For a podcast mainly focused around music, the audio mixing on these episodes is so bad - I'm constantly re-adjusting the volume because there's just no consistency in levels. Just slap a compressor on it it's not that hard
I was thinking about this while watching one of the older episodes where it was SO noticeable💀but I was more so wondering if they have an audio tech on their crew or not idk

James can have the point if we're focusing on the term "Alternative" describing only a sub-genra of Rock : in this idea, "alternative rock" doesn't exist as a statement, we just call it "alternative", then the word "independant" can be perceived as an artist which is getting out of the music standards of his music genra to mix it with another one.
But in a way, "alternative hip-hop" is precisely the mix between Rock and Hip-hop as well as "alternative reggae" is the mix between rock and reggae.
At the end of the Day, it depends how we use the term 'alternative' : as a noun, it describes a music genra only, but as an adjective, it dscribes the mix between rock and another music genra.
