmospheric and too heavily sound-based to bring to the piano. Nevertheless, when many of you asked for Dune in the comment section of my last video, I gave it a third chance. And suddenly I found a way to arrange the Dune soundtrack for piano that I'm satisfied with. I'm happy with the result now and I hope you are too. My piano version is primarily based on the tracks "Ripples in the Sand", "Paul's Dream", "Leaving Caladan" and "Herald of the Change". The themes and chords contained in these tracks basically run throughout the entire soundtrack. This makes the soundtrack feel very consistent. By the way, do you recognize the ripples in the sand in the background?

I saw Dune twice in IMAX. It's an experience I'll never forget.
I learnt 'Paul's Dream' and did an arrangement and everything only to discover he didn't even include it in the official soundtrack lol so i never recorded it, but this was very beautiful thanks. And i agree with your video description completely, it's not the type of soundtrack you can make piano arrangements from, it's more of a soundscape/ambience score, total opposite of something like inception or lion king which are more melodic.
Hans Zimmer + Patrik Pietschmann = Perfect match. This sounds just like the movie. Love that the lights are the colour of spice.
In the fifth or sixth book of Dune, they reminisce about the piano, saying it was an amazing instrument in how it was able to create order out of disorder. I think this piece is an attest to that as well.
After watching Dune : part 2 at the cinema today this really made me want to learn this music you've arranged Patrick. The arrangement is really good, I'm thinking about downloading the music sheet and trying to play it myself, I believe I have an advanced level so I'm confident I should be able to play it :)
Dune is such a epic movie and Hans Zimmer did a awesome job with the theme and you perfectly covered the emotion in this cover.

This arrangement is the most impressive for me, because the soundtrack is so atmospheric and you still mananged to cover it so beautifully and in its full majesty

Amazing performance Patrik! Dune's main theme sounds like a part of Interstellar's score for me but on a desert planet like Arrakis. Hanz Zimmer brought his unique touch and you made it hauntingly beautiful.
It's crazy how you never fail to impress me with every uploads. From the visuals that still hit the same after all these years to the accuracy of your arrangements, your technique, music quality ect.. all i can say is that you never dissapoint. Keep it going, Patrik! :)
anything by hans zimmer is automatically a masterpiece and i'm impressed at how well you managed to translate the score over to piano
This seriously gave me the chills and had me stop what I was doing to watch and listen through the whole thing.
I really hope that this Hans Zimmer's beautiful masterpiece will win an Oscar !
