a great amount of your focus was on the fact that the instrumentals were not as hard hitting and didnt build up as much, but i believe that this albums goal was a more ambient and etheral sound. i was feeling that it matched the themes of heartbreak and melancholy that were presented. i also believe that completely skippin over the track "twice" is criminal, as it is one of the best tracks on the album and definitely a louder and less calm track in comparison to the rest. was expecting atleast a 7

I agree with fantano on this one, I was pretty excited for the record but came out underwhelmed. Blake and Boat's singing came out too similar to really play off of eachother, and the instrumentals are often pretty but don't assert themselves well. There's definitely something here for someone, just not for me
I had a lot of hype going into this one, it definitely wasn’t what I expected but I found that the spaciousness and scarcity kind of pulled me in an forced me to focus on the details in the production. And i got a lot out of listening in this way. I understand and agree with most of this review but the sheer quality of that more abstract production that Melon mentioned makes it an enjoyable listen for me.

I have no issue with the song structures, I like how the tracks fit together. The album meanders, the draw of listening to it is not know where I am in the album. You’re reviewing an album, the collection of tracks not just tracks.

For me it’s best album in 2024 so far. 9/10. Appealing because it’s different and emotive. Re your criticism of structure, most of these songs aren’t traditional verse chorus repeat. Think more epic, like Last Goodbye. That’s what makes it more appealing - and slow growing.
