Self-Deletion Squad is not worthy of being called an "Arkham Series Spinoff". Too many character breaks that damage continuity, but it's a multiverse story. Nothing matters.

Especially considering the fact that she A, has no martial arts skills whatsoever and would be literally babied... B, she has only held a gun a few times let alone shot them so I doubt she'd be good enough of a marksman to even touch Batman with bullets... And C, she was a psychiatrist, not a chemist (idk how they missed that) so she would not be able to reverse, improve, or show immunity to the fear toxin; and even if she was a Chemist, she would have no time to engineer and look into the fear toxin as she was in the asylum since Arkham Knight.

What I love about Assault on Arkham is that it gives basically everyone their time in the sun, just in different ways. You see how the Squad are good at what they do, and how they can definitely handle the tasks Waller assigns them. But Arkham Batman is out of their league and trounces them without stealing the spotlight and making the film all about him.
Bonus fun fact: only time in the Arkhamverse that Kevin Conroy's Batman interacts with Troy Baker's Joker!
This is honestly the perfect suicide squad movie and best of all it just didn't devolve into halting a major crisis like the live action movies. It very much stayed in its own realm goal wise.
Yep the squad is supposed to be for small scale black ops missions not heavy hitters like BRAINIAC. Also none of the squad members even die in the game while assault on Arkham is ruthless about killing them
I love Waller's mission briefing. They go through the infiltration, how they're going to neutralize the electronic and physical security, all the details. Then somebody asks, "What about The Bat?" Waller's response amounts to hopefully we'll get lucky and we'll be able to keep him distracted, but if not you're all fucked and MAYBE one of you will be able to get away with the mission objective.
The second live action movie is way better about putting the squad in their power level, but even so I was really hoping the end would just be Superman flying through Starro out of nowhere at the speed of sound. Like just make it obvious that they're immediately out classed as soon as anyone with actual powers gets involved.
I wonder why they didn't get Mark Hamill for Joker here, was it related to him quitting the role (though secretly being involved in Arkham Knight) at the time? Or why they didn't have Roger Craig Smith reprising his role. I love Kevin Conroy's Batman but given that this is set in between Origins & Asylum and features Troy Baker's Joker, it would've been nice to to see his Batman back.
Got to say, Batman showing up in this movie is like the sudden appearance of a hidden Dark Souls boss. With about the same results as most hard Souls bosses have the first time you meet them.

You're cooking in Dark Souls, and then you see a health bar appear and any sense of hope and confidence you have drains away in two seconds.

they didn't forget. the people who would have remembered this movie are long gone from the company. the people working at rocksteady now are completely different people than those who made even arkham knight. it's basically a new company with the same name and access to the IPs as the original company. this company only wants to ruin your childhood and make money and the shit making the most money in current year (they claim) is live service multiplayer looter-shooters. so expect more live service multiplayer games! rocksteady already said they want to make as many as possible with as many of their IPs as possible.
This film was actually one of my favourite DCAU films. And by FAR the best Suicide squad film to date.
I love it but still love 2016 Squad more, Straight Harley, Romantic Joker, Man who can climb anything, Katana I would advise not getting killed by her, Enchantress played by actually sexy attractive woman (ty Cara).

The spinning hook kick to Drathstroke is one of the nastiest things I've ever seen. Arkham Batman WAS a menace.
Batman did solo the squad at the start of the game. But for some reason doesn't kill them. Like he kills random people in the intro but doesn't for some reason. Flash could have killed them anytime too.
Like even if he can't punch them due to anti speed force, he could just throw a rock at Mach 10 and split their skulls open. They somehow tank Green Lantern's attacks. And worst of all, Superman flips the entire planet but doesn't just throw a city block at the squad. Or Throw the city block they are standing on into space.
Yep makes zero sense. They have plot armor that would make Comic batman blush the f out. The SS members is obviously riding on the live action movies choices. Shame they easily could have just put Major characters like Reverse flash or General zod into the mix with just some explanation like Waller bailed them out from whatever phantom zone prison or whatever when JL got brain washed.

@ri9833 The game does allude to the Batman's plans to neutralize the Justice League, but I don't think the game does anything with this and it's instead up to Lex Luther to provide the required plot armour.
Also the plans Batman has to neutralize Justice League originated from comic book JLA: Tower of Babel, which was loosely adapted into the animated film Justice League: Doom.
As for Jon Stewart, the Suicide Squad would have easily been able to beat him because the Green Lantern ring would have abandoned Jon the moment he was mind controlled.

Also no, I am not refering to the Arkham wiki, but rather those reports in the game, via what is found ,bios, etc, hence even Waller appearing in the tie in. As is some stuff from the comics, like how Jason and Slade got their army and the resources, which is mentioned to. As well as how Joker got into Arkham City in the first place, which we see in the AC tie in.
I wish we did also but sadly most of the OG Rocksteady guys left the company. Now we are stuck with the new group and Sweet Baby 😕

This movie was awesome. Not only because Harley, Cap, King Shark and Deadshot where nice to see in this version and not disgusting. Also for the other characters like Killerfrost, Riddler, Penguin, Two-Faces, Posion Ivy, Gordon and that OP Batman in his scenes.
They did get their ass whooped on that one segment of the game, but the way they won on the cave segment is just odd, if he's 'evil' he could've just use deadly toxin so the squad just died right then and there, but they nerf him so the squad have a 'chance'

I have a theory that Earth two is actually Earth 3, making the suicide squads universe Earth 2. Lex mentions lady boomerang, an elseworld character from Earth 3 in the comics. Is it possible that it was just a throw-away joke, but due to conclusions in the story being built on relative perspective, I think it's entirely possible that assault on arkham is still canonical to the arkham games in Earth 1.
If an "experienced" Arkham Batman can whoop their asses like that, imagine what Origins Batman would have done
Plot Armor Squad: Kill the Nerfed League
Hear me out, there is actually a good narrative reason to why Batman lost to the Squad this time around. He had Brainiac in his ear, his reason for fighting changed completely. People don’t think it matters, but it really does change everything. It changes how people think and approach situations, and for the first time ever, Bruce had someone above him. Not only that, Brainiac shifted Bruce’s personality around to his liking. In his hubris, he messed up Batman’s ability to get things done the way he used to. I just wish it was explained more in the game and maybe the backlash wouldn’t be so huge

Suicide Squad game should've been about how terrifying it is to go against Arkham Batman. Especially an evil version of him without a no-killing rule, that's way harder and almost impossible. It is Batman after all, the guy who has a contingency plan for EVERYTHING.

In my opinion this game is set in a different universe then the main Arkham verse there are a lot of things changed that make it easier for it to be another universe entirely. Like the main story pionts of all the main games could've happened but with slightly different outcomes like with Deadshot and Harley being different. Just that theres enough different to easily say its a another universe entirely then the same as Arkham.
